VALVE UNIT
INSTALLATION
• Flawless operation can only be guaranteed if the device has been installed
following the installation instructions.
• The warranty will become invalid if the device is installed incorrectly or removed.
The valve unit is a precision tool that must not be modified or removed.
• Make sure that the installer has documented the details of the installation in
the Installation certificate before you approve the installation. The installation
certificate can be found on the last page of this document.
HOW DOES LEAKOMATIC WORK?
The valve unit is installed in the inflow pipes and it protects the pressurised piping
system. The measuring unit constantly analyses water consumption by measuring
the amount of water that flows through the device.

Leakomatic determines different flows depending on flow volume and time.
PULSE INDICATOR
When the water flows slower than 1 ml/s or less than 10 seconds.
I.e. filling a glass of water, brushing teeth
FLOW INDICATOR
When the water flows faster than 1 ml/s or for more than 10 seconds. Even periods
shorter than 10 seconds count together as a steady flow if they happen back-to-back.
I.e. shower, flushing the toilet, washing the car
LEAKAGE TESTS
Leakomatic has three leakage tests whose purpose is to detect different types of
leaks. Their limits and settings can be adjusted in the settings menu. The factory
settings are suitable for most households; however, if your water consumption is
above average, you can adjust the set values to allow longer flow times.
FLOW TEST
Protects from flow leakage by ensuring that the water does not flow
longer than the set time. Home and Away modes can be set at different
flow times.
QUICK TEST
Reacts to sudden drip leakage. In real time, the Quick test calculates an
index that is based on the pulse indication over the past 60 minutes.
The index has a similar function to the trend indicator; rising index
indicates increased level of consumption whereas declining index
indicates decreased level of consumption.
TIGHTNESS TEST
Long-term analysis can protect your home form hidden leaks. Every hour,
the device analyses the pulse indication of the past 24 hours. A water
tight piping system must have at least one pulseless period of time during
an analysis period.
The Leakomatic system warns if the leakage test detects any kind of a problem.
If the problem is not solved, the system automatically shuts off water and sounds an
alarm. As an exception, when Away mode is on, no flow warning will be given before
shutting off water.
Do not turn off your water supply unless the property is left empty for longer
periods of time. To work correctly, the tightness test requires a constantly available
supply of water; otherwise the test will not be able to detect hidden leaks.
LEAKOMATIC CLOUD
The control unit can be connected to the Leakomatic Cloud cloud service through
built-in Wifi. The unit monitors the property and turns off the water supply, even
when it is not connected to the cloud service. However, to make sure that you have
the most up-to-date software, we recommend connection to Leakomatic Cloud.
Connect the unit to a local Wifi network before using the service. Wifi settings can
be found in the control unit menu Installer ► Network
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Make sure that the space where the M4i control unit is installed has a Wifi
connection. It is not enough to check the strength of the signal (the number of bars)
on your phone since it only indicates the quality of the reception. Make sure the
signal is strong enough by opening an internet browser.
CONNECTING TO WIFI
1. Select “On” in WiFi settings to connect to the network.
2. Select WiFi network to make all available Wifi networks visible.
3. Select a network and confirm with the right arrow.
4. Give the network password (max. 16 characters). Select characters (upper
case, lower case or special characters) with the up/down arrows and character
positions with the right/left arrows. Confirm the password by pressing the right
arrow three times.
5. The device will be connected to the network; you can now use the cloud ser-
vice.
The device automatically receives information on possible new system updates
through the network. New software will download automatically when it becomes
available, and the device will restart.
ACTIVATING YOUR LEAKOMATIC CLOUD ACCOUNT
You can control your Leakomatic through the cloud service on a computer,
smart phone or a tablet. The cloud service opens in browser when you click
https://cloud.leakomatic.com; or you can download the Leakomatic app on Google
Play or Apple App Store.
1. Open the Cloud on the app or in browser.
2. Create a Leakomatic Cloud account by clicking ‘sign up’.
3. Obtain a PIN code in the menu Installer► Network ► Cloud PIN. The code will
be valid for 15 minutes.
Note! If the code expires, return to step 3 to get a new code.

4. Fill in the user information and the PIN code.
5. You will receive an email that contains the verification link. Click the link to
activate your new Cloud account.
Note! If you do not receive a confirmation email, check your spam folder
6. You can now log into the cloud service with your new account. Remember to
keep your passwords in a safe place.
If you already have a Leakomatic Cloud account, you can add multiple devices on
the same account in the App or on the Internet. If the unit has been oine for more
than 24 hours, a notification is given in the App. If the unit has been oine for seven
days, an e-mail is also sent to inform you that the unit has lost contact with the
cloud service.
CONTROL UNIT
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Leakomatic has three modes of operation. Press the Mode button to
select a mode. Press briefly to switch between Home and Away mode.
Keep the button pressed longer to activate the Pause mode. The selected
mode shows in the mode indicator and the on the screen.
Setting Description Indicator
Home Allows longer flow time; use when you are at
home.
Light on
Away Allows minimal water flow. Recommended to use
when you are away from home for longer periods
of time. For maximum protection, you can use this
mode every time the house is left unattended.
Flashes quickly
Pause Temporarily de-activates the setting that shuts off
water and sounds an alarm. Activate this mode
when you need an infinite amount of water, i.e. for
watering the lawn.
Flashes slowly
When you activate Pause mode you can determine how long the mode stays on
before the system returns to its normal function. You can deactivate Pause mode any
time by pressing the mode button which restores the device to its previous mode of
operation.
ALARMS
The alarm light flashes during the warning and stays on during the alarm.
Press the Clear button briefly to silence the warning and alarm sounds.
Keep the Clear button pressed to clear the alarm.
The system shuts off water only in case of an alarm. Silence the alarm by briefly
pressing the Clear button and find the cause of the alarm. The water will start to
flow again only after the alarm has been cleared.
The device warns before sounding an alarm if a delay has been set. The alarm must
be manually cleared whereas warnings can be automatically cleared through the
system after the cause of the alarm has passed.
You can set a time frame when the system stays silent to guarantee uninterrupted
sleep. Alternatively, you can permanently disable the alarm sound or only allow
sounds during a warning/alarm.

