KH 2902
Intended Use
This Multi-Purpose Metal Detector is intended for use in the locating of electrical
cables and metal objects, such as metal pipelines or beams. The appliance is inten-
ded for domestic use only. Do not use it for commercial purposes.
Safety information
Risk of personal injury!
• Do not use the appliance at locations where there is a risk of fire or explosion,
e.g. in the vicinity of inflammable liquids or gases.
• This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with re-
stricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience
and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their
safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Warning against damage to the appliance!
• NEVER subject the appliance to rain. Do not use the appliance in wet or moist
environments.
• Do not place objects containing fluids, e.g. flower vases, on the appliance.
• Do not place any open sources of fire, like candles, on the device.
• Do NOT use the appliance to determine the alternating voltage in exposed
or non-insulated power cables.
• Do NOT use the appliance as a substitute for a Voltmeter.
The appliance does not always recognize all pipes and power cables.
The following conditions can contribute to inexact results:
- very thick walls
- weak battery
- deeply laid power cables or pipework
- shielded cables
- thick walls with thin pipes or power cables
- walls panelled with metal sheets
- very moist conditions

• This appliance cannot detect/locate cables in electrical circuits,
- which are isolated from the mains supply.
- through which direct current flows.
- which are used for computer or telecommunications systems.
• With this appliance pipework made of plastic or similar materials cannot be
detected, only pipework made of metal.
• No liability will be accepted for damage caused by manipulation of the ultra-
sound transmitter/receiver and through disregard of the safety instructions.
Interaction with batteries
• Leaking batteries can cause damage to the appliance. If you do not intend
to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.
• Should the batteries leak, wear protective gloves and clean the battery
compartment with a dry cloth.
• Keep batteries away from children. Children can put batteries into their
mouths and swallow them. Should a battery ever be swallowed, IMMEDIATELY
seek medical assistance.

Unpacking
Take the Multi-Purpose Metal Detector from its packaging. Remove all transport
restraints and packaging materials.
Inserting the battery
1. Open the battery compartment 5at the rear of the Multi-Purpose Metal
Detector.
2. Place the 9V block battery onto the contacts. Pay heed to the correct polarity.
3. Lay the tape for removal of the battery underneath the 9V block battery and
press it into the battery compartment 5.
Warning:
Ensure that the wires are not trapped in any way. This could irreparably damage
the appliance.
4. Close the battery compartment 5. The battery compartment lid must click in
audibly.

Detecting metals and electrical power lines
Tips:
• Before using the appliance for this task, first test it by locating a pipeline or
electrical power cable at a known position.
• In cases of doubt, always consult a qualified building contractor.
Tips:
To enable a power cable to be detected by the appliance, its circuit must be
under power. If you wish to trace for example the cable route from light switch
to lamp, switch the lamp on.
1. Place the function switch 3into the position METAL for locating metals and
into the position VOLTAGE for locating power cables.
2. Press the detector with the measuring head 2vertically against the wall to
be examined, then hold the button PUSH 4 down (the red LED 1glows weakly).
3. Now slowly slide the detector in this position over the wall.
4. Should there be a metal object / a power cable close to the measuring head 2,
the red LED 1glows more brightly and several signal tones sound one after
the other.
• In this case, release the button PUSH 4and then press it again, to reactivate
the detection process.

• The closer the measuring head 4comes to the metal object / the power cable,
the shorter is the interval between the signal tones.
• When a constant signal tone is audible, the metal object / power cable is
now directly below the measuring head 2of the detector.
6. Continue moving the detector along the wall until the red LED 1again glows
weaker and the signal tones are sounded at longer intervals, this will help
determine the exact position and bearing of the metal object / the power cable.
Attention!
Before boring a hole in the wall, also check to ensure that there is not a cable carrying
alternate current located under the surface. Therefore, after detecting metals, ALWAYS
carry out an additional search for power cables!
Cleaning and storage
• Store the appliance at a dry and frost-free location.
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the
battery from the battery compartment.
• Clean the appliance with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents. These could damage the
housing.

Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact
your waste disposal centre.
Disposal of batteries/accumulators
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in household waste.
Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site of
his community/city district or at a retail store.
The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batteries are disposed of in a
non-polluting manner. Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
Dispose of the packaging materials in an environmentally responsible
manner.

