3.Safety
3.1Authorizeduse
Thissanderisdesignedforsandingwoodandsimilarmaterials
only.Sandingofothermaterialsisnotpermittedandmaybe
carriedoutinspecificcasesonlyafterconsultingwiththe
manufacturer.
Themachineisnotsuitableforwetsanding.
Theworkpiecemustallowtosafelybeloaded,supportedand
guided.
Theproperusealsoincludescompliancewiththeoperatingand
maintenanceinstructionsgiveninthismanual.
Themachinemustbeoperatedonlybypersonsfamiliarwithits
operationandmaintenanceandwhoarefamiliarwithits
hazards.
Therequiredminimumagemustbeobserved.
Themachinemustonlybeusedinatechnicallyperfect
condition.
Whenworkingonthemachine,allsafetymechanismsandcovers
mustbemounted.
Inadditiontothesafetyrequirementscontainedinthese
operatinginstructionsandyourcountry’sapplicableregulations,
youshouldobservethegenerallyrecognizedtechnicalrules
concerningtheoperationofwoodworkingmachines.

Anyotheruseexceedsauthorization.
Intheeventofunauthorizeduseofthemachine,the
manufacturerrenouncesallliabilityandtheresponsibilityis

3.2Generalsafetynotes
Woodworkingmachinescanbedangerousifnotusedproperly.
Thereforetheappropriategeneraltechnicalrulesaswellasthe
followingnotesmustbeobserved.

Readandunderstandtheentireinstructionmanualbefore
attemptingassemblyoroperation.

Keepthisoperatinginstructionclosebythemachine,protected
fromdirtandhumidity,andpassitovertothenewownerifyou
partwiththetool.
Nochangestothemachinemaybemade.
Dailyinspectthefunctionandexistenceofthesafetyappliances
beforeyoustartthemachine.
Donotattemptoperationinthiscase,protectthemachineby
unpluggingthepowercord.
Beforeoperatingthemachine,removetie,rings,watches,other
jewellery,androllupsleevesabovetheelbows.
Removealllooseclothingandconfinelonghair.
Wearsafetyshoes;neverwearleisureshoesorsandals.
Alwaysweartheapprovedworkingoutfit:
‐safetygoggles
‐earprotection
‐dustprotection

Donotweargloveswhileoperatingthismachine.

Installthemachinesothatthereissufficientspaceforsafe
operationandworkpiecehandling.
Keepworkareawelllighted.
Themachineisdesignedtooperateinclosedroomsandmustbe
boltedstableonfirmandlevelledtablesurfaceoronthe
suppliedcabinetstand.
Makesurethatthepowercorddoesnotimpedeworkandcause
peopletotrip.
Keeptheflooraroundthemachinecleanandfreeofscrap
material,oilandgrease.
Stayalert!Giveyourworkundividedattention.
Usecommonsense.Donotoperatethemachinewhenyouare
tired.
Donotoperatethemachineundertheinfluenceofdrugs,
alcoholoranymedication.Beawarethatmedicationcanchange
yourbehaviour.

Keepanergonomicbodyposition.
Maintainabalancedstanceatalltimes.
Neverreachintothemachinewhileitisoperatingorrunning
down.

Keepchildrenandvisitorsasafedistancefromtheworkarea.
Neverleavearunningmachineunattended.Beforeyouleavethe
workplaceswitchoffthemachine.
Donotoperatetheelectrictoolnearinflammableliquidsor
gases.
Observethefirefightingandfirealertoptions,forexamplethe
fireextinguisheroperationandplace.
Donotusethemachineinadumpenvironmentanddonot
exposeittorain.
Wooddustisexplosiveandcanalsorepresentarisktohealth.
Dustformsometropicalwoodsinparticular,andfrom
hardwoodslikebeachandoak,isclassifiedasacarcinogenic
substance.
Alwaysuseasuitabledustcollectiondevice
Beforemachining,removeanynailsandotherforeignbodies
fromtheworkpiece.
Machineonlystockwhichrestssecurelyonthetable.
Neveroperatewiththeguardsnotinplace–seriousriskof
injury!
Specificationsregardingthemaximumorminimumsizeofthe
workpiecemustbeobserved.
Donotremovechipsandworkpiecepartsuntilthemachineisat
astandstill.

Donotstandonthemachine.
Connectionandrepairworkontheelectricalinstallationmaybe
carriedoutbyaqualifiedelectricianonly.

Haveadamagedorwornpowercordreplacedimmediately.
Makeallmachineadjustmentsormaintenancewiththemachine
unpluggedfromthepowersource.



