You have just become a valued LeMond Revolution customer. Our team is committed to making your cycling
customer support you can depend on.We want to thank you for purchasing the exciting LeMondREVOLUTION
bike trainer.
The REVOLUTION has been tested and is endorsed by some of America’s top cyclists. Our company founder,
Greg LeMond, inspired a design for a new bike trainer, and the result is truly remarkable. Greg’s story is
and most physically demanding event in the world–the Tour de France. Only nine months later in April
of 1987, he narrowly escaped death when he was accidentally shot in a hunting accident. During a long
and painful rehabilitation, he set a goal that many considered inconceivable; to win the Tour de France
again. In 1989, he achieved that goal, and then proved it was no mere stroke of luck by winning the Tour
a third time in 1990.
Greg’s passion for cycling combined with exceptional design innovation establish the REVOLUTION as
the new standard in bike trainers. Every component of the REVOLUTION has been designed to be more
user-friendly than any other trainer on the market and deliver an incredible workout. Whether you are a

muscles are warmed up, gradually increase the pedaling rate to a speed that allows you to attain
your target training zone.
Always exercise in a well ventilated open area to maintain a safe core temperature. We recom-
mend using a fan to circulate air.
The speed and duration of your exercise program should always be subject to how you feel. Never
permit peer pressure to exceed your personal judgment while exercising.
Overweight or severely unconditioned individuals should be particularly cautious when using
physical problems, they may perceive the exercise to be far less intense than it really is, resulting
in the possibility of overexertion or injury.
Although all equipment manufactured by LeMond Revolution LLC. has been thoroughly inspected
by the manufacturing facility prior to shipment, proper assembly and regular maintenance are
required to ensure safety. Maintenance is the sole responsibility of the owner.
When the REVOLUTION is in use the fan and pulley assembly will be spinning at high speeds. For safe
operation, allow at least three (3) feet (1m) of free space on all sides of the unit and the bicycle
mounted on it. Failure to do so can cause serious injury.
The safety level of this equipment can only be maintained by following the guidelines in this manual and
examining the equipment regularly for damage and wear. Damaged or inoperable components should
be replaced immediately and the equipment should not be used until it is repaired.
Failure to follow all guidelines above may compromise your exercise experience, expose you and others
to injury, and reduce the longevity of the equipment

RIDING THE REVOLUTION
!
WARNING: USE CAUTION WHEN MOUNTING AND RIDING YOUR BICYCLE ON THE REVOLUTION
FOR THE FIRST TIME. START PEDALING SLOWLY TO GET A FEEL FOR THE EQUIPMENT. RIDING
THE REVOLUTION FEELS A LOT LIKE RIDING ON THE ROAD, BUT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO GET
USED TO. SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS TO ENSURE CLEAN AND PROPER SHIFTING. IT SHOULD
NOT BE NECESSARY TO ADJUST YOUR DERAILLEUR TO WORK WITH THE REVOLUTION,
HOWEVER, SUBTLE DIFFERENCES IN BICYCLES EXIST AND MAY MAKE SHIFTING FEEL DIFFER
ENT.
ADJUSTING THE FIT
If your bicycle is set up properly for your body then you should not need to make any adjustments prior
REVOLUTION. If you are unsure about the setup of your bicycle please visit your local
bike shop prior to using it with your LeMond REVOLUTION.
BASIC OPERATION
With your bike safely installed on the REVOLUTION (see instructions on p.11), mount the bicycle nor-
mally and begin to pedal.
!
WARNING: DURING YOUR FIRST USE OF THE REVOLUTION START PEDALING SLOWLY AT FIRST
TO GET A FEEL FOR THE EQUIPMENT. SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS ON YOUR BIKE AT A SLOW
PEDALING PACE TO ENSURE OVERALL STABILITY PRIOR TO EXERTING HEAVY PEDAL FORCE.
We designed the REVOLUTION to be stable in all riding conditions, including standing up, however use
caution when pedaling standing up as the bike and trainer can tilt and become unbalanced.
Just like riding outside, pedaling resistance on the REVOLUTION is determined by how hard you pedal.
If you want to train harder–pedal harder.
!
WARNING: IF AT ANY TIME DURING YOUR WORKOUT, YOU FEEL CHEST PAIN, EXPERIENCE
SEVERE MUSCULAR DISCOMFORT, FEEL FAINT, OR ARE SHORT OF BREATH, STOP EXERCISING
IMMEDIATELY. IF THE CONDITION PERSISTS, YOU SHOULD CONSULT YOUR MEDICAL DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
Before dismounting, allow the REVOLUTION to spin down and stop. The trainer is not equipped with a
brake, and therefore the fan and pulley will continue to spin after pedaling has stopped.
!
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SLOW OR STOP THE PULLEY OR FAN! ANY ATTEMPT TO SLOW
OR STOP THE TRAINER CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.