Määräystenmukainen käyttö
Varustettu monitoimimittauslaite on tarkoitettu sähköjohtojen ja metallikohteiden,
kuten esimerkiksi metalliputkien tai metallikannattimien paikantamiseen. Tämä lai-
te on tarkoitettu ainoastaan yksityistarkoituksiin. Älä käytä sitä ammattitarkoituk-
sessa.
Turvaohjeet
Loukkaantumisvaara!
• Älä käytä laitetta paikoissa, joissa on olemassa tulipalon tai räjähdyksen vaara,
esim. palavien nesteiden tai kaasujen läheisyydessä.
• Tätä laitetta ei ole tarkoitettu sellaisten henkilöiden (mukaan lukien lapset)
käyttöön, joiden rajoitetut, fyysiset, aistilliset tai henkiset kyvyt tai kokemuksen
ja/tai tiedon puute estävät käytön, lukuun ottamatta tilanteita, joissa heitä valvoo
turvallisuudesta vastaava henkilö tai joissa he ovat saaneet tältä ohjeita laitteen
käytöstä.
• Lapsia on valvottava ja on varmistettava, etteivät he leiki laitteella.
Laitevaurioiden vaara!

Laite ei aina tunnista kaikkia putkia ja johtoja. Seuraavat olosuhteet saattavat
aiheuttaa epätarkkoja tuloksia:
- erittäin paksut seinät
- heikot paristot
- syvällä sijaitsevat johdot tai putket
- suojatut johdot
- paksut seinät ja ohuet putket tai johdot
- metallipinnoitetut seinät
- erittäin kosteat olosuhteet

• Tämän laitteen avulla ei voida havaita johtoja sellaisissa virtapiireissä,
- jotka on eristetty verkkojännitesyötöstä.

putkia.

ottimen manipulointi tai turvaohjeiden noudattamatta jättäminen.
Paristojen käsittely
• Vuotavat paristot saattavat vahingoittaa laitetta. Jos et käytä laitetta pidemmän
aikaa, poista paristot.
• Jos paristot vuotavat, käytä suojakäsineitä ja puhdista paristokotelo kuivalla
liinalla.
• Paristoja ei saa jättää lasten käsiin. Lapset saattavat pistää paristot suuhunsa
ja niellä ne. Jos paristo on joutunut nieluun, on hakeuduttava välittömästi
lääkärin hoitoon.

Purkaminen pakkauksesta
Poista monitoimilaite pakkauksesta. Poista kaikki kuljetusvarmistimet ja pakkaus-
materiaalit.
Pariston asettaminen
1. Avaa laitteen taustapuolella oleva paristokotelo 5.
2. Työnnä 9 V:n neppariparisto liittimiin. Varmista oikea napaisuus.
3. Aseta pariston irrotusnauha 9 V:n nepparipariston alle ja paina paristo paris-
tokoteloon 5.
Huomio:
Varmista, etteivät johdot jää puristuksiin. Se vaurioittaa laitteen korjauskelvottomaksi.
4. Sulje paristokotelo 5. Paristokotelon kannen tulee lukittua kuuluvasti paikoilleen.

Metallin ja sähköjohtojen jäljittäminen
Ohjeita:
• Testaa laite ennen käyttöä etsimällä sillä tiedossasi olevaa metallikohdetta tai
sähköjohtoa.
• Kysy epäselvissä tapauksissa aina neuvoa pätevältä rakennusalan ammattilaiselta.
Ohjeita:
Jotta ilmaisin havaitsisi sähköjohdon, johdon on myös johdettava sähköä. Jos haluat
esim. seurata johdon kulkua valokatkaisijasta valaisimeen, kytke valaisin päälle.
1. Aseta toimintokytkin 3asentoon METAL metallin jäljittämistä varten ja asentoon
VOLTAGE sähköjohtojen jäljittämistä varten.
2. Pidä ilmaisimen mittauspäätä 2pystysuorassa tutkittavaa seinää vasten ja
pidä PUSH-painiketta 4 painettuna (punainen merkkivalo 1palaa heikosti).
3. Työnnä nyt ilmaisinta tässä asennossa hitaasti seinän yli.
4. Jos mittauspään 2lähellä on metallikohde/sähköjohto, punainen merkkivalo
1palaa kirkkaammin ja kuuluu useampia merkkiääniä peräkkäin.
• Päästä tässä tapauksessa PUSH-painike 4irti ja pidä sitä sitten uudelleen
painettuna aktivoidaksesi mittaustapahtuman uudelleen.
• Mitä lähempänä mittauspää 2on metallikohdetta/sähköjohtoa, sitä lyhyemmiksi
merkkiäänten välit muuttuvat.

