VHF wireless transmitter kit

To optimise the performance of this product, please read these operating instructions carefully to familiarise
yourself with the basic operations of this unit. Please retain them for future reference.This unit has been tested at
the factory before being shipped to you.
To prevent or reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. To prevent a fire
hazard, do not expose the unit to any naked flame sources. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or if it is
unlikely to be used for long periods of time.
The lightning flash symbol inside a triangle is to alert the user to the presence high voltage within the
unit’s enclosure that may be of sufficient power to constitute a risk of electrical shock to persons.
Caution: to prevent the risk of electric shock, do not attempt to open the unit. No user-serviceable parts
inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
The exclamation mark inside a triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating
and maintenance instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.
Select the installation location of your unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or locations subject to
vibration and excessive dust. Do not use the unit where there are extremes in temperature (below 41ºF / 5ºC or
exceeding 95ºF / 35ºC).
Unpacking and safety Please unpack your new product carefully. Your new product should reach you in perfect
condition. Please check that no damage has occurred during transit. If any damage is found, do not operate your
unit. Please contact the retailer you purchased it from immediately.

The Kam VHF Bodypack V2 uses one of the following VHF frequencies sets
Option 1: 175.0MHz / Option 2: 173.8MHz / Option 3: 174.8MHz / Option 4: 174.5MHz / Option 5: 174.1MHz
Bodypack transmitter
1. Input jack (connect the headset mic, lavalier mic or guitar lead)
2. Power LED indicator
3. Power On/Off switch
4. Battery compartment for 9V batteries
Bodypack transmitter operation
1. Connect either the headset mic, the lavalier/tie mic or the guitar lead to the bodypack via the input jack.
2. Switch on on your VHF wireless receiver (not supplied).
3. Check that the signal indicator is lit on your receiver to see if the radio signal is being received.
4. If the signal indicator is lit, begin singing, speaking or playing your instrument
5. During the performance, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position when the bodypack is not being used.
Notes on using your Kam VHF Bodypack V2
Kam VHF Bodypack V2 systems are compatible with the Kam KWM6 and KWM11 wireless systems. Please note
that there are several versions of each of these microphone systems available and that each one transmits and
receives using different VHF Frequencies. This is a beneficial situation because it means you can use several
transmitters at the same time in a single location… but it does mean that you need to ensure that you have
purchased a bodypack that transmits on the correct frequency for your receiver unit. If you have a dual channel
receiver, it uses two different frequencies (one for each transmitter) so if you want to use two bodypacks with it,
you'll need to ensure that each of your bodypacks uses one of these frequencies (you cannot use two transmitters
using the same frequency in a single location).
The transmitter
Always turn down the input level controls on your mixer then turn off the bodypack transmitter before making any
connections. The On/Off switch - always place this switch in the Off position when making any connections and
when the unit is not in use (to conserve the battery charge). When in the On position the unit should transmit audio
to the receiver unit. To Insert the battery; Slide open the battery compartment. Insert a 9V. Replace the battery

compartment cover. All wireless audio systems require a strong signal to achieve stable performance and this
requires a healthy battery. It is highly recommended that you use a fresh battery (or freshly charged rechargeable)
each time you use the unit. It is wise to always carry a spare battery with you to performances.
Input connection
Your bodypack features a 3.5mm minijack input socket with a threaded 'surefix' connector. Simply insert the plug
and screw it into place and it will not accidentally become disconnected during your performance. NOTE* The
cable for your lavalier or headset mic acts as an antenna so the wire should remain extended (not coiled) and as
straight as possible for best performance.
Using the headset mic
Connect the headset mic to the bodypack as described above. Put on the headset. Position the mic at the corner
of your mouth immediately to the side of your mouth and so that it does not rub against your cheek. Clip the
bodypack to your clothing (most people find their belt the best spot) in a location where it will not impede your
movement.
Using the lavalier mic
Connect the lavalier mic to the bodypack as described above. Use the clip to attach the mic to your clothing. Try to
find a postion approx 15cm from the mouth and without abrasion (i.e. try not to let clothing rub against the surface
of the mic). Clip the bodypack to your clothing in a location where it will not impede your movement (most people
find their belt the best spot).
Using the instrument connector
Attach the 3.5mm end of the supplied instrument cable to the bodypack. Connect the 1/4 inch jack end of the cable
to your guitar, bass guitar or acoustic instrument pickup. Clip the bodypack to your clothing in a location where it
will not impede your movement (most people find their belt or their guitar strap the best spots).
