9. The next setting is for the HOLD function. The display should show YES/HOLD indicating the auto hold function is
enabled.
10. If the automatic hold function is enabled, the tester will automatically freeze the stable measured value. If this
function is disabled, the user will have to press the HOLD key to enable the function when needed.

14. The final setting is for the Reset function. The display should show NO/RST
15. Press the CAL key to enable or disable the function and press ENTER to confirm. Remember that enabling this
functions will restore the tester to factory default setting and erase all selected parameters.
16. The tester will automatically go to measurement mode.
DO CALIBRATION IN % SATURATION MODE
The KS-DO-10 pocket dissolved oxygen tester can be calibrated quickly in air. In the percentage saturation mode, the
tester is able to perform either 1 or 2 points calibration. For 1 point calibration, it is recommended to perform 100%
saturation calibration without the use of a calibration solution. For 2 points calibration, a zero oxygen solution is
required.
100% SATURATION CALIBRATION
1.1 Make sure the calibration setting is at 1 point calibration.
1.2 Make sure the dissolved oxygen probe is connected to the tester properly. Turn on the meter for 10 to 15 minutes
to polarize the sensor.

1.3 Press the CAL key. The display should show ‘CAL1/100%’
1.4 Hole the DO probe in the air or submerge the probe into air-saturated water for 3 to 5 minutes. Press ENTER to
confirm. Wait for the value to stabilize and the display should show ‘END’. Single point calibration is completed.
TWO POINTS CALIBRATION
2.1 Make sure to select 2 points calibration in the settings. You will need a zero oxygen solution for this task.
2.2 Repeat steps 1.2 to 1.4. When the first point of calibration is done, the display should show ‘CAL2/0%’ and the
tester will automatically proceed with the second calibration point.
2.3 Submerge the probe in the zero oxygen solution, stir the sensor greatly.
2.4 Press ENTER to confirm. Wait for the reading to stabilize (this can take up to 10 minutes). The display should then
show ‘END’ and the tester returns to measurement mode automatically to end the calibration process.
TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
The temperature is displayed together with the measurement for oxygen saturation. Temperature calibration is needed
to ensure that displayed temperature is accurate.
1. To begin, press the CAL key to enter setup menu.
2. Press ENTER until the display shows ‘°C/CAL’
3. Press the CAL key to enter the temperature calibration mode.
4. Use the CAL key to set the temperature value

MAKING DISSOLVE OXYGEN MEASUREMENTS
The KS-DO-10 is suitable for measuring the water, waste water, brine and other liquids. If the tester will be used to
measure liquids with high salinity such as sea water, remember to set the salinity coefficient setting before use.
Do note that the presence of certain gasses in the tested liquid such as chloride ammonium and carbon dioxide can
affect your DO measurement.
Samples that contains solvent, grease sulphide and others may damage or obstruct the membrane.
1. Press the MEAS/HOLD button to turn on the meter. Set the required unit, atmospheric pressure and salinity
coefficient in setup mode.
2. Remove the protective cap of the DO sensor
3. Submerge the probe up to its temperature sensor into the tested solution.
4. Wait for the measurement to stabilize and record the measurement.
HOLD FUNCTION
1. Pressing the HOLD key while in measurement mode will activate the hold function. The HOLD indicator will appear
on the display and further measurement readings will not be possible.
2. Press the HOLD key again to disable the hold function.
ELECTRODE SENSOR MAINTENANCE
1. It is recommended to keep the sensitive membrane of the sensor wet.
2. If the instrument will be kept in storage for a long time, rinse the probe’s cathode, anode and the membrane in
distilled water.
3. Use filter paper to strain the washed solution and replace the probe onto the tester.
