Anbringen des Tragriemens und des
Okular-Schutzdeckels
(Siehe auch Bilder 1a/1b auf hinterer Umschlagseite)
Beachten Sie bitte, dass der Tragriemen zwei Schlaufen
besitzt:
– eine kürzere zur Befestigung an der Öse des Mono-
kulars
– eine längere zur Befestigung des Okularschutzdeckels
Einstellen der Augenmuschel/
Verwendung mit und ohne Brille
Die Okular-Augenmuschel (1) ist verschiebbar. Für die
Beobachtung ohne Brille sollte sie herausgezogen (1a) –,
für die Beobachtung mit Brille hereingeschoben werden
(1b).
Einstellen der Schärfe
Die Einstellung der Schärfe auf verschieden weit ent-
fernte Objekte erfolgt mit dem Fokussierungsring (3).
Verwendung der Nahlinse
Das LEICA MONOVID 8x20 kann auch zur vergrößerten
Betrachtung von Gegenständen in der Nähe eingesetzt
werden. Die Nahlinse (5) im Lieferumfang wird dazu
in das Innengewinde (5a) des Monokular-Objektivs
geschraubt (im Uhrzeigersinn). Es ergibt sich je nach
Stellung des Fokussierungsrings dann ein Betrachtungs-
abstand von ca. 25–30cm bei gleichbleibender Vergrö-
ßerung.

Pflege/Reinigung
Eine besondere Pflege Ihres LEICA MONOVID 8x20 ist
nicht notwendig. Grobe Schmutzteilchen, wie z.B. Sand,
sollten mit einem Haarpinsel entfernt oder weggeblasen
werden. Fingerabdrücke u.Ä. auf Objektiv- und Okular-
linsen können mit einem weichen, sauberen Leder oder
staubfreien Tuch abgewischt werden. Wasserflecken
auf den Objektiv und Okularlinsen lassen sich am
einfachsten mit einem mit Wasser befeuchteten Tuch
entfernen.
Achtung:
Üben Sie auch beim Abwischen stark verschmutzter
Linsenoberflächen keinen großen Druck aus. Die Ver-
gütung ist zwar hoch-abriebfest, durch Sand oder Salz-
kristalle kann sie dennoch beschädigt werden.

Falls sie einmal Ersatzteile für Ihr LEICA MONOVID 8x20
benötigen sollten, wie z.B. Augenmuscheln oder den
Tragriemen, wenden Sie sich bitte an unseren Customer

Attaching the carrying strap and
the eyepiece protective cap
(See also Figure 1a/1b on the inside rear cover)
Note that the carrying strap has two loops:
– a shorter loop for attaching to the eyelet on the
monocular
– a longer loop for attaching the eyepiece protective
cap
Adjusting the eye cup/
Using with and without glasses
The eyepiece eye cup (1) is adjustable. It should be
extended (1a) for viewing without and retracted for
viewing with glasses (1b).
Adjusting the focus
The focus is adjusted for objects at different distances
using the focusing ring (3).
Using the close up lens
The LEICA MONOVID 8x20 can also be used to provide
a magnified view of objects that are at close range.
To do this, the close up lens (5) supplied is screwed into
the inner thread (5a) on the monocular lens (clockwise).
Depending on the position of the focusing ring, this
results in a viewing distance of around 25–30cm with
an identical magnification.

Care/cleaning
Your LEICA MONOVID 8x20 does not require any
special care. Coarse dirt particles, such as sand, should
be removed with a hair pencil or blown off. Fingerprints
etc. on the lens and the eyepiece lenses can be wiped
off with a soft, clean leather or lint free cloth. The best
way to remove spots of water on the lens and eyepiece
lenses is with a cloth moistened with water.
Caution:
When wiping heavily soiled lens surfaces, do not exert
excessive force. Although the coating is highly abrasion
resistant, it can be damaged by sand or salt crystals.

If you require any spare parts for your LEICA MONOVID
8x20, e.g. eye cups or the carrying strap, contact our
Customer Service department or the Leica office in your

Mise en place de la courroie de port et
du couvercle de protection de l’oculaire

couverture)
Notez que la courroie de port comporte deux
dragonnes:
– une plus courte, pour la fixation à l’œillet de la
monoculaire
– une plus longue, pour la fixation au couvercle de
protection de l’oculaire
Réglage de l’œillère/
utilisation avec et sans lunettes
L’œillère de l’oculaire (1) est mobile. Pour une observa-
tion sans lunettes, elle doit être déployée (1a), sinon,
elle doit être rétractée (1b).
Réglage de la netteté
Pour régler la netteté de différents objets très éloignés,
utilisez la bague de mise au point (3).
Utilisation de la bonnette d’approche
Le LEICA MONOVID 8x20 peut également être utilisé
pour le grossissement d’objets proches. La bonnette
d’approche (5) fournie est alors vissée dans le filetage
intérieur (5a) de l’objectif de la monoculaire (dans le
sens des aiguilles d’une montre). Selon le réglage de
la bague de mise au point, la distance d’observation
est alors d’environ 25–30cm avec un grossissement
uniforme.

Entretien/nettoyage
Il n’est pas nécessaire de prendre des précautions
d’entretien particulières avec le LEICA MONOVID 8x 20.
Enlevez les particules grossières, telles que le sable,
avec un pinceau fin ou en soufflant dessus. Vous pouvez
essuyer les traces sur les lentilles de l’objectif ou de
l’oculaire, par exemple les empreintes digitales, à l’aide
d’une peau de chamois propre et douce ou d’un chiffon
non pelucheux. Vous pouvez éliminer aisément les
éclaboussures d’eau sur l’objectif et l’oculaire à l’aide
d’un chiffon humide.
Attention:
Veillez à ne pas exercer de pression importante sur
la surface de la lentille lors de son nettoyage, même
si elle est très sale. Bien que la couche anti-reflet soit
résistante aux rayures, elle peut être endommagée par
le sable ou les cristaux de sel.

Aanbrengen van de draagriem
en de oculair-beschermdop

Let erop dat de draagriem twee lussen heeft:
– een korte voor bevestiging aan het oog van de mono-
cular
– een lange voor bevestiging aan de oculair-bescherm-
dop
Instellen van de oogschelp/
gebruik met en zonder bril
De oculair-oogschelp (1) is verschuifbaar. Voor waarne-
ming zonder bril moet deze uitgetrokken (1a) –, voor
waarneming met bril ingeschoven worden (1b).
Instellen van de scherpte
De instelling van de scherpte op objecten met ver-
schillende afstanden vindt plaats met de focusserings-
ring (3).
Gebruik van de lens voor dichtbij
De LEICA MONOVID 8x20 kan ook voor de waarneming
van voorwerpen in de buurt worden gebruikt. De lens
voor dichtbij (5) in de leveringsomvang wordt daarvoor
in de binnendraad (5a) van het monocular-objectief
geschroefd (rechtsom). Er ontstaat afhankelijk van de
stand van de focusseringsring dan een observatie-
afstand van ca. 25–30cm bij dezelfde vergroting.
