Boom Height
Lower the boom height to use the
Swedish Helparm with patients in a prone
position. (Caution should be taken to
avoid the “boom” from dropping once
the mounting bolts have been loosened).
Turning the arm angle “out” will
provide assistance for extension and
resistance to flexion.
Turning the arm angle “in” will provide
assistance for flexion and resistance to
extension.
Adjust the stop plates to pre-set the
distance of travel for arm extension/
flexion.
Extend the arm to provide assistance to
extension and resistance to flexion, or
retract the arm to provide resistance to
extension and assistance to flexion.
Adjust the eyelet screw distally (toward
wrist) to provide assistance lifting the
hand.
Adjust the eyelet screw proximal (toward
the elbow) to provide assistance lifting
the shoulder.

Wheelchair: Forward placement
Retract the arm length bar for resistance
to extension and assistance in flexion.
Wheelchair: Back placement:
Extend the arm to provide assistance for
reach extension and resistance in reach
flexion.
The depth that the wheelchair is posi-
tioned inside the base will affect the arm
length adjustment for assistance/
resistance to extension and/or flexion.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. If the cord(s) is damaged, do ot operate the Swedish Helparm u til it is replaced.
2. Do ot overload the Swedish Helparm (max. 3 kg (6.6 pou ds) i each cord).
UNPACKING - MOUNTING
1. Remove all packi g materials. DO NOT use a k ife or other sharp i strume t to avoid damagi g the co te ts.
2. I spect the u it carefully a d check for a y tra sport damage.
3. Follow the mou ti g i structio s step by step, a d make sure that all the screws a d uts are tighte ed.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Check the following at regular intervals (every third month)
1. Wear a d tear i cord a d k otted e ds.
2. Make sure all the pulleys rotate easily.
3. E sure that all locki g devices for adjustme t are i good order a d fu ctio i g properly.
