Please take a little time to read this booklet before you use your appliance and keep it in a
safe place for future reference.
Your Plate Warmer is ideal for when you’ve prepared a delicious feast for friends and
family and want to serve everything on pre-warmed plates or bowls so your food makes it
to the table at just the right temperature.
With precision temperature control to 60°C it heats up to ten plates and bowls in just 10
minutes and the auto shut off function switches off the Plate Warmer after 5 hours.

• After unpacking, make sure the appliance is intact, complete
with all its parts as shown in the illustrative guide and
with no sign of damage. If in any doubt, do not use the
appliance and contact an authorised service centre.
• WARNING! Risk of suffocation.
• Children shall not play with the packaging. Keep the
plastic bag out of the reach of children.
• This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which
it was designed, namely as a plate warmer for home use.

Any other use is considered not compliant with the intended
use and therefore dangerous.
• This plate warmer is designerd to heat up to 10 plates.
Do not use empty.
• Use this appliance on a flat and stable surface. Fold only in
the specified points.
• Before connecting the appliance to the mains supply,
make sure that the voltage and frequency indicated on the
technical data of the appliance correspond to those of the
mains supply. The rating is on the appliance or on the power
supply unit.
• This appliance can work automatically at a frequency
of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
• This appliance is only to be used with the types of
detachable control unit that are marked on the appliance.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
• DO NOT use the appliance with wet hands or damp
feet.
• DO NOT pull the supply cord or the appliance itself to
remove the plug from the socket.
• DO NOT pull or lift the appliance by the supply cord.

• Prevent the power cord from coming into contact with sharp
edges or heat sources. Do not bend or crush the power
cord.
• DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity, to the
effects of weather (rain, sun, etc.) or to extreme
temperatures.
• Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or
damage. lf there are such signs, if the appliance has been
misused or does not work, contact an authorised technical
service centre before switching it on again.
• If the appliance is faulty or malfunctions, switch it off and
do not tamper with it. Contact an authorised technical
service centre for any repairs.
• If the supply cord is damaged, take the whole appliance to
an authorised technical service centre for the replacement of
the control unit, so as to prevent all risks.
• DO NOT use this appliance to warm animals.
• DO NOT use if wet.
• DO NOT USE FOLDED OR CREASED.
• DO NOT INSERT PINS OR NEEDLES.
• When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before
folding.
• WARNING! DO NOT crease the appliance by placing
items on top of it during storage.

• Follow indications in the relevant chapters of this manual on
how to use, clean, maintain or store the appliance.
• WARNING! Always disconnect the appliance from the
socket when the appliance is not in use.
• See the external packaging for the characteristics of the
appliance.
• Use the appliance only with the supplied accessories that are
an essential part of the appliance.
• WARNING! Always disconnect the appliance from
the mains and disconnect the control connector
from the plate warmer before cleaning or performing
maintenance.
• WARNING! If the appliance does not resume its
original size or if problems arise with the internal
cables contact an authorised service centre for a safety
check.
• WARNING! Dry the appliance flat without using pegs
to avoid damaging it. Leave it to dry, laid out flat on a
clothes horse, not in direct sunlight.
• When not in use, store as follows:
- Allow it to cool before storing it.
- Let dry thoroughly before storing it
- Fold only in the specified points.
- DO NOT place other objects on top of the appliance when
you store it.

USING YOUR PLATE WARMER FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the Plate Warmer and remove all the packaging materials.
• Insert the connection plug into the connector on the
Plate Warmer.
• Ensure the connection plug is fully pushed in until it
engages.
• Place the Plate Warmer on a dry, sturdy, level
heat resistant surface, use a protective layer if on
wooden furniture.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Place the Plate Warmer on a dry, level, sturdy and heat resistant surface.
• Ensure the Plate Warmer is switched OFF at the power switch before
connecting the power cord. Then plug into the mains socket and turn on.
• When you switch on the Plate Warmer for the first time there may be a slight
burning smell. This is normal for a new product and will disappear after a few uses.
• This product is for heating up to ten plates or bowls.
• Insert the plates or bowls from the middle, with a maximum two plates or bowls for
each compartment.
• Switch on the Plate Warmer, heating starts immediately and the LED light will
illuminate red.
• Heat up plates for approx. 30 minutes, until the plates are evenly warm.
• Switch off the Plate Warmer at the control unit, switch off the mains socket and
remove the plug from the socket.
• Remove warm plates or bowls, with an oven glove.
• Arrange food on the pre-heated plates.
• Suitable for plates and bowls up to 30cm (12”) Dia.
• Allow the appliance to cool down before storing it away.
AUTO SHUT-OFF
• Your Plate Warmer will automatically switch off after 5 hours.

CONTROL UNIT LED SIGNALS
BLUE LIGHT CONSTANT BLUE ILLUMINATED
• The detachable control lead may not be connected correctly.
• The Plate Warmer may have gone into ‘Auto Shut-off’ as it has been on
for 5 hours.
• Switch off the Plate Warmer and allow to cool down.
BLUE LIGHT – FLASHING IN TWOS
• The detachable control lead may not be connected correctly.
• Switch off and disconnect.
• Check the plug connection.
• Reconnect and switch on at the socket and then the control unit.
BLUE LIGHT – FLASHING IN THREES
• The Plate Warmer may have overheated or is damaged.
• Switch off and disconnect.
• Allow to cool.
• Reconnect and switch on at the socket and then the control unit.
RED LIGHT
• The appliance has heated up and is ready to use.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why is the control unit not illuminating?
Answer: Check that the detachable control lead is properly attached to the Plate
Warmer. The appliance may not be plugged in or switched on at
the socket.
Question: Why is the light on the control unit flashing?
Answer: Check that the connection plug is fully pushed into the connector.
The Plate Warmer automatically switches off after 5 hours and may have
gone into Standby mode, see ‘Instruction for use’.
The Plate Warmer may be faulty or damaged. If so, contact the Lakeland
customer care team on 015394 88100.
Question: Why is there heat discolouration on the fabric?
Answer: There may be a fault with the appliance, discontinue use and contact the
Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.

CARE AND CLEANING
• Before cleaning, switch off and unplug from the mains socket, let the Plate Warmer
cool completely before cleaning.
• Check parts for wear and damage after every few uses.
• Never immerse the detachable control lead in water or any other liquid.
• Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
• Disconnect the detachable control lead from the connector on the Plate Warmer.
• Machine washable at 30ºC.
• Do not iron. Tumble dry on a low setting. Do not dry clean or bleach.
• To hand wash, use a mild washing powder or detergent and soak your Plate Warmer
in lukewarm water for 15 minutes. After soaking, gently wash the Plate Warmer and
rinse thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water.
• Allow the excess water to drain from the Plate Warmer. Do not wring the plate
warmer.
DRYING YOUR PLATE WARMER
• Air dry on a clothes line, avoid use of clothes pegs as they will damage the Plate
Warmer.
• Do not use your Plate Warmer until it is completely dry.
• Do not wring the Plate Warmer.
STORING YOUR PLATE WARMER
• When storing the Plate Warmer, allow it to cool down before folding.
• Avoid creasing the Plate Warmer.
• Do not place heavy items on the Plate Warmer when in storage, as deep creases or
folds may damage the wiring.
• Do not use any moth-proofing chemicals.
• Store the Plate Warmer with the power cord loosely coiled. Never wrap it tightly
around the Plate Warmer.

recycling points set up around the country.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use in
all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications.
CHANGING THE 3 AMP FUSE
Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If you are
unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the
cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.
If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop. This appliance
complies with the following EU Directives: 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage Directive) and
2014/30/EU (EMC Directive).
