Kit Contents: Tools required:
- Adjustable wrench
- 9/16 in. wrench
- 3/4 in. wrench
- Pipe wrench
- Portable drill with 5/16 in. socket or 5/16 in. nut driver
Materials required:
• Rags or towels
• Appropriate PTFE thread sealant tape for use with fuel oil.
• Appropriate pipe ttings for connection to 3/8 in. inlet of fuel
lter (used for drawing fuel from external fuel tank).
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Qualifications for installation of the kit:
• You must be able to read and understand these instructions.
• You must be properly trained and have sufcient experience in servicing oil heaters and capable of testing the
heater for proper operation.
General information:
The following instructions provide information on converting a two-pipe system to a one pipe system with the use of the
remote fuel hook-up.
Safety instructions:
• To prevent leaks, always apply approved PTFE tape or piping compound to all connections.
• Tighten all connections securely.

A. Initial Preparation:
1. Have a sufciently large enough fuel resistant
container ready to catch any fuel expelled from the
pump during removal of the hoses.
2. Disconnect the heater’s electrical supply.
B. Pre-assemble the Remote Fuel Hook-Up
• Attach the hose adapter ttings provided with the kit
to the remote fuel hook-up. See Figure 1.

C. Disconnecting Fuel Hoses
1. Disconnect the return fuel hose at the elbow and
from the pump. Save this hose to be used later.
2. Remove the elbow from the tank and cap off the
nipple with the 3/8” cap provided with the kit.
If you are attaching an external fuel tank to
the heater, continue to C3. Otherwise, skip
to section C8.
3. Remove the hose connection from the inlet of the
fuel lter. DO NOT remove the hose connection
at the elbow of the fuel tank.
4. Remove the bushing and the hose adapter from
the inlet of the fuel lter.
5. Attach the previously removed hose adapter
and bushing from step 4 to the hose’s swivel nut
removed in step 3.
6. Slide the ring of the blue cap onto the hose.

7. Wrap the cord of the blue cap around the elbow
and press t the cap onto the threads of the bush-
ing. This will protect the threads from damage and
allows the hose to be reconnected at a later date
if drawing fuel from the heater’s onboard tank is
desired.
8. Remove the fuel hose between the outlet of
the fuel lter and the pump. This hose may be
discarded. Removal of the fuel lter assembly from
the bracket may aid in the hose removal.
D. Installation
1. Install the provided elbow and nipple to the outlet
of the fuel lter.

2. Attach the remote hook-up bracket to the fuel lter
bracket, as shown, using the mounting screws
provided with kit.
3. Insert the remote hook-up onto the bracket.
4. Connect the hose with the male 3/8” NPT to the
elbow of the fuel lter. If a 3/8” NPT hose is not one
of your hoses, install the 3/8” reducing bushing from
the kit to the elbow than connect the 1/4” NPT hose
to the bushing. Connect its swivel nut to the bottom
of the remote hook-up.
5. Connect the 1/4” NPT hose to fuel pump inlet port
and the 3/8” swivel nut to the outlet port of the
remote fuel hook-up.

6. Connect the remaining 1/4” NPT hose to the fuel
pump return port and the 3/8” swivel nut to the
return inlet of the remote fuel hook-up.
E. Drawing Fuel from an External Tank
ATTENTION:
• The diameter of the fuel supply hose from the
external fuel tank to the heater fuel lter must be
a minimum of 3/8” ID.
• Use the appropriate ttings acquired locally to
connect to the inlet of the fuel lter.
-- Install appropriate pipe ttings as desired to con-
nect the external fuel tank supply hose to the 3/8”
NPT female inlet of the fuel lter.
-- External fuel tanks are available from companies
such as Western Global®
When using an external fuel tank, the burner will
draw fuel:
-- Up to 7 ft. rise if the tank is located below the
heater.
-- 75 ft. horizontal run if the external tank is located
on the same level as the heater.
F. Completion
1. Check hose connections to match the diagram below.
2. Check all connections for tightness.
3. Start heater and check all connections for leaks.
