Congratulations on purchasing your new JMI Dobsonian
Wheeley Bar! JMI Wheeley Bars – Meade 10/12 Inch
Dobsonians create an easy way to move mounted telescopes to
and from observing locations. This is a customized model with
four large 10″ all-terrain pneumatic wheels and a tow handle,
consisting of a sturdy base with locking wheels and leveling
bolts. Easily move, lock and level the complete telescope
assembly from location to location without the need to
disconnect and reconnect all the electrical and computer
cabling during transport.
Compatible with:
•Meade LightBridge 10″ / 12″ (Due to variations in
foot placement on the 10″ LightBridge, one or
more of the feet on the base of the scope
may need to be moved in order for this scope to
fit)
•Apertura AD12
•Orion SkyQuest XT12 / XX12 (Some modification is
neeeded to make the Go-To scopes fit due to
placement of four nuts on the azimuth bolt
mounting plate (bottom of scope/ground board).
•Sky-Watcher 12″
•Zhumell 10″ / 12″
•Adaptable to other Dobsonians with 26″ Diameter
Ground Board. Again, sometimes ground board
feet must be moved.
Note: The heavier the telescope mounted on the Wheeley
Bars, the more careful one must be in moving the
complete system by pulling or pushing below the center of
gravity. JMI is not responsible for incorrect loading or
operation.

Instructions
1. Lay Frames A & B upside down on a flat surface.
2. Align
screws in
B to line
up with
holes in A,
then use
Nylon
Lock Nuts

(G) to secure frames by screwing and tightening.
3. Flip assembled base right-side-up. Attach steering axle
(C) into Handle Frame (B). Twist axle until it is secure.

4. Line up
Handle
(D) to
the
holes in
the
steering
axle (C).
Slide
clevis
pin (L)
through
axle and
handle.
Use
cotter pin (K) to secure by sliding into the hole in the
clevis pin.
5. Attach rear tires (F) to
Wheel frame (A), make
sure the air gauge is
facing out. Use cotter
pin (K) to secure each
tire.

6. Repeat process for front tires.

7. Take leveling screw (E) and screw in wing nut (H), then
½” washer (I).

8. Screw leveling screw (E) into each hole next to the rear
tires and one next to hand on the handle frame.
9. Screw Jam Nut (M), then large fender washer (J) then
another Jam nut (M).
10. Complete by attaching rubber foot to each bottom of
each leveling screw.
11. Lastly, attach end caps to each end of the handle.

Your wheeley bar is now ready for use. For the maximum
use of your wheeley bar, you can use the leveling rods to
stick into soft ground for ultimate stability. Just remove
the rubber foot and screw the rod into the ground. The

large fender washer is there to stabilize the rod into the
ground.
