4. Do n't shor t between the LIVE side ground and ISOL ATE D
(NEUTRAL) side ground or EARTH side ground when
repairing.
Some model's power circuit is partly different in the GND. The
diff er enc e of th e G ND i s sho wn b y th e LIV E : ( ") side GND, the
ISO LATE D( NEUTR AL) : ( #) side G ND and EARTH : ( $) side
GN D. D o n't sh or t b et we en th e LIV E sid e GND an d
ISO LATE D(NEUTRAL) side GND or EARTH side GND and
n ever m ea sure wit h a m ea suring a ppa r atus (oscillo scop e etc.)

If above note will not be kept, a fuse or any parts will be broken.
5. If any repair has been made to the chassis, it is recommended

REPLACEMENT OF MEMORY ICs

2. PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING MEMORY IC s
(1) Power off
Sw itch the p ower of f an d di sco nn ect t he pow e r plu g f rom t he w all out let.
(2) Replace ICs
Be sure to use memory ICs written with the initial data values.
(3) Power on
Con nect th e p ow er pl u g i nt o t he w all ou tlet and sw itch t he po we r on .
(4) Check and s et SY STEM CO NSTANT SET

1) Pr ess th e DI SPLAY key and the PICTURE MODE key of the REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT simultaneously.
2) The SERVICE MENU screen of Fig. 1 will be displayed.
3) W hile th e SE RV ICE MENU is d is pl ay ed , ag ai n p ress t he DI SPLAY key and
PICTURE MODE key simultaneously, and the SYSTEM CONSTANT SET
scr een of Fig. 2 w ill b e displ a ye d.
4) C heck th e s ettin g value s of the S YSTE M CO NSTANT S ET o f T abl e 1 If th e
valu e is di ffe re nt, sel ect the sett i ng it em with the MENU ▼/▲key, and set
th e co rrect val u e w ith t he MENU - / + k ey.

BEFORE STARTING SERVICE ADJUSTMENT

method using adjustment parts and components.
2. The adjustment with the REMOTE CONTROL UNIT is made
on the basis of the initia l setting values. The setting values
which adjust the screen to its optimum condition may differ
from the initial s etti ng v al ues.