• Kun kuulet jatkuvan merkkiäänen, metallikohde/sähköjohto sijaitsee suoraan
ilmaisimen mittauspään 2alla.
6. Liikuta ilmaisinta nyt eteenpäin seinää pitkin, kunnes punainen merkkivalo 1
palaa jälleen heikommin ja merkkiäänten väli kasvaa. Näin voit selvittää
metallikohteen/sähköjohdon tarkan sijainnin ja asennon.
Huomio!
Ennen kuin esim. poraat reiän seinään, varmista, ettei pinnan alla sijaitse myös
vaihtovirtaa johtavaa johtoa. Suorita siksi metallin jäljittämisen jälkeen aina myös
sähköjohtojen jäljitys!
Säilytys ja puhdistaminen
• Säilytä laitetta kuivassa tilassa pakkaselta suojattuna.
• Jos et käytä laitetta pidempään aikaan, poista paristo paristokotelosta.
• Puhdista laite kuivalla, pehmeällä liinalla.
• Älä käytä kemiallisia tai hankaavia puhdistusaineita. Ne voivat vaurioittaa
laitteen koteloa.

Hävittäminen
Älä hävitä laitetta tavallisen talousjätteen mukana. Tämä tuote
on eurooppalaisen direktiivin 2002/96/EC alainen.
Anna laite hyväksytyn jätehuoltoyrityksen tai kunnallisen jätelaitoksen hävitettäväksi.
Noudata voimassa olevia määräyksiä. Epäselvissä tilanteissa ota yhteyttä paikalliseen
jätehuoltoviranomaiseen.
Paristojen/akkujen hävittäminen
Paristoja/akkuja ei saa hävittää kotitalousjätteiden seassa. Laki velvoittaa jokaista
kuluttajaa toimittamaan paristot ja akut asianmukaisiin keräyspisteisiin tai kauppaan.
Näin varmistetaan, että paristot/akut hävitetään ympäristöystävällisellä tavalla.
Palauta paristot/akut ainoastaan purkautuneina.
Hävitä kaikki pakkausmateriaalit ympäristöystävällisellä tavalla.

Föreskriven användning
Multifunktionsdetektor för att söka efter elledningar och metallföremål, som t ex
rör eller balkar av metall. Den är endast avsedd för privat bruk. Använd inte
apparaten yrkesmässigt.
Säkerhetsanvisningar
Risk för personskador!
• Använd inte apparaten där det råder ökad brand- eller explosionsrisk, t ex
i närheten av brännbara vätskor och gaser.
• Den här apparaten ska inte användas av personer (inklusive barn) med
begränsad fysisk, sensorisk eller mental förmåga eller bristande erfarenhet
och kunskap om de inte först övervakats eller instruerats av någon ansvarig
person.
• Se noga till så att barnen inte leker med apparaten.
Varning för skador på apparaten!
• Utsätt inte apparaten för regn. Använd inte apparaten i fuktig eller våt omgivning.
• Ställ inga vätskefyllda kärl, t ex blomvaser, på apparaten.
• Ställ inga öppna lågor, t ex stearinljus, på apparaten.
• Använd inte apparaten för att kontrollera om det finns växelspänning i friliggande
eller oisolerade ledningar.
• Använd inte apparaten istället för en voltmätare.
Apparaten upptäcker inte alltid alla rör och ledningar. Följande omständigheter
kan orsaka felaktiga mätresultat:
- mycket tjocka väggar
- svaga batterier
- djupt liggande rör och ledningar
- avskärmad kabel
- tjocka väggar med tunna rör eller ledningar
- ytor täckta av metall
- mycket fuktig miljö