NERAL EXERCISE GUIDELINE
S
SETTING A GOAL
exercise program that is geared to build muscle, maintain muscle tone, increase aerobic capacity, or
program. Based upon a comprehensive analysis of your personal exercise needs and interests, you
should then develop (or have developed for you by a competent or trained professional) an individual-
come from a lifestyle change that encourages a lifetime of physical activity.
One way to guarantee success in reaching your goal is to eat correctly. A well-rounded diet provides the
proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water necessary for good health. If you are unsure
of your dietary needs, seek the advise of your physician, an exercise professional, or visit your local book-
store for more information on nutrition.
FLEXIBILITY TRAINING*
Achieving and maintaining adequate range of motion should always be an objective of a comprehen-
sive exercise program. The warm-up phase of your exercise session should include some type of light
warm-up activity to increase both your heart rate and your body temperature, which is then followed by
skeletal joints. Attempting to stretch a cold muscle can be dangerous to the soft tissues surrounding the
muscle. No matter how controlled the movement, forcing a muscle through a full range of motion (and
beyond) without appropriately warming up is both unsafe and counterproductive.
guidelines:
Frequency Daily
Intensity To a position of mild discomfort
Duration 10-30 seconds for each stretch
Repetitions 2-6 for each stretch
Type Static, with a major emphasis on the low back and hamstring areas
because of the high prevalence of low-back pain syndrome in our
society.
GENERAL EXERCISE GUIDELINES
18

EXERCISE PRINCIPLES *
The American College of Sports Medicine has developed a position paper concerning exercise programs
for healthy adults and the need for guidelines. The following recommendations concern the quantity
Frequency 3 to 5 days per week
Intensity 50% - 85% of maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 max)
Duration 20 to 60 minutes of continuous aerobic activity
Mode of Activity Any activity that uses the large muscle groups, that can be maintained
continuously, and is rhythmic and aerobic in nature.
Rate of Progression Initial Conditioning: - 4 to 6 weeks; low end intensity (40% - 60% VO2
max); low end duration (15 to 20 minutes).
Improvement Stage: - 6 weeks to 6 months; moderate intensity; moder-
ate duration.
Maintenance Stage: - 6 months plus; moderate to high intensity; moder-
ate to high duration.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Generally speaking, the LeMond REVOLUTION does not require regular maintenance. However, we do
recommend that you maintain a regular maintenance schedule on the bicycle you are using with the
REVOLUTION. Please consult your local bike mechanic for a recommended maintenance schedule.
!
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR BICYCLE WHILE IT IS MOUNTED ON THE
REVOLUTION. CHAIN AND DRIVETRAIN DEGREASERS CAN PENETRATE SEALED BEARINGS AND
DAMAGE THE EQUIPMENT.
In addition to regular bike maintenance we recommend that you perform the following:
Wipe down the trainer after each use to prevent dust and sweat buildup on the unit.
Inspect the axle skewer before each use to ensure that the bike is securely mounted.
Check the leveling feet weekly to ensure the stability of the REVOLUTION.
Inspect the belt for wear weekly.
Note:
Check the fan shroud and belt cover for tightness monthly, if either cover is loose tighten the ap-
propriate fasteners.
