Otherusesofthetrimmernotmentionedinthismanualmaydamagethetrimmer

applicationrange.Itisnotdesignedforcommercialuse.

FUEL
Fuelandoilmixture
Forbestresultsuseregularunleadedpetrolmixedwith2‐strokeair‐cooledengine
oilonaratioof40:1.
WARNING:Neveruseunmixedpetrolinyourengine.Thiswillcause
permanentdamageandvoidthemanufacturer’swarrantyfortheproduct.
Neveruseafuelmixturethathasbeenstoredformorethan30days.
WARNING:2‐strokelubricantmustbeapremiumgradeoilfor2‐stroke

air‐cooledenginesmixedata40:1ratio.Donotuseany2‐strokeoilproductwith
arecommendedmixratioof100:1.Ifinsufficientlubricationisthecauseof
enginedamage,itvoidsthemanufacturer’senginewarranty.
Mixingfuel
Pouroilintoanapprovedfuelcanisterfollowedbythepetrolsothatthepetrol
canmixwiththeoil.Shakecontainertoensureathoroughmix.
WARNING:Lackoflubricationvoidsenginewarranty.Petrolandoilmust
bemixedata40:1ratio.
Refueling
Theenginemustbeswitchedoff.
Stoptheengineduringrefueling,keepawayfromnakedflamesanddonot
smoke.
Takecarenottospilleitherfueloroilinordertopreventsoilcontamination
(environmentalprotection).Cleanthehedgetrimmerimmediatelyafterfuel
hasbeenspilt.
Donotspillanyfuelontotheengine.Wipeupifnecessarytoavoidfire.
Avoidanyfuelcontactwithyourclothing.Changeyourclothinginstantlyiffuel
hasbeensplitonit(topreventitcatchingfire).
Inspectthefuelcapatregularintervals,makingsurethatitcanbesecurely
fastenedanddoesnotleak.
Carefullytightenthefueltankcap.Changelocationtostarttheengine(atleast
3metresawayfromtheplaceofrefuelling).
Neverrefuelinenclosedrooms.Fuelvapoursaccumulateatgroundlevel.(risk
ofpotentialexplosions).
Transportandstorefuelonlyinapprovedcontainers.Makesurethefuel
storedisnotaccessibletochildren.
Thoroughlycleantheareaaroundthetankcaptopreventdirtfromgetting

intothefueltank.
Unscrewtheplugandfillthetankwithfuel.Useagaugefunneltofilterthe
fuel.
Tightlyscrewontheplugbyhandonly.
Cleanaroundthescrewplugandthetankafterrefuelling.
Alwayswipeupanyspiltfueltopreventafire.
Storageoffuel
Fuelcannotbestoredforanunlimitedperiodoftime.
Purchaseonlythequantityrequiredfora4‐weekoperatingperiod.
Useapprovedfuelstoragecontainersonly.
OPERATION
Startingtheengine
Moveatleast3metresawayfromtheplaceofrefuelling.Placethehedgetrimmer
onacleanareaofgroundandmakesurethatthecuttingtooldoesnotcomeinto
contactwiththegroundoranyotherobjects.
Keepthebladesclearofeverythingaround,sincetheywillstartmovingas
soonastheenginestarts.
Coldstarting
Iftheengineiscoldorifithasbeenstoppedformorethan5minutesoriffuelhas
beenaddedtotheengine.
1)Pushtheswitch(11)tothe"on"position.
2)Pushtheprimerpumpgently(7to10times)untilfuelbeginstoflowintoit.

3)Movethechokelever(4)toposition
4)Holdtheunitdownfirmlysothatyouwillnotlosecontrolwhilecrankingthe
engine.Ifnothelddownproperly,theenginecouldmakeyouloseyourbalanceor
swingthecuttingbladeintoanearbyobjectoryourbody.
5)Pulloutthestarterhandleslowly(10to15cm),andcheckthepressure.Pull
stronglywhenyoufeelthepressureandstarttheengine.
6)Whentheenginestarts,returnthechokeleverto Pleasenotethatthe
chokeleverwillreturntopositionautomaticallywhenthethrottleleveris
movedandthethrottleisopened.
7)Runtheengineforapproximatelyoneminuteatamoderatespeedbefore
movinguptofullspeed.

Note:Whenrestartingtheengineimmediatelyafterstoppingit,leavethe
chokeopen.
Note:Overchokingcanmakeithardtostarttheengineduetoexcessfuel.
Iftheenginefailstostartafterseveralattempts,openthechokeandpullthe
ropeagain,orremovethesparkingpluganddryit.
Hotstarting
Restartingimmediatelyaftertheenginehasstopped.Whenrestartingahot
engine,firsttrytheaboveprocedure:1,2,4,5,6.Iftheenginedoesnotstart,repeat
theabovesteps
Donotpulltheropetotheendorreturnitbyreleasingtheknob.Thiscan
causestarterfailures.
Stoppingtheengine
Movetheengineswitchtothe“o”position.Theenginewillnowslowdownand
stop.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstopaftermovingtheswitch,closethechoke
tomakeitstop.
Anglechangeofrearhandle
Topermitverticaloperationoftheunit,theangleoftherearhandlecanbe
changed.Toreducefatiguewhentrimminghedges,thehandlecanbeswivelled
90°totheleftortotheright.