Flow test Flow has continued longer than the set maximum time.

The tightness test detects possible hidden leaks.

FLOW INDICATOR
The blue LED light on the control unit is the flow indicator. It lights
up briefly during the pulse indication and stays lit up during flow
indication. The flow indicator has a 10 second delay during which
the device analyses and determines the flow type.

MENU
Navigate the menu with arrows. Up/down arrows allow you to
browse different menus, and you access different sub-menus with
left/right arrows. Press up/down buttons to change the parameter
values and then the right arrow to save settings or the left arrow
to exit without saving.

MAIN MENU
The landing page shows the current mode, time, state of
alarm and quick test index. Pause mode calculates the time
that remains before the system returns to its previous mode.
When you turn the device on, the system shows quick test
indexes in brackets which means that the shown value has
not been established yet.
Tightness test status page shows the status, the duration of
the analysis period and the longest pulseless period of the
tightness test. The alarm activates after a 24-hour analysis
period. The longest pulseless period can be used as a
reference if you wish to adjust Tightness test limits.
Flow test status page shows the status and the flow time of
the flow test. After the flow indicator turns off, it shows the
flow time of the last registered flow
Quick test status page shows the status and the index value
of the quick test. The maximum index limit of the quick test
is shown in brackets
ACTIVITY MENU
The menu contains a list of past activities. Each activity or
alarm will be saved in the system with its date, time and
type (WARN or ALRM). Cleared activities have been marked
with (CLR). The data is saved even if the system loses power.
STATUS MENU
The mode menu includes sensor data, AUX inputs and valves as well as AUX outputs.
Indicates registered pulses after installation or after resto-
ring factory settings. Current valve position (OPEN/CLOSED)

Cloud connection status (OFFLINE/ONLINE) as well as the IP
address of the selected Wifi network. Possible problems:
WiFi disconnect - Wrong password or WiFi AP is unavailable
Requesting IP - Connected to AP and waits for DHCP
The name and the strength of signal of the selected WiFi

Software model and version as well as the unit’s operating
time since the last restart.
SETTINGS MENU
Change system and test settings on the settings menu. The menu has the following
structure. Factory settings have been indicated by underlining.

Start mode Indicates the start mode of the device after it
has been without power.

Flow test (FT)
FT alarms Indicates whether the device is monitoring types
of flow or not. If ”Disabled” is selected, the
below mentioned FT alarm times do not have an
effect.

close. It activates the alarm after the water has
flowed longer than the set time of flow.

INSTALLATION MENU
The installation menu contains settings that are usually set up at the same time as
the system. The menu has the following structure.
Network
WiFi Determines whether WiFi has been activated. Enabled/

WiFi network Finds and lists available WiFi networks. Select the
network and give the password using arrows.
Confirm the password by pressing the right arrow
three times.
Cloud PIN Request a PIN code to connect to your Cloud
account. The code will be valid for 15 minute or
until a new code is requested.
Valve handling
Conditioning Determines whether Maintenance has been
activated. If ”Disabled” is selected, maintenance
will not be performed automatically.

Input handling
AUX1 in Indicates whether you prefer to switch between
the Home mode and the Away mode with a separate
button or with the burglar alarm. In other cases,
the input can be set to rise a warning or an alarm
from an external device, i.e. moisture sensor,
thermostat or pressure sensor. If a pulse water meter
is connected to the input, the water consumption
can be calculated. If ”Disabled”, no activity will be
registered through this input.

RESTART
There are various ways to restart the screen:
• Through the menu. The text ”Restart” will be shown on the screen and the device
is restarted.
• By turning the device off and on again.
FACTORY SETTINGS
There are various ways to restore the screen’s factory settings:
• Through the menu. The text ”Factory settings” will be shown on the screen and
the device will be restarted with the factory settings.
• Turn the power off and keep both the Mode button and Clear button pressed
until the device restarts. The text ”Factory settings” will be shown on the screen
and the buttons can be released.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
In case the screen clock shows the wrong time after a blackout, change the backup
batteries.
1. Lift the control panel off the mounting screws to remove it from the wall.
2. Remove screws on the back and remove the back cover.
3. Remove the circuit board (CPU card) by gently pulling it up.
4. Remove battery (model CR2032) and place a new battery inside.
5. Place the CPU card in its place in a way that the white arrow points up towards
the top part of the box. The arrows on both circuit boards must point in the
same direction to avoid circuit board damage.
6. Put the back cover back in.

MAINTENANCE
Perform the following maintenance once per year:
9Check that Flow indicator lights up when water is flowing. A delay of a few
seconds is normal.
9Test the magnetic valve regularly. Set the system in Away mode, open a faucet
and check that the system shuts the water supply off.
9Clean the dirt filter. A blocked filter may cause problems in water supply or
water pressure. See installation manual.
If needed:
9If the clock on the screen panel shows the wrong time after a blackout, change
the battery.
