Please take the time to get acquainted with your T410 by reading this
Driver’s Handbook. We recommend that you read and understand this
handbook from beginning to end before you operate your T410.
Your handbook contains important information for the safe, ecient
operation and service of your T410. We urge you to become familiar with
the handbook’s contents and use it as a ready reference.
After you’ve read this handbook, it should be stored in the cab for
convenient reference and remain with this truck when sold.
Your Kenworth may not have all the features or options mentioned in this
manual. Therefore,you should paycareful attentiontothe instructionsthat
relate to your vehicle. In addition, if your vehicle is equipped with special
equipment or options not discussed in this handbook, consult your dealer
or the manufacturer of the equipment.
Allinformation containedinthis handbookis based onthe latest production
informationavailable at the timeofpublication. KenworthTrucksreserves
the right to make changes at any time without notice.

The handbook is divided into four sections:
SECTION 1 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS include routine checks and
operating instructions in a logical sequence, from walk-around inspection
to nal shut down.
SECTION 2 - PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE will guide you through the
basic operation required to keep your vehicle in good operating condition.
More detailed technical information can be found in the Electronic
Customised Maintenance Manual.
SECTION 3 - MAINTENANCE & LUBRICATION SCHEDULES include
complete lubrication specications and schedules, recommended service
information and intervals, and the Kenworth Preventive Maintenance
Program for normal operating conditions.
SECTION 4 - SERVICE RECORDS for each 10,000km service inspection
fromthe FirstService InspectionRecordthrough tothe 100,000kmservice.
These are duplicated for the dealership to keep a copy in their le. After
the 100,000km service there are pages for each 10,000km service to be
recorded.
In addition, a Driver’s Check List is included for your convenience on
pages 12.

to safety, emission, lighting and noise control systems.

Some equipment described in this manual is optional and not included
in the base price of the vehicle. Kenworth Trucks undertake a continual
product improvement program, therefore specications and data contained
in this handbook are subject to change without notice.
If there are any doubts about the safe operation of your Kenworth truck,
contact your nearest authorised Kenworth dealer.
To ensure optimum performance and safe operation of your vehicle,
Kenworth recommends it is regularly inspected and serviced by an
authorised Kenworth dealer.

Anumber of alerting messages are used in this manual. Read and follow
them. They are for your protection and information. These messages can
help you avoid personal injury and costly damage to your vehicle.
WARNINGS
The safety message following this symbol provides a warning against
operating procedures which could cause death or personal injury. They
could also cause equipment or property damage. The alert will identify the
hazard, how to avoid it, and the probable consequence of not avoiding
the hazard.
Example:
Do notcarry additionalfuel containers in your vehicle. Fuel containers,
either full or empty, may leak or explode, and cause or feed a re.
Do not carry extra fuel containers. Even empty ones are dangerous.
Failure to comply may result in death or personal injury.
CAUTIONS
The safety alert following this symbol and word provides a caution against
operating procedures which could cause equipment or property damage.
The alert will identify the hazard, how to avoid it, and the probable
consequence of not avoiding the hazard.
Example:
Continuing to operate your vehicle with insucient oil pressure will cause
serious engine damage. Failure to comply may result in equipment or
property damage.
NOTES
The alert following this symbol and word provides important information
that is not safety related but should be followed. The alert will highlight
things that may not be obvious and is useful to your ecient operation of
the vehicle.
Example:
Pumping the accelerator will not assist in starting the engine.

Do not drink alcohol and drive. Your reexes, perceptions, and
judgment can be aected by even a small amount of alcohol. You
could have a serious or even fatal accident, if you drive after drinking.
Do not drink and drive or ride with a driver who has been drinking.
