Asse bly Instructions
• Wear proper safety equipment and clothing, safety glasses/goggles.
• Hot automotive fluids can burn and injure eyes and body.
• Opening a hot system can cause these fluids to be forcibly sprayed in all directions.
• Use care to position the oil drain under the anticiapted fluid stream and adjust as necessary
until all fluids are collected.
• Be aware of natural wind, fans or other factors that may alter the fluid stream that may cause
injury or contamination of the surroundings.
• Use motor oil is flammable. Keep away from flames, sparks, and other sources fo ignition.
1. Install 4 casters, washers, lock washers. Hold the caster stem
with the special thin wrench as shown (See Fig. 1). Tighten the
nuts until split lock washer is fully flat.
2. Thread down tube collar onto the top of the tank. Continue
turning until collar bottoms out snug on tank fitting. Tighten set
screw to secure collar to tank. (See Fig. 2)
3. Thread funnel into the top adapter of the down tube. Tighten
securely by hand, and then tighten the set scres to secure.

4. Remove the plastic cap and thread the optional quick connect
fitting (included with optional conversion kit JohnDow Part No.
61431-2) for use with pump evacutaion system that will empty
the used oil into larger used oil storage tank. (See Fig. 4)
Tools Required:
3mm hex key
3/4 in. (19 mm) thin open end wrench (included)
3/4 in (19 mm) wrench or socket
• Certain automotive fluids are considered to be compatible for recycling used oil per the US
Environmental Agency (EPA). Other types of fluids my not be mixed with used motor oil and
must be handled as separately. See definitions below:
• Tank should be in good condition with no visible leaks. Repair leaks and clean up spills and
properly dispose of waste material.
• Close all valves when the oil drain is not being filled or emptied.
Used OIl is:
• Synthetic Oil
• Engine Oil
• Transmission Oil
• Brake Fluid
• Hydraulic Oils Cutting / etal-working
Oils
NOT Used OIl:
• Antifreeze
• Gasoline
• Kerosene
• Petroleum distillates and Solvents
• Vegetable or Animal Oil

Maintenance & Storage
1. Raising and Lowering the Funnel. Loosen the height
adjustment knob and raise funnel to desired height. Tighten to
secure position.
2. Open ball valve on downtube.
3. Prior to filling drain, verify that sufficient capacity remains in the
drain. THe drain should be emptied when the fill level is at the
top of the site tube. DO NOT OVERFILL.
4. Emptying Used Oil from Drain
a. This drain is designed to be evacuated using a pump
evacuation system that is used to pull drain up the inch
pipe located on top of the drain. Use the optional conver-
sion kit #61431-2.
b. Connect one end of the hose using quick connect coupler
to the top of the tank and the other end to the suction side
of the used oil storage system pump.
c. Turn on pump and run until drain is empty.
1. Periodically check fittings for visible leaks. Service as necessary.
2. Lower the funnel and close ball valve on down-tube when not in use.
