1.DUTYOFTAKINGCAREBYTHEUSER
ThecircularandprofiledknifesharpeningmachineRMSCNChasbeenconstructed
underconsiderationofanendangeringanalysisandcarefullselectionofobserved
harmonizednorms,aswellasfurtherspecifications.
TheRMSCNCmeetsthestatoftheartandgrantsamaximumofsafety.Thesafetycan
onlybeachievedindailywork,whenallnecessarystepsaretaken.Itisthedutyoftaking
carebytheusertoplanandcontrolthesesteps.
Theuserhastotakecarethat:
• themachineisusedasdirected(seechapter"Directeduse")
• themachineisusedinflawlessworkablecondition,especiallythesafety
installationsarecheckedregularlyfortheirfunction
• theoperationmanualisalwayskeptinareadablecondition,completeand
availablenearthemachine
• allsafetyandwarninginstructionsarenotremovedfromthemachineandkept
readable
• requestedpersonalsafetyequipmentfortheoperatorisavailableandused

2.DEMANDSOFTHEOPERATINGPERSONNEL
Onlypersonswhoarefamiliarwiththismanualandsafetyadvicesandtakenotice,are
allowedtoworkwiththecircularandprofiledknifesharpeningmachineRMSCNC.
3.TRANSPORT
ThecircularandprofiledknifesharpeningmachineRMSCNCisdeliveredinawooden
boxonpallet.Thegrossweightofthemachineisaround300Kg.Thetransportisdone
withapalletbyliftingcartorforklifttruckdirectlytotheinstallationsite.
Beforethefirststart,checkthemachinefortransportdamages!
Incaseofatransportdamage,immediatelycontacttheforwardingagencytoprotocolthe
damage.
Pleasepayattention:Thedeadlinesforclaimsarequiteshort!

Beforeplacingthemachineatitsfinalpositiononthefloor,screwinthemachinefeet
frombelow.Pleasepayattentionthatthemachineisalignmenthorizontal.Pleasecheck
withabubblelevel.Payattention,thatthespaceforthemachinegrantsavibrationfree
operation.
Nexttoconnectthecontrolunitwiththemachine,thereforeopentheblackcablepanel
ontherightsideofthemachine.
Foroperating,unscrewthebothscrewsbelow(M6)withanallenkey(4mm)andfoldthe
cablepanelcoverupwards.
Nowyoucanpullthroughthecableswiththeplugsandfixthecableconduitbyclosing
thepanel.Byfixingthebothscrewsthecableconduitisfixedtightandstrainrelieved.
Afteropeningthefrontdoor,theplugconnectioniscompleted(seebelow).

6.ENVIRONMENTALCONDITIONSFORSETUP
ThecircularandprofiledknifesharpeningmachineRMSCNCisexclusivelydestinedfor
sharpeningofcircularknifesorprofiledknifeswithamax.dia.of350mmrespectivelya
max.radiusof175mm.
TheprogrammingofthegrindingsoftwareisdoneasperDIN66025respectivelybya
providedsharpeningprogramme.Thesharpeningiscarriedoutbytheelectrospindleor
withtheairspindleforinternalgrinding.
Thedirectedusealsoincludesreadingandunderstandingtheoperationinstruction,the
programminginstruction,aswellasobservingofalladvisedspecifiedtherein.
Forallpersonalandmaterialdamages,arisingbynotintendeduse,notthe
manufacturer,buttheoperatorisresponsible.

Whenhandlingwithacircularorprofiledknife,maximumprecautionisdemanded.
Theseknivesmayassharpasarazorknife.Carelesshandlingcancauseseriousincised
wounding.
Alwayswearcutprotectiongloveswhenclampingorreleasingasharp
workpiece.
OnlystartaCMCprogrammewhenyouaresurethatthecorrectzeropointshavebeen
enteredandsaved.PerformatestrunoftheCNCprogramme(ensuresufficient
clearancetothegrindingwheel)beforethefirststart.
Programmingorprogrammingparametererrorscancauseconsiderablematerialdamage
tothemachine!
NeverplugorunplugaUSBdevice(e.g.USBstick)whensoftwareisrunning!TheJOG
Wheelcouldbedamaged!
Theprotectivecoversofthemachineprotecttheguides,spindlesandswitchesagainst
soilingandcoolinglubricants.Whencleaningthemachine,theprotectivecoversmaynot
bewashedoutwithcoolinglubricantorcleaningagent!
Themachinecanbefittedwithaspeedadjustablegrindingspindle;
whenchangingthegrindingwheel,complywiththemaximumpermissiblegrindingspeed
oftheabrasivewheel(m/sec.)andadaptthistothegrindingspindle.
Toohighaspeedcanresultintheburstingofthegrindingwheel,damagetothemachine
andinjury!!

Thecoolantcontainermustbefiled3/4ofitstotalvolumewithcoolant.Subsequently,the
pumpmustbevented.
Theminimumfilingheightistheupperedgeofthepump.
Thecoolantequipmentisconnectiontothemachinebymeansoftheblueelectrical
socket.
Toventthepump,openthepumpventscrew.
Basicinformationregardingcoolinglubricants:
Pleaseonlyusewatermiscibleemulsionsonamineraloilbasis.Syntheticproductscan
causeseriousdamagetothepaintcoating.Wedonotacceptanyliabilityforsuch
damages.Whentestingcoolinglubricants,pleaseobservetheprovisionsofthe
respectivemanufacturer.

ThestandardequipmentiftheRMSCNCincludesan(Ø100mm)aerosolsuction
connection.
TheRMSCNCisequippedwithtwodoorshalvesthatlockduringtheautomatic
operationmodewhentheprogramisrunning.
Ifthedoorisopen,switchingbetweentheoperationmodesmanualtoautomaticorfrom
manualtoMDIisnotpossible,respectively,uponopeningthedoor,theoperationmode
willswitchbacktomanual.

WARNING:
TheRMSCNCisfittedwithanFIswitch.Shouldthisswitchbetriggered,orshoulditno
longerbepossibletoswitchonthetriggeredFIswitch,thereisanelectricalproblem.No
furtherworkmaybeperformedonthemachineuntilanelectricianhasrepairedthe
electricalfault.Thedangerofanelectricshockposesadangertolife!

Afterthecontrolsboot,youseethestartupdisplay.Twomachineconfigurationsare
available:
1.KaindlROUND: isatwoaxesconfigurationforgrindingofcircularbladesor
innercylindricalgrinding.
2.KaindlRMSCNC: isathreeaxesconfigurationforgrindingofpunchblades.
NOTE:Everyconfigurationhasitsownindependentprogramfolder.TheCNCsoftware
EMC2isstartedbytappingtherespectiveimage.

ALIGNMENTOFTHECIRCULARORPROFILEDKNIFE
Byopeningthestarheadscrew(1),youcansetthegrindingangle.Forlessthan
120mm,thebladeangleissetcounterclockwise;over120mm,inaclockwisedirection.
Byopeningthestarheadscrew(2),youcanmovetheentiretakeupstandintheZ
directionandreclamp.
Pleaseensurethatyourcircularblade,respectivelypunchbladealwaysoperateswithin
thegrindingareainordertoensuretheanglepreservationacrosstheentireblade.
Thegrindingareaismarkedinred(seephoto).
Withregardsto3axesconfiguration:
Afterclampingtheworkpiece,areferencerunwiththeYaxismustbeexecuted!
