3.1Authorizeduse
Thismachineisdesignedforsawingwood,woodderived
materialsaswellassimilartobemachinedhardplasticsonly.
Machiningofothermaterialsisnotpermittedandmaybe
carriedoutinspecificcasesonlyafterconsultingwiththe
manufacturer.
Theworkpiecemustallowtosafelybeloaded,supportedand
guided.
Theproperusealsoincludescompliancewiththeoperating
andmaintenanceinstructionsgiveninthismanual.
Themachinemustbeoperatedonlybypersonsfamiliarwith
itsoperation,maintenanceandrepairandwhoarefamiliar
withitshazards.
Therequiredminimumagemustbeobserved
Themachinemustonlybeusedinatechnicallyperfect
condition
Whenworkingonthemachine,allsafetymechanismsand
coversmustbemounted.
Inadditiontothesafetyrequirementscontainedinthis
operatinginstructionsandyourcountry’sapplicable

Woodworkingmachinescanbedangerousifnotusedproperly.
Thereforetheappropriategeneraltechnicalrulesaswellas

Keepthisoperatinginstructionclosebythemachine,
protectedfromdirtandhumidity,andpassitovertothenew
ownerifyoupartwiththetool.
Nochangestothemachinemaybemade.
Dailyinspectthefunctionandexistenceofthesafety
appliancesbeforeyoustartthemachine.
Donotattemptoperationinthiscase,protectthemachineby
unpluggingthemainscord.
Removealllooseclothingandconfinelonghair.
Beforeoperatingthemachine,removetie,rings,watches,

Ifyounoticeanytransportdamagewhileunpacking,notify
yoursupplierimmediately.Donotoperatethemachine!
Disposeofthepackinginanenvironmentallyfriendlymanner.
Cleanallrustprotectedsurfaceswithamildsolvent.
Mountingthesawdustblower:

Correctworkingposition:
Infrontofthemachinestandinginthedirectionofcutting.
Workpiecehandling:
Insurethattheworkpiecedoesnotrollwhencuttinground
pieces.
Usesuitabletableextensionsandsupportingaidsfordifficult
tohandleworkpieces.
Nevercutpiecesthataretoosmall.
Presstheworkpiecedownagainstthetabletoavoid
ancontrollablelifting.
Removetheworkpiecefromthebladepriortoturningthe
scrollsawON.
Feedtheworkpiecetowardsthesawbladeinthedirectionof
thesawline,andcutasrequiredbyturningtofollowtheline
drawn.
Donotperformanyoperationfreehand.

Attention:
Alwaysobservethesafetyinstructionsandadheretothe
currentregulations.
Ensurethatthetransparentsawguardisloweredtothe

Thefollowinginformationisgeneralinnature.
Awidearrayofbladesareavailableforthisscrollsaw.
Factorstoconsiderwhenselectingablade:
‐Typeofmaterialtobecut(hardwood,softwood).
‐Thicknessofworkpiece(thickerpieceswillrequirelarger
blades).
‐Featuresofworkpiece(straightcuts,sweepingcurvesortight
fretwork).
Thesefactorsareimportant(Fig12,Fig13).


Generally,widerbladesareusedformakingstraightcutsand
longcurves.Narrowbladesaresuitedforcutswithtight
corners,suchasfretwork.Whencuttingstraightlineswitha
narrowblade,theblademayhaveatendencytodrift.
Pitch:
Pitchismeasuredin“teethperinch”(TPI)andcanbeconstant
orvariable.
Afinepitch(moreteethperinch)willcutslowlybutmore
smoothly,andminimizevibration.
Trytouseabladethatwillhaveaminimumof3teethengaged
intheworkpieceatanygiventime.
Set:
“Set”referstothemannerinwhichthebladeteetharebentor
positioned.
Bendingtheteethcreatesakerf(K)thatiswiderthantheback
oftheblade(T).
Twocommonsetsarethestraightoralternatingset(S)and
therakerset(R).
Material:
Bladesaremanufacturedbystamping,milling,orgrinding.
Stampedbladesarepunchedoutonapressfromsheetsteel.
Milledbladesaremadecuttingtheteeththrougha“milling”
process,thenheat‐hardeningthesteel.
Groundbladeshavehigh‐carbonsteelteethwhichtendtohold
theirsharpnesslonger,andprovidesmoothcuts.
Specialstylesarealsoavailable,suchastwistandspiralblades,
whichcutfromallsides.
Mostbladesofferedare130mm(5inches)long.
Optimally,ablade(andtheoperator’stechnique)shouldleave
smooth,cleancutsthatdonotrequiresanding.
Theusermayfindafewcarefully‐selectedstyleswillserve
mostofhisorherneeds.Theselectioncanbeexpandedasthe
usergainsexperience.

Toothform:
Toothform(Fig30)hasaneffectoncuttingrate.
‐Regular(A)Standardbladeformwithevenlyspacedteeth
andzero‐degreerakeangle.Offerscleancutsatslowerfeed
rates.
‐Skiptooth(B)Morespacebetweenteeth,forgoodchip
removalandfastcuts.
‐Doubletooth(C)Askiptoothwithlargergapsbetween
toothsets;goodchipremoval,fastcutting.
‐Reversetooth(D)Preventsundersidetear‐out,leavesclean
edge.
‐Spiral(E)Cutsonallsideswithoutturningworkpiece;good
fornarrowfretwork.

9.Maintenanceandinspection
Generalnotes:
Maintenance,cleaningandrepairworkmayonlybecarried
outafterthemachineisprotectedagainstaccidentalstarting
bypullingthemainsplug.
Repairandmaintenanceworkontheelectricalsystemmay
onlybecarriedoutbyaqualifiedelectrician.
Cleanthemachineregularly.
Inspecttheproperfunctionofthedustextractiondaily.
Allprotectiveandsafetydevicesmustbere‐attached
immediatelyaftercompletedcleaning,repairandmaintenance
work.
Defectivesafetydevicesmustbereplacedimmediately.

Cleaning:
Regularlycleanthemachinehousingwithasoftcloth
preferablyaftereachuse.

Neverusesolventssuchaspetrol,alcohol,ammoniacwater,


Sawblades:
Onlyusesharpsawblades.

Lubrication:
Lubricatethearmbearingsafterevery50hoursofuse.

