• This Universal Car/Air Adapter is suitable for cars and airplanes only. Do
not plug the cigarette plug of the Universal Car/Air Adapter into any other
device or equipment. Otherwise, it could result in a risk of fire, injury to
persons, or damage to personal property.
• Avoid placing this product in direct sunlight, or in temperatures below
-4°F (-20°C) or over 158°F (70°C).
• Although this product incorporates a multiple-protection circuit. To be
absolutely certain of safe use, please adhere to avoid the following status:
1. Avoid operating in an environment exceeding 104°F (40°C) to prevent
activation of the temperature shut down protection circuit.
2. Avoid operating in temperatures below 32°F (0°C) so as to prevent the
power supply efficiency from declining.
3. Do not operate the Universal Car/Air Adapter with damaged input or
output cords or plugs.
4. The Voltage Plug is already selected and inserted for the Universal Car/Air
Adapter and is only suitable for your Apple Notebook.
5. This Universal Car/Air Adapter can support up to 72W continuously,
before using, please confirm the maximum required power of your
Apple Notebook.
6. Avoid plugging this Universal Car/Air Adapter into the cigaretter lighter of
the car before starting the car.

Notebooks tips are uniquely designed. If a tip does not fit in the appropriate
socket, this indicates that a mismatch occurred. Please carefully re-read the
User Manual. Do not force the tip into the Notebook or it can damage the
Universal Car/Air Adapter and Notebook.
• The Voltage Plugs are specifically designed for the Universal Car/Air
Adapter. The Voltage Plugs are different from Standard Fuses.
Standard Fuses should not be used with the Universal Car/Air Adapter.
Otherwise, it could result in a risk of fire, injury to persons, or damage
to personal property.
• Do not open the device or make any attempt to disassemble or
modify it. It could result in a risk of fire, injury to persons, or damage
to personal property.

This Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter is designed for most
Apple Notebook models, and contains:

Type G: OD 9.2mm, ID: 3.0mm

Notebook powered and recharged in a car or airplane. No need to carry
extra batteries. It is over 90% energy efficient. Its compact and sleek design
is lightweight at only 4.6 ounces.
The unique design of five multiple internal protection features are:

Selecting the proper tip
There are two tips in the package. You can identify the tip by the letters
labeled on the tips themselves (G and Q). Select the correct tip for
your Apple Notebook from the list on the previous page, or check our
website at www.kensington.com.
After selecting the proper tip, connect the tip to the Universal Car/Air
Adapter output cable.
If your Apple Notebook model is not listed on the previous page, please

Connecting our Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter
To determine which “Tip” is suitable for your Apple Notebook model,
refer to the list below:

Kensington provides a unique device called the Voltage Plug to set the
voltage for your Universal Car/Air Adapter. The Voltage Plug is already
inserted into your Universal Car/Air Adapter, do not remove. If the Voltage
Plug is removed, your Universal Car/Air Adapter will not work.
Caution: The correct Voltage Plug for your Apple Notebook is already selected,
do not remove. Incorrect voltage selection or tampering with the voltage could
result in a risk of fire, injury to persons, or damage to personal property.

Using our Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter
To use in a Car:
After you have completed the setup procedures, plug the tips of the
Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter into the power connector of the
Apple Notebook, and plug the other end into the cigarette lighter of the
car. Your Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter is now ready to use. The
indicator light from the Voltage Plug should be on as soon as you plug
into the cigarette lighter.
To use in a Airplane:
After you have completed the setup procedures, remove the cigarette plug
from the cable. The in-flight connector is inside the cigarette plug adapter.
Find the in-flight connector socket on your airline seat, and plug the in-flight
connector into the socket.
*Check with your airline to confirm availability of the EmpowerTM system
on your next flight.

Note: The Kensington Universal Car/Air Adapter has been tested and found to comply with the limits
for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide

generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance
with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this

1-Year Warrant
In the event the Universal Car/Air Adapter is not compatible with your Apple Notebook, we will refund
your purchase price. Please contact Kensington customer service at 800-235-6708. KENSINGTON
TECHNOLOGY GROUP (“KENSINGTON”) warrants this PRODUCT against defects in material and
workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the original date of purchase. KENSINGTON,
at its option, shall repair or replace the defective unit covered by this warranty. Please retain the dated
sales receipt as evidence of the date of purchase. You will need it for any warranty service.
In order to keep this warranty in effect, the product must have been handled and used as prescribed in
the instructions accompanying this warranty. This warranty does not cover any damage due to accident,
misuse, abuse, or negligence. This warranty is valid only if the product is used on the computer or system
specified on the product box. Please check product box for details, or call technical support.
Repair or replacement, as provided under this warranty, is your exclusive remedy. KENSINGTON shall
not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. Implied warranties of merchantability and
fitness for a particular purpose on this product are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty.
Some states/countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so
the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Some states/countries do not allow limitations on
how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you
