• Before use, check that your mains power
supply corresponds to the voltage set
by the Mains Voltage Selector Switch
located on the underside of the Kettle
Body .
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
• Always keep the appliance out of the
reach of children.
• Do not connect the Plug into the
socket, or use the appliance, if your hands
or the appliance are wet.
• Unplug the appliance whenever it is not
in use.
• THE APPLIANCE MUST ALWAYS BE
EARTHED - always connect to a mains
socket with an earth connection.
• Never leave the unit unattended when it
is operating.
• The Mains Lead should be positioned
so as not to cause an obstruction or to
overhang the edge of the surface, where
it could accidentally be snagged or pulled
by children.
• Do not use the Kettle outdoors.
• Do not place the Kettle close to a heat
source.
• Ensure that the Mains Lead is not near
any hot surface.
• Pull the plug (do not pull Mains Lead )
to disconnect from mains socket.
• Do not pull the Mains Lead to move
the appliance.
• It is not recommended that the Kettle
be used with an extension lead. If this
cannot be avoided, ensure that the
extension lead is of the correct rating.
• As the Kettle becomes hot during use,
take care when handling it and use only
the handle to lift.
• Do not tilt the kettle backwards when
filling or carrying it.
• Do not pour from the kettle while it is
switched on.
• The Kettle should be used only as
instructed and for the purpose for which it
was intended; there is potential for injury
or damage from misuse.
• Do not use the Kettle to heat liquids other
than clean water.
• Do not use the Kettle with a timer or
programming device.
• Do not switch on or attempt to operate
the Kettle if it appears to be faulty in any
way - contact Judge Customer Services at
the address given in the warranty section.
• Never attempt to make any repair to the
Kettle yourself - contact Judge Customer
Services at the address given in the
warranty section.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE
KETTLE IN WATER, EXCEPT THE LID .
• Should the Kettle accidentally fall into
water, unplug immediately and do not
use; contact Judge Customer Services at

Identifying the parts of your Judge Compact Kettle
(with Part Numbers for customer replaceable items)
Before first use
1. Remove any labels or swingtickets.
2. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse and
dry.
3. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body with a cloth, using liquid detergent and warm
water.
4. Wash the Lid in liquid detergent and warm water.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER, EXCEPT THE LID .
5. Turn the Kettle upside down and use a screwdriver to set the Mains Voltage Selector
Switch to correspond to the mains supply voltage in your location, 110V or 230V.
• IF YOU TRAVEL TO ANOTHER LOCATION, CHECK THE MAINS SUPPLY VOLTAGE AND, IF
NECESSARY, ADJUST ACCORDINGLY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO
THE KETTLE.
6. Follow the “How to use” instructions to boil the maximum amount of water, then discard
the water.
How to use
1. Position the Kettle on a dry, level and stable surface, away from direct heat.
2. The Mains Lead should be positioned so as not to cause an obstruction or to overhang
the edge of the surface. The Kettle should not be positioned directly below a mains socket.
3. Remove the Lid .
4. Pour the required amount of cold water into the Kettle, ensuring that the level is below
the MAX 0.5l mark.
• DO NOT OVERFILL, OR USE WITH LESS THAN A CUP FULL OF WATER.
5. Replace the lid .
6. Insert the Mains Plug into a mains socket and switch on at the socket.
7. Flick the Off/On Switch down to begin to heating the water.
• When the water has begun to boil, the Kettle will switch off automatically and the
Indicator will extinguish.
8. Switch off the mains socket and remove the Mains Plug .
9. Pour water from the spout of the Kettle, as required.
• TAKE CARE WITH VERY HOT WATER.
• Once the water has cooled, it can be reheated by flick the Off/On Switch down. This will
not function while the water is still hot.
• THE KETTLE HAS OVERHEATING PROTECTION, WHICH WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH
IT OFF. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD TAKE CARE NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BOIL DRY.
Cleaning & Care
• Allow the Kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
10. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse and
dry.
11. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body with a cloth, using liquid detergent and warm
water.
12. Wash the Lid in liquid detergent and warm water.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER, EXCEPT THE LID .
• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or a brush with metal bristles.
• When the Kettle is not in use, store in a dry place.
• Descale the kettle regularly.
• To minimise scale build-up, empty the kettle and rinse it thoroughly after each use.
