Before You Begin
Please read all instructions before you begin.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Before installation, unpack the new faucet trim and inspect it for
damage. Return it to the carton until installation.
Install the required valves, K-438-K-NA or K-P438-K-NA, prior to
installing the product. Refer to the installation instructions packed
with the valves.
This product is designed for installation to a finished deck or
directly to the fixture rim.
If installing to the bath deck, install the finished deck material
before installing this product.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of
products without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Remove the Guard and Cap
WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Supply lines may be
pressurized. Do not lean over the diverter body while turning or
removing the guard or cap.
Make sure that the valves are closed. (Cold = fully
counterclockwise; hot = fully clockwise.)
Turn off the main water supply.
Wrap a rag around the cap to prevent water spray.
IMPORTANT! Water may spray from the diverter body when you
remove the cap.
Carefully remove the cap.
Discard the guard and cap.

2. Install the Spout
IMPORTANT! Keep the diverter body and tube clean to avoid
damage to the O-ring seal.
Install the lift rod into the threaded rod in the diverter body.
Make sure that the lift rod bottoms out against the threaded rod.
It may be necessary to lift up and hold the diverter body’s
threaded rod with a pair of pliers during this install.
Install the diverter tube over the lift rod into the diverter body.
Loosen the spout setscrew until it is clear of the inside wall of the
spout.
Apply a ring of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
underside of the spout base according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Position the spout over the lift rod, diverter tube, and diverter
body. Carefully press down until the spout contacts the finished
deck.
Rotate the spout until it is aligned to face straight forward.
Tighten the setscrew.
Make sure the O-ring is in place on the base of the plug button
and push the plug button into place over the setscrew.
Install the lift knob onto the lift rod.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.

3. Install the Handles
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
bottom of the adapter according to the putty manufacturer’s
instructions.
Thread an adapter onto the valve.
Install stem extension and screw. Securely tighten.
Fit a handle assembly over the valve, and align it with the
setscrew hole toward the wall. Orient the lever handle with the
lever pointing away from the spout while in the closed position.
Tighten the setscrew.
Press a plug button into the setscrew hole.
Remove any excess plumbers putty.
Repeat with the second handle.

4. Installation Checkout
Verify that the handle valves are closed. (Hot = clockwise; cold =
counterclockwise.)
Make sure that all connections are tight.
Remove the aerator assembly.
Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks.
Turn on the hot and cold valves and run water through the spout
to remove debris. Check for leaks.
Confirm proper diverter operation.
Turn the hot and cold handles to the off position and then back to
the on position. Verify that the water flow is diverted back to the
spout.
Close the hot and cold valves to turn off the water.
Remove any debris from the aerator.
Reinstall the aerator assembly.

Avant de commencer
Veuillez lire toutes les instructions avant de commencer.
Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux.
Avant l’installation, déballer la garniture du nouveau robinet et
l’examiner pour en déceler tout dommage. Remettre le robinet
dans l’emballage jusqu’à l’installation.
Installer les valves requises, K-438-K-NA ou K-P438-K-NA, avant
d’installer le produit. Se référer aux instructions d’installation
emballées avec les valves.
Ce produit est conçu pour une installation sur un comptoir fini
ou directement sur le rebord de l’appareil sanitaire.

matériau du comptoir fini avant d’installer ce produit.

1. Retirer le garde et le capuchon
AVERTISSEMENT : Risque de blessures corporelles. Les lignes
d’alimentation peuvent être pressurisées. Ne pas se pencher sur
le corps de l’inverseur en tournant ou retirant le renfort ou le
couvercle.
Vérifier que les valves soient fermées. (Froid = complètement vers
la gauche; chaud = complètement vers la droite.)
Fermer l’alimentation d’eau principale.
Enrouler un torchon autour du bouchon pour empêcher l’eau de
gicler.
IMPORTANT ! L’eau pourrait gicler du corps de l’inverseur lorsque
le bouchon est retiré.
Retirer délicatement le bouchon.
Jeter le renfort et le bouchon.

2. Installer le bec
IMPORTANT ! Garder le corps de l’inverseur et le tube propres afin
d’éviter un endommagement du joint torique.
Installer la tige de levage dans la tige filetée du corps de
l’inverseur. S’assurer que la tige de levage repose contre la tige
filetée. Il peut être nécessaire de soulever et de maintenir la tige
filetée du corps de l’inverseur avec des pinces durant cette
installation.
Installer le tube inverseur sur la tige de levage dans le corps de
l’inverseur.
Desserrer la vis de retenue du bec jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit dégagée
de l’intérieur de la paroi interne du bec.
Appliquer du mastic de plombier ou équivalent au-dessous de la
base du bec selon les instructions du fabricant du mastic.
Positionner le bec sur la tige de levage, le tube inverseur et le
corps de l’inverseur. Presser délicatement vers le bas jusqu’à ce
que le bec se mette en contact avec le comptoir fini.
Pivoter le bec jusqu’à ce qu’il soit aligné de face.
Serrer la vis de retenue.
S’assurer que le joint torique est en place à la base du bouchon et
presser ce dernier en place sur la vis de retenue.
Installer le bouton de levage sur la tige de levage.
Retirer tout excédent de mastic de plombier ou de joint
d’étanchéité.
