AND REMOVE PACKING PIECES.

Before first use
• Site the Toaster on a firm level surface:
protect precious surfaces.
• Manufacturing taint - the Toaster needs
to be operated empty - on maximum
browning level (6) at least three times
before use. It is normal for smoke
and smells to be emitted during this
operation - manufacturing residues are
being removed.
How to use
• Plug the Toaster into the Mains Supply.
• Select the degree of toasting require by
turning the Browning Control

(1-6).

• Place the bread slices into the Toaster
Carriage Slot

. Do not jam bread
into the Carriage Slots: if the bread is
oversize, it is better to trim it before
toasting.
• Activate the Toaster by pushing the
Toaster Lever

down until it locks
into place. Heating will commence as
soon as the lever is lowered. To STOP
toasting at any time, press the CANCEL
button

.
• When toasting is finished the Toaster
will automatically lift the bread and
stop heating.
• If only one slice is being toasted, the
front slot should be used.
Defrost

• Press this button after you have
depressed the lever if you are heating
frozen bread. It will extend the cooking
time.

Re-heat

• Press this button after you have
depressed the lever if you want to re-
heat your toast. It will warm slices of
pre-cooked bread without over toasting.
Emptying the crumb tray
• Allow the
Toaster to
completely cool
before removing
and replacing the
Crumb Tray

• The Tray pulls out from the bottom of
the casing

on the left. Empty the
Crumb Tray regularly.
Cleaning
• Ensure that the Toaster is unplugged
and completely cool before cleaning.
Wipe the Casing

with a warm
damp soapy cloth: do not use abrasive
cleaners or pads.
Cautions
• The Power Cord

must be positioned
so that it cannot be unintentionally
caught and pulled.
• The Toaster should be sited away from
soft furnishings or any other items that
could burn.
• Ensure the Toaster Voltage and Power
details match your home Supply.
• Do not operate with wet hands or allow
the Power Cord and Plug

to get wet.
• Do not operate the Toaster if the
Power Cord

has become damaged
- contact Judge Customer Services at
the address given under the Warranty
details.
• The Toaster has a Cable Tidy

built
into the underside - use this to keep the
Trailing Cord as short as possible.
• Do not let the Power Cord

trail
within the reach of children.
• The Toaster is not intended for use
by children or the elderly and infirm
without supervision.
CAUTIONS (CONTINUED)
• Do not let children play with the
Toaster.
• Never leave a Toaster unattended when
it is heating.
• Always disconnect the Toaster from the
Mains supply when not in use.
• Do not insert metal objects such as
knives or kitchen foil into the Toaster
Carriage Slots.
• The Toaster must be unplugged and
allowed to cool before cleaning or
removal of jammed food.
• Do not use this Toaster if it is
malfunctioning: contact Judge
Customer Services at the address given
under the Warranty details.
• The polished steel parts at the top
of the Toaster Carriage Slots

will
become hot during and after operation.
Take care to keep hands away from
these parts. Use the protective Casing
to move the Toaster.
• The Toaster is intended for toasting
single toast slices only.
• Do not cover the area above the
Toaster Carriage Slots
2
as this could
lead to overheating.
• Do not use this device outdoors.
• Do not attempt to repair this unit
yourself - contact Judge Customer
Services at the address given under the
Warranty details.

• The plug is wired - Green & Yellow = Earth, Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live.
A 13A approved (BS1362) fuse must be used. THE TOASTER MUST BE ‘EARTHED’.
Judge 2 Year Domestic Electrical Guarantee
The Judge Guarantee covers the product to be free of defects in
materials and workmanship for a period of TWO YEARS from the date
of original retail purchase. During this period, JUDGE will, at their
option, repair or replace defective parts of the product, or replace the
product, providing the Use Care and Safety Advice have been followed.
The Guarantee does not cover damage, defect or failure caused by or
resulting from accidents, external damage, alteration, modification,
abuse, misuse or misapplication.
The Guarantee does not cover any damage caused by taking the
appliance apart yourself, or attempting to repair the appliance
yourself.
THE PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY.
Please keep your Purchase Receipt and contact us directly if you
encounter any problems with your product.
HORWOOD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF
