resistance.
Now pull the starter cord quickly 8x.
Attention: The cutting tool begins to turn as soon as the motor starts.
7. If the motor has started then let it warm up for at least 3 seconds and then slide the
choke lever to run “I I I”. If the motor does not start then repeat steps 1-7.
Note: Always pull the starter cord straight out. If it is pulled at an angle then this
causes friction at the eye. This friction frays the cord and it wears out faster. Always
hold on to the starter handle when the cord is winding back in. Never let the cord
spring back from its extended condition.

Tips for using your petrol line trimmer
Lengthening the cutting line
Warning! Do not use any type of metal wire or plastic sheathed metal wire in the
cutting line spool. This can lead to serious injuries to the operator.
To lengthen the cutting line, let the motor run at full throttle and tap the cutting line
spool on the ground. The cutting line will be automatically lengthened. The blade on
Caution: Remove all grass and weed residue regularly in order to avoid the shaft
tube overheating. Lawn/ grass/weed residue can become entangled underneath the
residue carefully with a screwdriver or similar.
Trimming
Swing the trimmer from side to side like a scythe. Always keep the trimming line
spool parallel to the ground. Check the area to be mowed and determined the
desired cutting height. Guide and hold the cutting line spool at the desired height in
Low trimming
Hold the trimmer at a slight angle right in front of you so that the underside of the
cutting line spool is above the ground and the cutting line strikes the correct cutting
point. Always cut away from yourself. Do not pull the trimmer towards yourself.
Cutting up to fences / foundations
When cutting approach chain-link fences, lattice fences, stone walls and foundations
slowly in order to cut close to them but without the cutting line striking the obstacle.
If the cutting line comes into contact with stones, stone walls or foundations for
example, it will be worn out or become frayed. If the cutting line strikes the mesh of
a fence it will break.
Trimming around trees
When trimming around tree trunks approach the tree slowly to avoid the cutting
line touching the bark. Walk around the tree cutting from left to right as you do so.
Approach the grass or weeds with the tip of the cutting line and tilt the cutting line
spool slightly forwards. Warning: Be very careful when carrying out mowing work.
Make sure that bystanders and animals remain at least 30m away from you when
carrying out such work.

MAINTENANCE (Cont.)
Sharpening the cutting line cutter
The cutting line cutter can become blunt over time. If this should occur then loosen
the 2 screws that fasten the cutter to the protective cover. Fasten the cutter in a
cutting edge. File in only one direction.
Adjusting the carburettor
Attention! Adjustments to the carburettor should only be carried out by authorised
J2 before any work is done on the carburettor.
Adjusting the throttle cable:
If it is no longer possible to reach the maximum motor speed with the device,
it may be necessary to adjust the throttle cable.
Firstly, check if the carburettor opens fully when the throttle trigger is pressed fully.
the correct setting. If the carburettor throttle plate does not touch the stop then
readjustment is necessary.
The following steps are required to readjust the throttle cable:
fully depressed.
•Tighten the counter nut once again.
Adjusting the idle speed:
Attention! Adjust the idle speed when the device is warmed up and in operational
condition. If the device stalls when the throttle trigger is released then readjustment
of the idle speed may be necessary. To do so turn the idle speed screw (fig. O2 / item 5)
clockwise until the device runs smoothly at idle. If the idle speed is set so high that
the cutting tool also turns, then the idle speed must be reduced by turning the idle
screw counter clockwise until the cutting tool no longer turns along with the motor.
