1 – GENERAL PRESENTATION
 The KT27 is a memory module for data backup which includes two independent memories (2GB
or 4GB each):
o 1 admin memory
o 1 end-user memory
The KT27 ensures the safe recording of any type of data as, for example, as-built records, wiring
diagrams, technical documentations of electrical cabinets, telecom racks and computer
servers, a backup copy of the software and of the parameters of programmable automatons,
etc.
The data recorded in the administrator space cannot be modified or deleted by the user.
 The KT 27 modules do not need any specific power supply. The connection to the USB port is
sufficient.
 The data can be used in any format (MICROSOFT® Word, Excel, Autocad, video files, etc.),
 The operating systems supported by the KT27 are : Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, Vista, XP, Seven, or
later versions,
 The storage capacity of the KT27 is 2 GB or 4 GB per space, according to the unit used,
 Access to the digital data in the KT27 is done by a USB connection and KT_Log driver,
 Access to both KT27 memories is through a KT_Log driver and according to admin or end user
rights, each having a password.

 The KT27 can be installed on the Omega rail of an electrical cabinet or on a HPUL rail for telecom
computer & server racks (provided with the kit - Ref. 2130),
2 – CONNECTING TO THE KT 27
 A minimum of 1.5 GB RAM is required to connect to a KT27 module.
3 – BENEFITS
 The KT27 guarantees the long-term storage of the digital data,
 The KT27 meets the dematerialization of technical documents and thus replaces paper,
 The KT27 allows a more user-friendly and an easy update of data and technical documents.
 NO power supply is required for data safety, only a USB cable,
 Technical data are available exactly where the information is needed,
 The dimension of the KT27 module is minimal (17.5 mm in width).
4 – TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
 The storage capacity of the KT27 is 2 GB or 4 GB per space,
 Flash type memory reader module (Nand Flash MLC – Multi Level Cell),
 USB 2 interface compatible USB 1.1,
 Average reading transfer rate: 800 Ko/s - Average writing transfer rate: 350 Ko/s,
 The KT_Log driver provided on CD-Rom, is also downloadable at www.ktmemory.com. It is
necessary for the connection between the KT27 and the computer,
 The computer must use Windows and have a USB port to be able to connect to the KT27
 Operating temperature : -30°C (-22° F) / +70°C (+158° F),
 Average weight : 120 grams (4.23 oz.),

5 – GETTING STARTED, ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
 The installation of the KT27 MUST be made by a qualified professional in accordance with the
LOCAL standards and / or installation regulations in force.
 To install the KT27, it is necessary to pierce a hole (diameter: 7mm) in the HPUL rail, then clip
on the rail adapter (item 3 – diagram A)and the M6 anti-theft knurled screw located at the
back of the Omega and/or HPUL rail (supplied in the kit). This screw acts as an anti-theft
device.

 INSTALLATION OF THE KT27 MODULE ON NON-STANDARD OMEGA RAILS
The adapter (Ref. 2130-55) (item 2- diagram B) enables the KT26 module to be integrated into
electrical control cabinets that have non-standard supports (item 1 – diagram B) as shown on
diagram below.
The adapter (Ref. 2130-55) (item 2 – diagram B) can easily be placed on non-standard rail by
clipping,
The knurled screw for the installation of the KT27 is an M6 x 30 screw.
 INSTALLATION OF THE KT27 MODULE ON THE HPUL RAIL (TELECOM AND COMPUTER NETWORKS)
 The KT27 is integrated on HPUL rail (item 1 – diagram C) via the adapter (item 2 – diagram C),

6 – CONNECTING TO THE KT27
 Connecting the computer to the KT27 is established using a USB A-A M/M cable supplied
in the kit.
 The LED on the KT27 module flashes when connected to the computer.
 Accessing the information in the KT27 is according to the following procedure, through the KT_Log
driver downloadable at www.ktmemory.com or through the CD ROM supplied.
 The KT27 is supplied with two pre-programmed 4-digit passwords:
o Admin password is 0000
o User password is 1111
Users are advised to change the passwords after the first use.
In case admin or end-user passwords are lost, please contact by E-mail KTE at
[e-mail]. Indicate your KT27 serial number together with the number of initializations
indicated in the ‘tools’ program.
The reader is invited to read the KT LOG software installation procedure which is included in the mini
CD-ROM supplied or by logging to www.ktmemory.com
7 – HARDWARE WARRANTY INFORMATION
 2-year limited guarantee,
 KT MEMORY, Inc. WILL NOT be liable for any direct or indirect damage which could result from
access and/or use of information, loss of data, recovery of lost data or data contained in the KT27
module during the guarantee period. The user is responsible for all the necessary backup
measures.
