Fuel
This appliance is designed or combustion o solid uel:
- recommended uel is wood (tested uel).
- the appliance also enables burning o other kinds o solid uel (wood briquettes, waste wood,
brown coal briquettes, and brown coal blocks). However the operating conditions and parameters
o the appliance may di er rom those with the recommended uel. Please note that the technical
characteristics given above were based on a test wood uel sample and using other uel types will
alter these characteristics, energy output, uel consumption, lue draught etc.
Make sure that the uel is dry. It is not recommended to burn high-calori ic uels, which reduce the
service li e o the appliance.
Grate
The appliance is itted with a sliding grate which is operated with a handle. Operate the grate in
order to allow the unburned uel remnants into the ash receiver; this, in turn, allows higher intake
o incineration (i.e., primary) air into the combustion chamber. To operate the grate, hold the lever
and pull it back and orth repeatedly. Pieces whose size prevents them rom alling through the
grate openings may be removed a ter the ire has extinguished. During heating, operate the grate
using the ire hook.
Air Inlet Port Regulation
The volume o incoming air is adjusted with the regulator (that is not included in the appliance).
The regulator unit acilitates the operation o the appliance, maintains the selected heating output,
and prevents the appliance rom overheating. The operation o the regulator is based on the water
temperature inside the system. As the temperature o the heating water rises, the device limits the
inlet o the primary air, and vice versa. When the appliance is in operation, an inlet o primary air
must be provided; the inlet must not become blocked. The room where the appliance is located
must not be itted with air extraction systems unless an appropriate source o ventilation air is pro-
vided.
Regulator Installation and Adjust ent should be installed only by an outhorised heating
specialist !
Appliance Hotplate
The hotplate is designed or warming ood, or keeping it warm. Use pots with a lat bottom, the
whole area o which rests on the hotplate. When you intend to use the hotplate or warming or co-
oking, leave only one radiator unit active; the unction o the other heating elements should be
suspended.
Ignition Flap
The controls o the ignition lap are located near the ume outlet port in the back wall o the appli-
ance. The lap introduces these operation modes (Fig 2.):
• Igniation mode – the control lever is retracted ( lap open)
•
Heating (operation) mode – the control lever is extended ( lap closed)

Firing
During the start o the irst ire, provide su icient ventilation in the room because the protective
paint coating and remains o ats are being burned.
Prior to starting a ire, open the combustion chamber gate and veri y that the grate is clean. To
start a ire, use slim splinters o so t wood placed on sheets o paper. Put larger pieces o wood on
the splinters. Open the ignition lap and chimney laps (Fig. 2).
Start a ire in the uel and close the combustion chamber gate. Add more wood a ter the supply
has burned. A ter a bed o hot material has been created, other uel may be added. Bear in mind
that adding too much uel too early may have a detrimental e ect on the incineration process.
Supply additional uel manually or with a suitable shovel.
Full combustion can be visually easily checked: no heavy smoke can be seen rising rom the
chimney (except the time immediately a ter stoking up).
The output o the appliance is adjusted by the regulator; it also depends on the requency o the
grating. Clean the grate with the ire hook occasionally. I the appliance releases smoke during the
addition o uel, close the air inlet port. The entire com
bustion chamber may be used or
incineration. Make sure the uel does not all outside the chamber during addition. In adverse
chimney e ect conditions or in bad weather conditions, use small, dry logs o wood.
Long-ter Operation
The appliance may be in unattended operation or an extended period o time as ollows: a ter the
base layer o hot material, ill the uel chamber and turn the primary air regulator by unhinging the
regulator chain rom the split pin o the latch. The appliance may be le t to operate or more than
12 hours.
Cooking on the Appliance’s Hotplate
During cooking watch out or boiling over. I it happens, remove as much o the spillage
immediately and when inished cooking clean the remainder using a damp towel, detergent and
inally using a dry towel. I the dirt bakes in, it is more di icult to remove later. From time to time
(depending on the requency o operation) wipe the range down with vegetable oil.
Use pots with a lat bottom or best results.
Note:
KVS Ekodivize strongly reco end that their appliance should be covered by the uninsu-
lated lid only after the appliance ceased its operation.
It can be lowered to cover the hob only when the appliance is not in operation or finishing
its operation (no fuel has been added, the appliance is cooling down and the fire in the
burner is burning down).
