■Unpacking
1. Check that the following accessories are available in the box.
■If this option is set up together with EM-101/EM-102, IC-205, NC-502
and SU-502 as a system, carry out the installation procedures in the
following order.
NOTE
For the detailed installation procedures for each option, refer to the Installation
Manual provided for that particular option and make sure that the option is properly
set up according to the instructions given in that manual.

■Installing the Fax Board (if the printer controller is not mounted)
1. Remove the Rear Cover. (nine screws)

2. Using nippers, break the knockout ➀of the
Left Side Cover.
NOTE
If the NC-502 is to be mounted at the same
time, break both knockouts ➀ and ➁ .

3. Change the position of the jumper (CJ1) on
the Copier Control Board (from 1, 2 to 3, 4).

connector of the Copier Control Board.

5. Secure the Fax Board in position using the
four Screws furnished with the kit.

7. Fit the TEL/LINE line connectors of the NCU
Board into the holes in the machine frame
and connect the NCU Board to the hookup
connector of the Fax Board.
NOTE
When performing this procedure, make
sure that the connector pins on the
backside of the NCU Board are properly
aligned with the mating holes.

8. Secure the NCU Board using the four
Screws furnished with the kit.

9. Secure the ground terminal of the NCU
Board. (one screw)

10. Install the Speaker & Battery Assy.
(two screws)

11. Connect the speaker and battery connectors
to the Fax Board.
•Plug the battery connector into the upper
connector (P202).
•Plug the speaker connector into the lower
connector (P201).
12. Place the harness in the edge cover.
13. Reinstall the Rear Cover. (nine screws)
NOTE
Use the screw with washer to the position
indicated by the arrow.

7. Secure the Fax Board in position using the

■Affixing the Panel Sheet (particular area only)
14. Connect the hookup harness connector,
which has been disconnected, to the
connector (P303) of the Image Controller
Board.

16. Connect the speaker and battery connectors
to the Fax Board.
•Plug the battery connector into the upper
