Before You Begin
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury. Cast iron baths are extremely heavy. Obtain sufficient help to
carefully lift or move the bath.
CAUTION: Risk of product or property damage. Do not support the bath by the rim. Provide
adequate support under the feet.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Carefully inspect the bath for damage before installing.
Ensure proper access to the final plumbing connections before installing the bath.
This guide includes instructions for both freestanding and drop-in installation. Follow the
instructions that apply to your particular installation.
Provide properly dimensioned framing for drop-in installations.
Install the bath to an adequately supported, level subfloor. Consider using shims if the floor is
uneven.
To simplify future maintenance, ensure all plumbing connections around the bath are easily
accessible.
This bath conforms to ANSI Standard A112.19.1. All dimensions are nominal.

1. Prepare the Site
NOTE: Make sure the floor will support a minimum of 1140 lbs (517 kg). This is the combined weight of
the water-filled bath with one bather.
Make sure the flooring offers adequate support for your bath.
Verify the subfloor is flat and level.
For drop-in or raised-deck installations:
Frame the floor or construct 2x4 or 2x6 stud framing according to the roughing-in information.
Ensure that there is a 1/16″(2 mm) gap between the finished deck/floor surface so the bath does
not rest on the rim. Carefully lay out and cut the rough deck material.
For freestanding installations:
Install the finished flooring and wall materials.
For all installations:
Position the plumbing according to the roughing-in information.
Cap the supplies and check for leaks.

2. Prepare the Bath
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury. Cast iron baths are extremely heavy. Obtain sufficient help to
carefully lift or move the bath.
CAUTION: Risk of product or property damage. Do not support the bath by the rim. Provide
adequate support under the feet.
For all installations:
Remove the bath from its carton and place it on a clean drop cloth or other protective floor covering
to prevent damage to the bath or floor.
For freestanding installations:
IMPORTANT! The two front legs on the drain end of the bath must be installed first. Obtain sufficient
help to lift the drain end of the bath to allow sufficient clearance for attachment.
Insert the head of the fastening bolt into the slot on the underside of the bath, as illustrated.
Place the leg, beveled washer, then nut onto the bolt. Using an adjustable wrench, tighten the nut to
secure the leg to the bath.
Insert the head of the leveling bolt through the bottom of the leg upward, as shown. Secure the
leveling bolt with a washer.
Wrench tighten a washer to the leveling bolt to secure the leveling bolt to the leg.
Repeat this procedure to install the remaining legs.
For all installations:
Install the drain to the bath according to the drain manufacturer’s instructions. Do not connect the
trap at this time.
Position a clean drop cloth or similar material in the bottom of the bath. Be careful not to scratch the
surface of the bath.
Move the bath into place.
Insert the drain tailpiece into the trap.

3. Level the Bath
CAUTION: Risk of product or property damage. Do not support the bath by the rim. Provide
adequate support under the feet.
IMPORTANT! The bath must be level and resting on all four feet/legs.
Verify the bath is level around the perimeter of the bath rim. If the bath is not level:
For drop-in installations
Fit metal shims under the bath feet as needed. If the feet are not accessible from the back or side,
move the bath in and out to gain access.
For freestanding installations
Adjust the leveling bolts on the bottom of each leg as needed.
4. Install the Plumbing
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Make sure a watertight seal exists on all bath drain connections.
NOTE: Provide access to all plumbing connections to simplify future maintenance.
Connect the trap to the drain according to the drain manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the faucet valving and the riser tubes or wall-mount kit according to the faucet
manufacturer’s instructions.
Open the hot and cold water supplies and check all connections for leaks.
Run water into the bath and check the drain connections for leaks.
Fill the bath to the overflow and check for leaks.
5. Complete the Installation
For Drop-in Installations
Cover the framing with water-resistant wall material.
Seal the joints between the bath rim edges and the water-resistant wall material with silicone
sealant.
Tape and plaster the water-resistant wall material.

Complete the Installation (cont.)
Install the finished wall. Seal the joints between the bath rim and the finished wall with silicone
sealant.
Allow the silicone sealant to set before using the bath. Refer to the silicone sealant manufacturer’s
instructions for set time.