1) Presstheunlockbuttondownandholditinitslowerposition,androtatethe
rearhandle,Rotatetherearhandle90degreestotherightortotheleft.
2) Aftercompletingtherotation,releasethelockingbutton.
3) Useonlyasmuchthrottleasisneededtodothejob.Excessiveenginespeedis
unnecessary.
4) Tiltingthetrimmer5to10°towardstheobjecttobecutwillmakethings
easierandproducegoodresults.
5) Alwayskeeptothecarburetorsideofyourtrimmer,andnevertothesilencer
side.
6) Duringthefirstfewminuteswhenanewmachineisfirstused,greasemay
comeoutofthegearbox.Sincethisisexcessgrease,itisnotacauseforalarm.
Justwipeitoffwhentheengineisswitchedoff.
Verticaloperation
1) Whenrotatingtherearhandletotheright,holdtherearhandlewithyour
righthand,andthefronthandlewithyourlefthand..
2) Whenrotatingtherearhandletotheleft,holdthefronthandlewithyourright
hand,andtherearhandlewithyourlefthand.Cutusingacircularmovement.

Applylightmachineoilalongtheedgeofthebladebar.
Safetylock
Warning:Stopusingthetrimmerifthesafetylockisdefective.
Safetylock(12)isthedevicewhichstopsthethrottleleverfrombeingactivated
unintentionally.Ifyoupushthesafetylock,youwillactivatethethrottlelever
Safetylock:
1) Checkthatthethrottleleverdoesnotmoveifyoudonotpushthesafetylock.
2) Checkthatthethrottlelevermovesifyouactivateorreleaseitwhilepushing
thesafetylock.
3) Checkthatthesafetylockreturnstoitsoriginalpositionifyoutakeyourhand
fromsafetylock.

4) Ifthesechecksrevealanydefects,contactyournearestdealerandasktohave
themrepaired.
Aircleaner
1) Releasetheaircleanercoverandremovethedust.
2) Iftheelementisdirty,cleanitbytappingitorbyblowingawaythedirt.
3) Iftheelementisbentordamaged,replaceit.
4) Afteryouhavecleanedtheelementreattachittothecleanerbodywiththe
stampontheoutside(facingthecleanercover).
5) Afterthat,replacethecleanercover.
Sparkplug
Toensureproperengineoperation,thesparkplugmustbeproperlygappedand
freeofdeposits.
1.Removethesparkplugcap.
2.Cleananydirtfromaroundthesparkplugbase.
3.Usethesocketspannerwhichprovidedtoremovethesparkplug.
4.Visuallyinspectthesparkplug.Removecarbondepositsusingawirebrush.
5.Checkfordiscolorationonthetopofthesparkplug.Thestandardcolorshould
beatancolor.
6.Checkthesparkpluggap.Theacceptablegapshouldbebetween0,6‐0,7mm.
7.Install/reinstallthesparkplugcarefullybyhand.
8.Oncethesparkplughasbeenseated,tightenitwithasparkplugwrench.

9.Reinstallthesparkplugcapontopofthesparkplug.
Gearbox
Applymultipurposegreaseafterevery25hoursofuse.
Silencer
After100hoursofuse
Checktoseeifanyoilorgreasehasworkeditswayinbetweentheclutchlining
anddrum,andifithas,wipeitawayusingoil‐freeandunleadedpetrol.
Maintenancebeforestorage
1) Useadryragtowipeawayanyfuelwhichhasbeenspiltontotheunit.
2) Extractfuelfromthetankandruntheengineuntilitstopsnaturally.
3) Removethesparkingplugandputin1‐2ccof2‐ strokeoilintheengine.Pull
thestarterrope2‐3times,settheplugback,andstopitatthecontraction
position.

4) Applyanti‐rustoiltothemetalpartssuchasthethrottlewire,etc.,putthe
coverontheblade,andkeepitindoorstoavoidexposingittodampness.
STORAGE
Sothatthehedgetrimmerwillworkagainafteralongperiodofinactivity,you
shouldobservethefollowingpoints:
Emptythepetroltank.Todothis,starttheengineandletitrununtilitreaches
astandstill.Disposeoftheremainingpetrolinanenvironmentallyfriendly
way.
Lettheenginecoolandtakeoutthesparkingplug.
Pourasmallspoonfulof2‐strokemixtureintothesparkingplugopeningand
slowlypullthestartercordrightthroughtotheendseveraltimes.Thisgetsrid
ofsmalldepositsofrustandlubricatesthepistonandcylinder.
Checkthesparkingplugandreplaceitiftoomuchofthefiringtiphasbeen
burntoff.
Keepthebladeinadryplace–outofthereachoffire.