3.3Remaininghazards
Whenusingthemachineaccordingtoregulationssome
remaininghazardsmaystillexist.
Themovingsandingdiscintheworkareacancauseinjury.
Riskofkickback.Theworkpieceiscaughtbythemovingsanding
discandthrownbacktotheoperator.
Thrownworkpiecepartscanleadtoinjury.
Sandingdustandnoisecanbehealthhazards.Besuretowear
personalprotectiongearsuchassafetygogglesanddustmask.
Useasuitabledustexhaustsystem.
Defectivesandingdiscscancauseinjuries.
Theuseofincorrectmainssupplyoradamagedpowercordcan
leadtoinjuriescausedbyelectricity.



5.Transportandstartup
5.1Transportandinstallation
Themachineisdesignedtooperateinclosedroomsandmustbe
placedstableonfirmandlevelledsurface.
Forsafetyreasons,themachinemustbeboltedtothework
benchortoasuitablestand.
AttachalargeC‐clamptoeachsideofthesanderand
workbench,orpermanentlymountwith4boltsM8andnuts(J,
Fig2).


5.2Assembly
Ifyounoticetransportdamagewhileunpacking,notifyyour
supplierimmediately.Donotoperatethemachine!
Disposeofthepackinginanenvironmentallyfriendlymanner.
Cleanallrustprotectedsurfaceswithamildsolvent.
Attachthediscbrake(D,Fig3)withtwohexsocketscrews(N).


Mainsconnectionandanyextensioncordsusedmustcomply
withapplicableregulations.
Themainsvoltagemustcomplywiththeinformationonthe
machinelicenceplate.
Thismachinemustbeproperlygrounded.
Themainsconnectionmusthavea10Asurge‐prooffuse.
OnlyusepowercordsmarkedH07RN‐F
Connectionsandrepairstotheelectricalequipmentmayonlybe
carriedoutbyqualifiedelectricians.

5.4Dustconnection
Beforeinitialoperation,themachinemustbeconnectedtoa
dustcollector.
Thesuctionshouldswitchonautomaticallywhenthebeltsander
isswitchedon.
Flexiblehosesmustbeofnon‐flammablequality,andmustbe
connectedtothedustcollectorgroundsystem.

5.5Startingoperation
YoucanstartthemachinewiththegreenON‐button(C,Fig4).
TheredOFF‐button(B)onthemainswitchstopsthemachine.
Afteryouhaveturned“OFF”thesanderyoucanpressthebrake
lever(D)tostopthesandingdiscrapidly.



6.Machineoperation
Correctoperatingpractice:
Alwayssupporttheworkpiecewiththetable.
Feedtheworkpiecestraightacrossthemachinetable,holding
yourfingersclosetogether,guidingtheworkpiecewiththepalm
ofyourhands(Fig5).


Whenworkingcomplexshapes,makejigsandguidestoguide
theworkpieceproperlyandsafely.
Supportlongworkpieceswithhelpingrollerstands.
Warning:
Avoidkickbackbysandinginaccordancewithdirectionalarrow.
Sandondownwardsideofdisconly.
Sandingontheupwardsidecouldcausetheworkpiecetoflyup
(kickback)causinginjury!
Neversandwiththediscsafetyguardnotinplace.
Toavoidjammingtheworkpieceorfingersbetweenthetable
andsandingsurface,maintaina1.5mmmaximumclearance
betweenthesandingdiscandtable.

Bevelsanding:
Theworktablecanbetiltedfrom0to+45degreesforbevel
sanding.Loosenthetablelockknob(K,Fig7)totiltthe
worktabletodesiredangle.


7.Setupandadjustments
Generalnotes:
Setupandadjustmentworkmayonlybecarriedoutafterthe
machineisprotectedagainstaccidentalstartingbypullingthe
mainsplug.
Makesureallleversandlockinghandlesaretightenedbefore
operatingthemachine.



Thetablestopsat0°,22,5°and45°
Thetabletiltstopshavebeenpre‐setatthefactory.
Ifadjustmentisneeded,loosenthetwoscrews(L,Fig8)and
slidethestopbarleftorrightasneeded.
Thelatchingballspringforceisadjustable(N).


Pullthemainsplug.
Removethediscsafetyguard(E,Fig11).
Loosenthefourbolts(1~4,Fig11)andremovethetable(F)for
adequateaccess(Fig9).
Removetheoldabrasivedisc.
Makesurethediscplateiscleanbeforeyouattachthenew
abrasivedisc.
Abrasivediscsmustbethespecifieddiameter305mm.
Aligntheabrasivediscwiththebackingplateandpressitfirmly
intoposition(Fig9).


Maschinenherstellererfolgen.
DieMaschineistnichtfürNass‐Schliffgeeignet.
EsdürfennurWerkstückebearbeitetwerdenwelchesicher
aufgelegtundgeführtwerdenkönnen.
DiebestimmungsgemäßeVerwendungbeinhaltetauchdie
EinhaltungdervomHerstellerangegebenenBetriebs‐und
Wartungsanweisungen.
DieMaschinedarfausschließlichvonPersonenbedientwerden,
