Note: Serial Port 2 supports RS232, RS422, and RS485, but only one mode
at a me. You can use either the RJ45 connector or the terminal block, not
both.

Note: Terminaon resistors (R=120 Ohm) are used to match impedance of a node to the impedance of the transmission (TX) line.
Terminaon resistors should be placed only at the extreme ends of the TX data lines, and not more than two terminaons should
be placed in any single segment of an RS‐485 network. The terminaon resistors may not be needed for your applicaon.

ASSIGNING AN IP ADDRESS AND CONFIGURATION
LEDS
Warning: Connecng a device to an acve Ethernet network can disrupt
communicaons on the network. Make sure the device is configured for
your applicaon before connecng it to an acve network.

ThexPressDR+musthaveauniqueIPaddressonyournetwork.TheIP
addresscanbeassignedautomacallyusingDHCP,oryoucanassignit
manually.TwomethodsforassigninganIPaddressaredescribedbelow.
DHCP
ThexPressDR+looksforaDHCPserverwhenitfirstpowersuptoassign
anIPaddress.TheunithasacquiredanIPaddressiftheredLEDstops
flashingandthegreenStatusLEDisonconnuously.Youcanuse
DeviceInstallersowaretosearchthenetworkfortheDHCP‐assignedIP
addressandaddtheunittothelistofLantronixdevicesonthenetwork.
Theunit’sIPaddressissetto0.0.0.0atthefactory.TheunitisDHCP‐
enabledasthedefault.
Fixed IP Address
IftheunitdoesnotacquireanIPaddressoryoudonotuseDHCP,you
mustassignafixedIPaddress.UseanIPaddressthatisuniquetoyour
network,withinavalidrange,andinthesamesubsetasyourPC.You
willneedthefollowinginformaon:

3.ClickSearch tosearchthenetworkfortheDHCP‐assignedIPad‐
dressoftheunit,orclickAssign IP tomanuallyassignafixedad‐
dressandconfigureothernetworksengs.Refertotheuserguide
fordetailedinstrucons.
Configuraon using Web Manager
1.StartawebbrowserandentertheIPaddressofthexPressDR+
deviceserver.
2.Thedevice’sfactorydefaultusernameisleblankandthefactory
defaultpasswordisthelast8charactersofthedeviceID(fordevic‐
esmanufacturedaerJanuary1,2020)orisleblank(forallolder
devices).
3.AssignanIPaddressinthenetworksengsandperformother
configuraon.
