Enhancing Krix’s existing 3 way design
by adding an Ultra High Frequency element
has created the first extensive range of
4 way loudspeakers. The UHF element
significantly improves pattern control beyond
10kHz and enhances audio quality with even
smoother and sweeter highs. The patented
horn technology extends and flattens the
frequency response from 7.5kHz to 20kHz
while significantly reducing distortion.
The Quatrix 4 way system has optimum
coverage with significant improvements
for the right directivity pattern. There is less
variation with frequency than ever before.
True horn loading of acoustic transducers is
essential for pattern control, and a major step
forward is the development of a patented
throat configuration transforming pattern
control, improving frequency response and
reducing distortion.

Krix chose direct radiating vented enclosures
for the low frequency to achieve the radiation
pattern required for a flatter low frequency
response with lower distortion. The important
passive filter network has had great care in
the design and manufacture to improve the
integration of the whole array. The filter
network provides the correct crossover points
with the appropriate phase responses for each
section, high order slopes for minimal vertical
off axis disturbance, and to equalise the whole
array for simplified auditorium equalisation.
The Quatrix 4 way system is available in 4
models to suit every cinema, large or small.
Krix is number one for Quatrix 4 way systems.
