With proper installation, your new speaker
will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your subwoofer installed
by your authorized JL Audio dealer . The installation
professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience to
properly install this product. If you prefer to perform
your own installation, please read this instruction manual
completely before beginning th e process .

1) Choo se aflat mounting surface th at h as

2) Cut a12 062 5 -in ch (306 mm) diameter hole.
3) Run t he spea kerc ab le to the mo unting l oca tio n.
4) Pl ace the woofer in the holeand mark the s cre w

While this speaker is designed to be water and
spray
resi stant, it is not designed to be submerged
or to withstand high-pressure water spray.
Please exercise care when washing your boat to
avoid damaging your speaker. Do not install on
submersibles, personal watercraft or any other
vessel likely to be underwater at any time .
Prolong
ed exposure to sound p ress ure levels in
excess of 1 OOdB can cause permanent hearing loss.
This high-performance speaker
can exceed this
level.
Please exercise restraint in its operation in
order to preserve your ability to enjoyits fidelity.
When
ins talling a subwoofer in your v esse l, it is
extremely imp o rt a nt to sec ure it firmly. Thisapplies
not only to the woofer it self, but also the structure
it is mounted to. If not firmly attached, the speaker
can become a dangerous projectile in a collision.

MEDIUM GRAY (MINIMUM):
From a reliability standpoint, this zone
represents a very comfortable operating power
range for each driver. This level of power will not
stress the woofer but will not extract all of its
performance potential, either.
Use of less than the minimum power level
will not damage the woofer, but may result
in
unsatisfactory performance.
LIGHT GRAY (OPTIMUM):
This zone represents the be st compromise
between long-term reliability, high-output and
low-distortion performance.
This power level is
lower than the woofer's continuous p ow er rating
(as publish ed in its specifications) , but you will still
be taking advantage ofthe woofer' s, low-d is tortion
performance range without undue risk of fai l ure.
DARK GRAY (MAXIMUM):
S lightly more SPL w ill be gained by pushing t he
power into this zone , but typically not more than
2d8, compared to the light gray zone. The subwoofe r
driver is desig ned to operate safely up to this power
range, butnot beyond .Operatewith caution.
BLACK (WARRANTY VOID) :
We do not re commend op era ting woofers at
this
level of power. In t his zone, there is a very
high probability
tha t the driver will fail due to
excessive heat and/or mechan ic al stress.
Subwoofer drivers operated at these levels of
power areNOTcovered under warranty.
When designing systems
with our drivers, it is very important to achievea good power matchbetween the subwooferamplifier and the subwooferdriver'scapabilities. The power levels listed in the above
chartrepresentcontinuous (RMS) amplifierpower per woofer and assume that the userwill regularly make full use of that powerwi thout drasticallyoverdriyj na the amplifier(s). Make sure youfactorsystem
impedance
and the total number of subwoofers into yourcalculations. Adhering to these power recommendationswill result in systems that are both reliable and enjoyable.

JL AUDIO wa rr ants this speaker to be free of def ects in materials and
workmanship for a period
of two (2) years from the original date of purchase.
Damage caused

misuse, abuse,
product mod ifi cation or neglect, failure to foll ow installation
instruction
s, una uth or ized repair attemp ts. misrepresentations by the s el le r. This
warranty doesn
ot cover incidental or conse qu e nt ial damag es and does n ot cover
the
cos t of rem ov i ng or re in sta lling the unit(s). Co sm etic damage due to accident
or norm al wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
This
warranty is not transferable and applies only to the original
purchaser
of the productfrom an authorized JL AUDIO dealer. Warranty is
voided if the factory-appliedproductserial number is removed or defaced.
Should service be nec
essary under this war ra nty for any reason due to
manufacturing de f ec t or malfuncti on, JL A UD IO wi ll , at its discretion, repair or
re
pl ace the def ec tive product with new or remanu fa ctured product at no c ha rge.
Any appli
cab le implied warranti es are limited in duration to the period of
the express warranty as provi ded herein be ginning with the date of the original
