Introducing the MC-7600 Meter
Congratulations on selecting the LDG Electronics MC-7600 meter. The LDG Color Analog Meter is a precision
instrument that will provide many years of quality service. The meter provides a three-inch meter to
compliment the “virtual” meter on your IC-7600’s display panel. It can show S-Meter reading, final amplifier
voltage and current, power output, SWR, compression level and ALC level.
The meter is illuminated by high-visibility color LEDs from behind. This color backlighting is very attractive,
easy on the eyes during long operating sessions, and makes it a snap to read the meters precisely. Each meter
has adjustments on the back for separate color and brightness settings. Be sure to read the entire manual to
ensure safe operation and long life of the meter. With proper care this meter will provide many hours of
enjoyable operation.

Welcome Notes
Welcome to the LDG Electronics family of amateur radio equipment! Starting in 1995 and based in St. Leonard, Maryland, LDG
defines state of the art equipment for the Amateur (“Ham”) radio community.
In addition to offering established equipment we’re continuing to grow our product line. Check our web site
(https://www.ldgelectronics.com) often to learn about new developments! We also offer complete product support through our
web site, and we’re here for you for any questions that you might have. All of our products are supported with a two-year
transferrable warranty. When you sell your LDG product provide the new owner with a copy of the original sales receipt and the
two-year warranty transfers to the new owner.
There is no need to complete a warranty card or to register our products. Your product receipt establishes eligibility for warranty
service; save that receipt! Send your receipt copy with the product when you ship your product to us for repair. Products sent to
LDG without a receipt are considered requests for out-of-warranty repair.
LDG does not warranty against product damage or abuse. This means that a product failure, as determined by LDG, to be caused
by the customer or by other natural calamity (e.g. lightning) is not covered under the two-year warranty. Damage can be caused
by failure to heed the product’s published limitations and specifications or by not following good Amateur practice.
OUT OF WARRANTY SERVICE
We will gladly provide service any time a product fails after the warranty. Send the product to us for repair. We will determine
what needs to be done, and, based on your prior instruction, either contact you with an estimate or fix it and contact you with a
request to pay any repair charges. Please contact LDG with any questions before you send us an out-of-warranty product for
repair.
RETURNING YOUR PRODUCT FOR SERVICE
Returning a product to LDG is easy. We do not require a return merchandise authorization, and there is no need to contact LDG
to return your product. Visit the Customer Support Center on our web site and download the LDG Product Repair Form. On the

Your MC-7600 Analog Meter
Your MC-7600 is a quality, precision instrument that will give you many years of outstanding service; take a
few minutes to get to know it.
Front Panel:
The front panel of the MC-7600 displays only the meter face. No controls are present on the front panel.
Back Panel:
The rear panel of the MC-7600 has two jacks and three controls:
On/Off: Turns illumination on and off
Color: Adjusts illumination color
Bright: Adjusts illumination brightness
+12VDC: Connect the supplied DC coaxial power cable to this connector, and connect to a source of 13.8
+/-15% VDC @ 500 mA, center pin positive

Installing the MC-7600 Meter
The MC-7600 is intended for indoor use only; it is not water-resistant. If you use it outdoors, you must
protect it from rain.
Always turn your radio off before plugging or unplugging anything. The radio may be damaged if cables are
connected or disconnected while the power is on.
With the radio turned off, connect one end of the stereo cable to the external meter Jack on the back of the
Radio. Connect the other end of the supplied cable to the Jack marked “Radio” on the back of the meter.
Connect the other end to the Meter jack on the back of the IC-7600.
Connect the DC cable to a DC supply that can provide 13.8 +/- 15% VDC at 500mA or above. The red tinned
wire goes to positive and black goes to ground.
The push button on/off switch on the back of the meter controls the power to the unit. With the unit on,
adjust the brightness and color of the meter. Position the radio and meter for normal use and enjoy the view.
The meter movement will function without DC power, but the illumination LEDs will not.

Configuring the IC-7600
The MC-7600 meter by default shows signal strength on receive in the customary S-Units plus dB over S9. On
transmit the MC-7600 meter mirrors the setting you have selected in the IC-7600 setup menu. Options
include:
• RF power output percent
• Standing Wave Ratio
• ALC level
• Speech compression level
• Final amplifier drain current
• Final amplifier drain voltage
Press the Exit/Set button several times to close a multi-function screen if necessary. Push SET (F6) to select
SET mode. Press ACC (F2), then press UP (F1) or DOWN (F2) to select External Meter Output. Turn the main
tuning knob to select the desired setting. The default Auto setting shows signal strength on receive and the
transmit parameter selected with the front panel METER setting.
You can adjust the External Meter Level. Press DOWN (F2) to select External Meter Level, then turn the main
tuning knob to select the desired value.

7
Operation
Your MC-7600 meter operates automatically without your intervention. Simply adjust the Color and
Brightness controls to your taste. You can leave your MC-7600 meter connected permanently to your IC-
7600 transceiver. If the meter is powered separately from the radio the light will stay on even when you
turn your radio off. Simply press the On/Off button on the back of the meter to turn the light off.
Care and Maintenance
Your MC-7600 meter is essentially maintenance-free. The outer case may be cleaned as needed with a soft
cloth slightly dampened with household cleaning solution. As with any modern electronic device the MC-
7600 can be damaged by temperature extremes, water, impact, or static discharge.
