•Usefullnames(firstandlastnames)vs.shortorsingle-

vs.“Home”).
•Avoidusingspecialcharacters,emojis,andhyphenated
names(@,&,#,/,-,*,+,etc.).
•Avoidusingacronyms(“Emergency”vs.“ICE”or“InCase
ofEmergency”)orwordswithallcapitalletters.
•Spellwordscompletely;systemwillnotrecognize

Power Liftgate Opening Height Adjustment:
Theheightsettingofafullyopenedliftgatecanbeadjustedbythefollowingsteps:
1.Positiontheliftgatemanuallytothepreferredheight.
2.PressthePowerLiftgateClosebutton Fformorethan3seconds.
3.Asystembeepwillsoundtwiceindicatingtheheightsettinghasbeensaved.

TheSmartLiftgatewithAutoOpenandClosecanopenorclosetheLiftgateautomaticallywhen
thedriverapproachesorleavesthevehicle.ForSmartLiftgatewithAutoOpenandCloseto
operate,theAutoOpenandClosefeaturesmustfirstbeenabledinVehicleSettings.
Automatically open:WhentheSmartKeyfobisonyourpersonandyouarenearthebackof
thevehicle,withincloseproximity,thehazardlightswillblinkandachimewillsoundforabout
3secondsasanalertthattheSmartLiftgateisabouttoopen.Thenthealertsystemwillblink
andchime2additionaltimesbeforeopeningtheSmartLiftgate.
Automatically close: WhentheSmartKeyfobisonyourpersonandyouleavethevehicle,
thechimewillsound3timesasanalertthattheSmartLiftgateisabouttoclose.Thenthealert
systemwillchime2additionaltimesbeforeclosingtheSmartLiftgate.
Keep in mind:
ThefeaturemustbeenabledinVehicleSettingsfirstinorderforittofunctionasoutlinedabove.
Lane Following Assist (LFA)8
LFAisdesignedtohelpensurethatthevehiclestayscenteredinitslaneAbymonitoringthe
detectedlanemarkingsaheadandadjustingthesteering.
Whendriving,LFAcanbeswitchedonandoffbypressingtheDrivingAssistbuttonE.When
turnedON,theInstrumentClusterindicatorwillinitiallyilluminateWHITE.ItwillremainWHITE
aslongasthesystemdoesnotdetectthelanemarkers.WhenLFAdetectsthelanemarkersand
canassistthesteering,theLFAiconwillilluminateGREENB.
LFA will operate only when these conditions are met:
•LFArecognizesbothsidesofthelanemarkersthevehicleistravelingin.
•Thevehicleistravelingslowerthan120mph.
LFA User Settings:
•Withthevehicleatastandstill,thegearshiftinPark,andtheignitiononortheEngineStart/
StopbuttonintheONposition,gotoUserSettings intheInstrumentCluster,pressthe
Modebutton
ContheSteeringWheel,andselectUserSettings.
•To enable LFA: FromUserSettings,presstheMove(OK)buttonDup/downandSelectDriver

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)8
FCAisdesignedtodetectandmonitoravehicleaheadordetectapedestrianintheroadwaythrough
frontviewcamerarecognitionandfrontradarsignalsand,incertainconditions,canwarnthedriver
thatacollisionisimminentand,ifnecessary,temporarilyapplyemergencybraking.
IfFCAdetectsapotentialcollision,FCAemitsanaudiblewarningandvisualalertontheInstrument
Cluster A.Ifthesystemdetectsthatthecollisionriskhasincreased,FCAmayautomaticallyapplythe
brakestoreduceyourspeed,potentiallyhelpingtoreducetheeffectsofapossiblecollision.
FCA User Settings:
•FCAisONbydefaultinmostKiamodels.FCAcanbeactivatedordeactivatedbygoingtotheUser
SettingsintheInstrumentClusterortheVehicleSettings*intheinfotainmentsystem.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)8
BCAusesrear-cornerradarsensorsintherearbumpertomonitorandwarnthedriverincertain
situationsifitdetectsanapproachingvehicleinthedriver’sblindspotareaandbeforechanging
lanes.Initially,BCAprovidesBlind-SpotCollisionWarning(BCW)whenitdetectsapotentialcollision
withavehicle,emittinganaudiblewarningandvisualalertontheoutsiderearviewmirrors.Ifthe
systemdetectsthatthecollisionriskhasincreased,BCAautomaticallyappliestheopposite-sidefront
braketotryandmitigateapotentialcollision.
1st-stage:WhenanothervehicleisdetectedwithintheBCWwarningboundaryA,anindicator
willilluminateontheoutsiderearviewmirrorsB.
2nd-stage: Whenthe1st-stagewarningisonandthedriveractivatesaturnsignal,aflashing
indicatorwillilluminateontheoutsiderearviewmirrorsandthesystemwillsoundawarning.
3rd-stage: Whenthe1st-stagewarningisonandthe2nd-stagewarninghasalreadyoccurred,

4.Toreleasetheseatandtumbleitforward,pullonthebottomcenterstrap
D,thenremovetheseat.
Installing Tumble Seat:
1.Makesurethefrontseatsareallthewayforward.
2.PlaceandaligntheseatproperlyontheflooranchorsE.
3.Lowertheseatandpushdownfirmlyuntilitclicksintoplace.
4.EnsuretheseatislatchedsecurelybycheckingtheGREENindicatorF.
5.PullupthecenterseatbackreclinestrapsCorB,lifttheseatbackbackward
untilitlocks(clicks)intoplace.
6.Replacetheheadrestandreturntheseatbelttoitsproperposition.

2.Presstheseatdownuntilitclickstoensurethatitislockedintoplace.
3.PullonthestrapEtoraisetheseatback.
4.Adjusttheheadresteitherupordownuntilitisintheproperpositionforyou.
