OPERATING MANUAL
1. Read all instructions before using Heater.
2. UsethisHeateronly asdescribed in this manual. Any
otheruse not recommended by the manufacturermay
cause fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons.
3. Make certain that the power source conforms to the
electrical requirements of the Heater.
4. Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater
is used by or near children or invalids and when-
ever the Heater is left operating unattended.
5. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the out-
let, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this
safety feature.
6. Wherepossible,avoidthe useof extensioncords be-
cause the extension cord may overheat and cause a
risk of fire. If they must be used, minimize the risk of
overheating by ensuring that they are UL listed, a
minimumNo.14AWG,ratednotless than 1875 watts.
Never use a single extension cord to operate more
than one Heater.
7. Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or
plugoraftertheHeatermalfunctions,hasbeendropped
or damaged in any manner. Return Heater to autho-
rized service facility for examination, electrical or me-
chanical adjustment or repair.
8. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the
Heater. Always unplug Heater when not in use.
WARNING: DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF
SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECT-
ING POWER WHEN SERVICING OR MOVING THE
HEATER. ALWAYS UNPLUGTHE POWER CORD.
9. Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to
enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may
causean electric shockor fire, ordamage the Heater.
Do not block or tamper with the Heater in any man-
ner while it is in operation.
10.To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not place on soft sur-
faces, like a bed, where openings may become
blocked.
11.Always place the Heater on a stable, flat, level surface
when operating, to avoid the chance of the Heater over-
turning. Locate the Power Cord so the Heater or other
objectsarenotresting on it. Donotrun PowerCord under
carpeting. Do not cover Power Cord with throw rugs, run-
ners, or the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room
traffic and where it will not be tripped over.
12.This Heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do
not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use
handle when moving this Heater. Keep combustible
materials,such as furniture,pillows,bedding, papers,
clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the
front of the Heater and keep them at least 1 foot (0.3
m) from the sides and rear.
13.A Heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside.
It must NOT be used in potentially dangerous loca-
tions such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden
or wet atmospheres. This Heater is intended for gen-
eral use ONLY.
14.This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp
locations. Never locate a Heater where it may fall
into a bathtub or other water container.
15.Do not use Heater outdoors.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: ALWAYS UNPLUGTHE CORD BEFORE MOVING OR
SERVICING.
WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER.
CLEANING: IMPORTANT! Clean the Heater grill with the
vacuum brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner. This will re-
move lint and dirt from the inside of the Heater. DO NOT AT-
TEMPT TO TAKE APART THE HEATER. Clean the body of the
Heater with a soft cloth.
CAUTION:Do not use gasoline, benzine,thinner,harsh clean-
ers, etc., as they will damage the Heater. NEVER use ALCO-
HOL OR SOLVENTS.
SERVICING: All other servicing, with the exception of general
user-maintenance, should be performed by an authorized ser-
vice representative. Call 1-800-233-0268, Monday through Fri-
day, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST for the location of
your nearest service center.
STORAGE: Store the Heater with these instructions in the original
carton in a cool, dry place.
SAFETY FEATURE
1. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating.
2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the Heater will auto-
matically shut-off. It can only resume operation when the unit is
reset. (See reset instructions below).
To Reset Heater:
1. Unplug the Heater and wait 10 minutes for the unit to cool down.
2. After the 10 minutes, plug the Heater in again and follow the
OPERATIONINSTRUCTIONdescribedinthisinstructionmanual.
OPERATION (Figure 1)
1. Carefully remove the Heater from the plastic bag and the carton.
2. Make certain the unit is in the Off ( ) position before plugging the
Heater into the outlet.
3. Place the Heater on a firm and level surface.
4. Plug the cord set into a 120V electrical outlet. Be sure plug fits
tightly in outlet.A loose fit will cause overheating and damage the
plug. Plug and cord set may feel warm during normal usage.
5. Turn the Power Knob to the desired setting. ( ) for Fan Only
(NO HEAT), ( ) for Low Heat (900 Watts) and ( ) for High Heat
(1500Watts).
6. For Heater operation, turn the Thermostat Knob to the highest
setting ( ). (See Thermostat Instructions)
7. The Power Light will remain lit until the unit is turned Off ( ).
THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS (Figure 2)
1. AllowtheHeatertowarmuptheroombeforesettingthethermostat.
2. When the desired temperature is reached, lower the thermostat
until the Unit shuts off. This is done by turning the Thermostat
Knob towards the ( ).
3. TheHeaterwillnowautomaticallymaintainthesettemperatureby
cycling the unit on and off. To prevent the Heater from cycling,
adjust the thermostat.
4. To adjust the thermostat, turn the Thermostat Knob towards the
() to increase the desired temperature and towards the ( ) to
decrease the desired temperature.

TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS
If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of
the above-mentioned safety features may have been activated
to prevent overheating.
1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
2. Check your Thermostat setting. The Heater may be off because
it has reached the desired temperature setting.
If you have a problem that can not be resolve by the steps listed
above, contact Technical Assistance at 800-233-0268, Monday
through Friday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST.

