Operating Instructions
1. This tool is used to create a double flared end on Copper, Aluminum, Soft Steel and Brass tubing.
2. You may flare tubing from 3/16" to 5/8" in diameter.
3. Straighten tubing as much as possible, and then be sure to make a clean cut straight across the
tube to avoid a crooked flare. Deburr inner and outer edges. The tube cannot be crushed.
4. Place the flare nut (not included) over the tubing before flaring. Back off the Flaring Cone and remove
the pivoting wing nut. Slide Yoke (1) over Flaring Bar (2). See Figure A.
5. Loosen the two wing nuts and insert the prepared tubing into the proper-size hole in the Flaring Bar.
The end of the tube must extend above the top of the bar as much as the height of the Adapter
Shoulder. For the two smallest Adapters, extend the tube as far as the shoulder on the largest adapter.
See Figure B.
6. After setting the tubing height, tighten the Flaring Bar on the tube by tightening the two wing nuts.
7. Lightly oil the appropriate sized Adapter and insert it into the end of the tube, button end down.

9. Turn the Handle of the Yoke driving the Adapter into the
end of the tube. The tube will flare. Continue flaring
until the shoulder of the Adapter touches the Flaring Bar.
10. Back off the Yoke and remove the Adapter.
11. Reposition Flaring Cone over tubing and screw the
Yoke down again on the end of the tube until the tubing
folds back on itself, forming a 45 degree double flare.
12. Loosen the Yoke, and the wing nuts. Remove the Yoke
and Flaring Bar from the tube.
13. Clean and lightly lubricate the tool, and store it out of
reach of children.
