Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system.

With proper installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system

will deliver years of listening pleasure.

We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your

authorized JL Audio dealer. The installation professionals employed by your

dealer have the necessary tools and experience to disassemble and reassemble

your vehicle properly. If you prefer to perform your own installation, please read

this installation guide completely before beginning the process.

If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely

vital that the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle

according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure

properly presents two problems:

1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the

enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).

2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a

collision or sudden deceleration.

POWER RECOMMENDATION

JL Audio recommends high quality ampliers such as the JL Audio MX300/1. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the MX300/1. For a detailed description of the

amplier settings, consult the owner’s manual for the amplier. If another amplier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplier.

CONNECTIONS

Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®. JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your

Stealthbox® amplier. Other kits are available should you be using more than one amplier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for

both channels of the amplier. JL Audio recommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as the XC-BCS12-25.

STEP 8

Remove the lower bolt from the door latch.

This will not be reinstalled.

STEP 7

Remove the clips from the inside of the side

panel, and remove the panel from the vehicle.

STEP 6

Remove the two indicated screws from the

bottom of the side panel.

STEP 5

Remove the clips from the rear of the side

panel.

STEP 4

Remove the clips and screws from the

perimeter of the upper trim panel, and remove

the panel from the vehicle.

STEP 3

Remove the two clips at the front of the access

panel, and remove the panel from the vehicle.

This will not be reinstalled.

STEP 2

Lift up on the seat bottom, and remove it from

the vehicle.

STEP 1

Empty the vehicle.

STEP 16

Thread a 1/4 - 20 x 1” Serrated Flange Head

Bolt through each of the three holes in the

U-Bracket, into the threaded inserts in the

bottom of the enclosure as shown, and hand

tighten.

STEP 15

Slide the upper hole in the Side Bracket over

the M8 - 1.25 x 30 mm Button Head Cap

Screw installed in Step 9. Thread an M8 - 1.25

Serranted Flange Locknut over the M8 - 1.25

x 30 mm Button Head Socket Cap Screw, and

hand tighten.

STEP 14

Slide the Stealthbox® into position between

the upper and lower frame rails.

STEP 13

Thread a pair of 1/4 - 20 x 1” Serrated Flange

Head Bolts through the holes in the side of

the Side Bracket, into the threaded inserts in

the side of the enclosure as shown, and hand

tighten.

STEP 12

Remove the outer bolt and nut from the rear

frame rail. These will be reinstalled in Step 17.

ST EP 11

Remove the outer bolt and nut from the front

frame rail. These will be reinstalled in Step 17.

STEP 10

Locate the two indicated outer bolts on the

frame rails.

STEP 9

Install the M8 - 1.25 x 30 mm Button Head Cap

Screw in place of the bolt removed in the

previous step, and fully tighten.

STEP 20

Reinstall the seat bottom.

Note: For optimum performance, we

recommend applying the included Foam Strips

(or sound damping material) to surrounding

plastic panels to reduce unwanted vibrations.

STEP 19

Reinstall the side panel and upper trim panel.

Do not reinstall the access panel.

STEP 18

Connect speaker cable to the barrier strip on

the side of the Stealthbox®, and route the cable

as necessary.

STEP 17

Secure the bottom of the U-Bracket to the

frame using the factory bolts and nuts

removed in Steps 11-12.

Fully tighten all hardware.