OPERACIÓN (Figura 1)
1. Retire cuidadosamente el calefactor de la bolsa plástica y caja.
2. Procure que la unidad esté en la posición Apagado ( ) antes de
enchufar el Calefactor al tomacorriente.
3. Coloque el Calefactor sobe una superficie firme y plana.
4. Enchufeel cableeléctrico auntomacorrientede120V.Asegúrese
que el enchufe quede bien ajustado. Un ajuste suelto puede
causar sobrecalentamiento y dañar el enchufe.
5. Gire la Perilla De Potencia a la posición deseada. ( ) para
Sólo Ventilador (SIN CALEFACCIÓN), ( ) para Calor Bajo
(900 vatios) y ( ) para Calor Alto (1500 vatios).
6. Para hacer funcionar el calefactor, gire la Perilla DelTermostato
a la posición más elevada ( ). (Véase las Instrucciones del
termostato más abajo)
7. La Luz De Potencia permaneceráencendida hasta quelaunidad
se apague ( ).
INSTRUCCIONES DEL TERMOSTATO
(Figura 2)
1. Antes de fijar el termostato, permita que el Calefactor
caliente la habitación.
2. Al alcanzar la temperatura deseada, disminuya el termostato
hasta que la Unidad deje de operar. Esto se realiza girando la
Perilla Del Termostato a ( ).
3. El Calefactor ahora mantendrá automáticamente el nivel de
temperatura prefijada, encendiéndose y apagándose en forma
alternada.ParaqueelCalefactornohagaesto,ajusteeltermostato.
4. Para ajustar el termostato, gire la Perilla Del Termostato hacia
() para aumentar la temperatura deseada y hacia ( ) para
disminuir la temperatura deseada.

MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: SIEMPRE DESENCHUFE EL CORDÓN ANTES
DE MOVER O DAR SERVICIO A LA UNIDAD.
ADVERTENCIA: NO SUMERJA EL CALENTADOR EN AGUA
LIMPIEZA: Limpielarejillasuperior del calefactorcon el accesorio
de cepillo de su aspiradora.Esto quita la pelusa y tierra del interior
del calefactor. NO INTENTE DESARMAR EL CALENTADOR. NO
RETIRE EL PROTECTOR DE REJILLA NI PERMITA QUE EL
CALENTADOR SE USE SIN EL PROTECTOR DE REJILLA EN SU
LUGAR.Limpieelexterior del calefactorcon un paño suave.NUNCA
USE ALCOHOL NI SOLVENTES.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SEGURIDAD
1. El Calefactor tiene incorporado un protector contra sobrecarga
térmica para evitar que se sobrecaliente.
2. Cuando se alcance una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento, el
calefactor se apaga automáticamente. Sólo puede volverse a
encender después que el usuario reposicione la unidad.
Para reposicionar el Calefactor:
1. Desenchufe el Calefactor y espere de 10 minutos para que el
Calefactor se enfríe.
2. Después que los 10 minutos, tapan la Calefactor en otra vez y
sigue la INSTRUCCION de la OPERACION descrita en este
manual de la instrucción.
MOLESTE PUNTAS QUE DISPARAN
Si su Calefactor apaga inesperadamente o falla de operar, uno
de las características ya mencionadas de seguridad se puede
haber activado para prevenir recalentar.

1. Lea todas las instrucciones antes de usar el Calefactor.
2. Utilice este Calefactor únicamente de la manera descrita
en este manual.Cualquier otro uso no recomendado por

ancho que el otro). Esta clavija está diseñada para ser

para su revisión, ajuste eléctrico/mecánico o reparación.

maneraparaevitarla posibilidaddeque ocurra un incendio.
No coloque el aparato sobre superficies suaves, como una
cama,en donde las aberturas pudieranquedar obstruidas.
11.Siempre coloque el Calefactor sobre una superficie
plana, nivelada y estable durante el uso para evitar que
se vuelque. Acomode el cable de tal manera que ni el
Calefactor ni ningún otro objeto le pasen por encima.
No pase el cable por debajo de la alfombra. No cubra
el cable con ninguna alfombrilla, tapete, ni cosa
parecida.Coloque el cable lejos de las zonas de mayor
movimiento dentro de la habitación y donde nadie
pueda tropezarse.
12.Este Calefactor se calienta cuando está en uso. No permita
que la piel desnuda entre en contacto con las superficies
calientesparaevitarquemaduras.Siempreuse la manija para
trasladar este Calefactor. Mantenga los materiales
combustibles, tales comomuebles,almohadas,ropade cama,
papeles, ropa y cortinas, por lo menos a 3 pies (0.9 m) de
distancia de la parte delantera del Calefactor y al menos 1
pie(0.3m) de distancia deloscostadosyde la parteposterior.
13.Los calefactores contienen piezas calientes que generan
arcos voltaicos o chispas. NO deben usarse en lugares
potencialmente peligrosos, tales como atmósferas
inflamables, explosivas, húmedas o que contengan
productos químicos. Este Calefactor está diseñado para
uso general ÚNICAMENTE.
14.Este Calefactor no debe usarse en lugares mojados ni
húmedos.Nunca coloque el Calefactor en un lugar donde
exista el riesgo de que se caiga al interior de una tina u
otro recipiente con agua.
15. No utilice el Calefactor a la intemperie.
