Before rst use
1. Remove any labels and/or swingtickets.
2. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body 1with liquid detergent and warm
water, rinse and dry.
3. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body 1, Lid 3and Filter 8with a
cloth, using liquid detergent and warm water.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
4. Ensure that the Filter 8(see inset) is inserted inside the Kettle behind
the Spout 2.
• Locate lug A of the Filter 8in the slot at the bottom of the spout
outlet. Depress tab C by pressing on B, then insert tab C in the slot at
the top of the spout outlet.
5. Follow the “How to use” instructions to boil the maximum amount of
water, then discard the water.
6. Repeat step 5 above.
How to use
1. Position the Base 10 on a level and stable surface; unwind the Mains
Lead 11 from the Base 10 to achieve the optimum length: please read
the CAUTIONS on siting and connecting to your mains electricity.
2. Press the Lid Release Button 5to release the Lid 3, then pull it fully
open .
3. Fill the Kettle as required - never less water than the Minimum (MIN)
level shown, or more than the Maximum (MAX) level on the Water
Level Indicator 6.
• DO NOT UNDERFILL OR OVERFILL.
4. Close the Lid 3by pushing it down.
5. Return the Kettle to the Base 10.
6. Plug the base Mains Plug 11 into a mains power socket and switch
the socket ON.
7. Switch the Kettle ON by moving the On/Off Switch 7downwards to
the “1” position - the Heating Indicators 9will illuminate blue while
the Kettle is heating.
8. The water will boil and then the Kettle will switch OFF automatically
- the Heating Indicators 9will extinguish.
9. The boiling sequence of the Kettle can be interrupted at any time by
moving the On/Off Switch 7backwards to the “0” position.
10. Switch off the mains socket and remove the Mains Plug 11 .
11. Pour water from the Spout 2of the Kettle, as required.

• TAKE CARE WITH VERY HOT WATER.
• Once the water has cooled, it can be reheated by pressing the On/Off
Switch 7. This will not function while the water is still hot.
• THE KETTLE HAS OVERHEATING PROTECTION, WHICH WILL
AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH IT OFF. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD TAKE
CARE NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BOIL DRY.
Cleaning & Care
• Allow the Kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body 1and Filter 8with liquid
detergent and warm water, rinse and dry.
• The Filter 8can be removed for cleaning. Depress tab C by pressing
on B, then pull out tab C from the slot at the top of the spout outlet.
Pull up lug A from the slot at the bottom of the spout outlet.
2. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body 1and Lid 3with a cloth, using
liquid detergent and warm water.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, metal objects or a brush with
metal bristles.
• When the Kettle is not in use, store in a dry place.
• Descale the Kettle regularly. Judge advises the use of
appliance descaler, available from all good multiples. Follow the
directions given on the packet.
• To minimise scale build-up, empty the Kettle and rinse it thoroughly
after each use.
Cautions
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
• Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
• Ensure that your home electrical supply corresponds to the
requirements of the appliance - see “Specications”.
• Do not connect the Mains Plug 11 into the socket, or use the
appliance, if your hands or the appliance are wet.
• Unplug the appliance whenever it is not in use.
• THE APPLIANCE MUST ALWAYS BE EARTHED - always connect to a
mains socket with an earth connection.
• Never leave the unit unattended when it is operating.

• The Mains Lead 11 should be positioned so as not to cause an
obstruction or to overhang the edge of the surface, where it could
accidentally be snagged or pulled by children.
• Do not use the Kettle outdoors.
• Do not place the Kettle close to a heat source.
• Ensure that the Mains Lead 11 is not near any hot surface.
• Pull the plug (do not pull Mains Lead 11 ) to disconnect from mains
socket.
• Do not pull the Mains Lead 11 to move the appliance.
• It is not recommended that the Kettle be used with an extension lead.
If this cannot be avoided, ensure that the extension lead is of the
correct electrical rating.
• As the Kettle becomes hot during use, take care when handling it and
use only the handle to lift.
• Do not tilt the Kettle backwards when lling or carrying it.
• The Kettle should be used only as instructed and for the purpose for
which it was intended; there is potential for injury or damage from
misuse.
• Do not use the Kettle to heat liquids other than clean water.
• Do not use the Kettle with a timer or programming device.
• Do not switch on or attempt to operate the Kettle if it appears to be
faulty in any way - contact Judge Customer Services at the address
given in the warranty section.
• Never attempt to make any repair to the Kettle yourself - contact
Judge Customer Services at the address given in the warranty section.
• DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
• Should the Kettle accidentally fall into water, unplug immediately
and do not use; contact Judge Customer Services at the address given
in the warranty section.
• Please keep your purchase receipt.
