rCRU,dntpenthestatic-prtectivepackagecntainingthepartuntiltheinstructinsdirectyu
tinstallit.
WhenyuhandleptinsrCRUs,rperfrmanywrkinsidethecmputer,takethefllwingprecautins
tavidstatic-electricitydamage:
•Limityurmvement.Mvementcancausestaticelectricitytbuilduparundyu.
•Alwayshandlecmpnentscarefully.Handleadapters,memrymdules,andthercircuitbardsbythe
edges.Nevertuchexpsedcircuitry.
•Preventthersfrmtuchingcmpnents.
•Whenyuinstallastatic-sensitiveptinrCRU,tuchthestatic-prtectivepackagecntainingthe
parttametalexpansin-sltcverrtherunpaintedmetalsurfacenthecmputerfratleasttw
secnds.Thisreducesstaticelectricityinthepackageandyurbdy.
•Whenpssible,remvethestatic-sensitivepartfrmthestatic-prtectivepackagingandinstallthepart

Usenlythepwercrdsandpweradapterssuppliedbytheprductmanufacturer.Dntusetheac

thercuntries,thesuitabletypesshallbeusedaccrdingly.
Neverwrapapwercrdarundapweradapterrtherbject.Dingscanstressthecrdinwaysthat
cancausethecrdtfray,crack,rcrimp.Thiscanpresentasafetyhazard.
Alwaysrutepwercrdssthattheywillntbewalkedn,trippedver,rpinchedbybjects.
Prtectpwercrdandpweradaptersfrmliquids.Frinstance,dntleaveyurpwercrdrpwer
adapternearsinks,tubs,tilets,rnflrsthatarecleanedwithliquidcleansers.Liquidscancausea
shrtcircuit,particularlyifthepwercrdrpweradapterhasbeenstressedbymisuse.Liquidsalscan
causegradualcrrsinfpwercrdterminalsand/rthecnnectrterminalsnapweradapter,
whichcaneventuallyresultinverheating.
Ensurethatallpwercrdcnnectrsaresecurelyandcmpletelypluggedintreceptacles.
Dntuseanypweradapterthatshwscrrsinattheacinputpinsrshwssignsfverheating(such

areused,theladshuldntexceedthepwerstripinputrating.Cnsultanelectricianfrmreinfrmatin
ifyuhavequestinsabutpwerlads,pwerrequirements,andinputratings.
Plugsandoutlets
Ifareceptacle(pwerutlet)thatyuintendtusewithyurcmputerequipmentappearstbedamaged
rcrrded,dntusetheutletuntilitisreplacedbyaqualifiedelectrician.