Avant de commencer
ATTENTION : Risque de blessures corporelles. Les baignoires en fonte sont très lourdes. Demander

Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux.
Examiner soigneusement la baignoire pour en déceler tout dommage avant l’installation.
Assurer un bon accès aux connexions finales de plomberie avant d’installer la baignoire.
Ce guide comprend des instructions pour des installations autoportantes et encastrées. Suivre les
instructions qui s’appliquent particulièrement à votre installation.
Fournir un cadrage proprement dimensionné pour des installations encastrées.
Cette baignoire doit avoir le support nécessaire sur un sol nivelé. Considérer d’utiliser des cales si le
sol n’est pas nivelé.
Pour simplifier une future maintenance, s’assurer que toutes les connexions de plomberie autour de
la baignoire sont facilement accessibles.
Cette baignoire est conforme à la norme Standard ANSI A112.19.1. Toutes les dimensions sont

1. Préparer le site
REMARQUE : S’assurer que le sol supportera un minimum de 1140 lbs (517 kg). Ceci est le poids combiné
de la baignoire remplie d’eau avec un baigneur.
S’assurer que le sol offre un support adéquat pour la baignoire.
S’assurer que le plancher soit plat et nivelé.
Pour des installations encastrées ou sur podium.
Encadrer le sol, ou construire un cadrage avec des montants de 2x4 ou de 2x6 suivant l’information
du plan de raccordement. S’assurer qu’il y ait un espace de 1/16″(2 mm) entre la surface du
comptoir/sol fini de manière à ce que la baignoire ne repose pas sur le rebord. Disposer et découper
soigneusement le matériau du comptoir brut.
Pour des installations autoportantes:
Installer le sol fini ainsi que les matériaux du mur.
Pour toutes les installations:
Positionner la plomberie selon l’information du plan du raccordement.
Boucher les alimentations et vérifier s’il y a des fuites.

2. Préparer la baignoire
ATTENTION : Risque de blessures corporelles. Les baignoires en fonte sont très lourdes. Demander
suffisamment d’aide pour soulever ou déplacer la baignoire.
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du produit. Ne pas soulever la baignoire par le rebord.
Fournir un support adéquat sous les pieds.
Pour toutes les installations:
Retirer la baignoire de son emballage et la placer sur un chiffon de protection pour éviter
d’endommager le sol ou la baignoire.
Pour des installations autoportantes:
IMPORTANT ! Les deux pieds avants de l’extrémité du drain de la baignoire doivent être installés en
premier. Obtenir suffisamment d’aide pour soulever l’extrémité du drain de la baignoire pour permettre un
dégagement suffisant pour la fixation.
Insérer la tête d’un boulon de fixation dans l’encoche sous la baignoire, tel qu’illustré.
Placer le pied, la rondelle biseautée, puis l’écrou sur le boulon. En utilisant une clé à molette, serrer
l’écrou pour sécuriser le pied à la baignoire.
Insérer la tête du boulon de mise à niveau dans le bas du pied vers le haut, tel qu’indiqué. Sécuriser
le boulon de mise à niveau avec une rondelle.
Serrer à clé une rondelle au boulon de mise à niveau pour le sécuriser au pied.
Répéter cette procédure pour installer les pieds restants.
Pour toutes les installations:
Installer le drain à la baignoire selon les instructions. Ne pas connecter le siphon à ce moment.
Positionner un linge propre ou matière similaire à la base de la baignoire. Faire attention de ne pas
rayer la surface de la baignoire.
Mettre la baignoire en place.
Insérer la pièce de raccordement du drain dans le siphon.

3. Niveler la baignoire
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du produit. Ne pas soulever la baignoire par le rebord.
Fournir un support adéquat sous les pieds.
IMPORTANT ! La baignoire doit être nivelée et doit reposer sur ses quatre pieds.
Vérifier que la baignoire soit nivelée autour du périmètre de son rebord. Si la baignoire n’est pas
nivelée:
Pour installations encastrées:
Placer des cales métalliques sous les pieds de la baignoire selon le besoin. Si les pieds ne sont pas
accessibles par l’arrière ou le côté, déplacer la baignoire vers l’intérieur et l’extérieur pour gagner
l’accès.
Pour des installations autoportantes
Ajuster les boulons de mise à niveau à la base de chaque pied selon le besoin.
4. Installer la plomberie
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du matériel. S’assurer qu’un joint étanche existe sur toutes
les connexions du drain de baignoire.
REMARQUE : Prévoir un accès à toutes les connexions de la plomberie pour faciliter tout entretien futur.
Connecter la trappe au drain selon les instructions du fabricant.
Installer les valves du robinet et le tubes d’élévation ou kit de montage mural conformément aux
instructions du fabricant.
Ouvrir les alimentations d’eau chaude et froide et vérifier s’il y a des fuites.
Laisser couler l’eau dans la baignoire et vérifier s’il y a des fuites dans les connexions du drain.
Remplir la baignoire au trop plein et vérifier s’il y a des fuites.
5. Compléter l’installation
Pour des installations encastrées
Recouvrir le cadrage avec du matériau hydrorésistant.
Sceller les joints entre le rebord de la baignoire et le mur hydrorésistant à l’aide de silicone.
Coller avec du ruban et appliquer le matériau hydrorésistant du mur.
