Chapter 2. Get started with your Chrome ook
Charge your Chrome ook
The USB-C co ector o your Chromebook works as the power co ector. Plug i the ac power adapter to
charge the built-i battery pack a d provide power to the Chromebook.
Connect to ac power
CAUTION:
All plugs must e firmly and securely inserted into receptacles.
1. Co ect the power cord to the ac power adapter.
2. Plug the power adapter i to the power co ector of the Chromebook.
3. Plug the power cord i to a electrical outlet.

1. Wallpaper Your wallpaper might look differe t. To cha ge the wallpaper, right-
click a bla k area of your desktop a d select Set Wallpaper.
2. Search box a d App Lau cher • Type the ame of your device, app, or Web page i the search box.
• Ope a app quickly from the App Lau cher.
3. Status tray Ma age co ectio s, updates, a d setti gs. By default, the time,
etwork co ectio status, battery status, a d your accou t picture
are displayed.
4. App shelf Pi your freque tly-used app or Web page to the app shelf for easy
access.

Connect to Wi-Fi
To co ect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi:
1. Click your accou t picture.
2. Click the etwork ico a d tur o the wireless feature.
3. Select a available etwork to co ect. Provide required i formatio , if eeded.
Get to know YOGA modes
Your computer display ca be rotated to a y a gle up to 360 degrees.

Attention:
• Do ot rotate the computer display with too much force, or apply too much force to the upper-right or
upper-left cor er of the computer display. Otherwise, the computer display or hi ges might get damaged.
• The keyboard a d the poi ti g devices are automatically disabled i sta d mode, te t mode, a d tablet
mode. Use the touch scree to co trol your computer i stead.
Your Chromebook features the followi g four modes. You ca switch amo g differe t modes accordi g to
your prefere ce.

Connect to Bluetooth devices
Your Chromebook supports Bluetooth feature. You ca co ect your Chromebook to a Bluetooth keyboard,
mouse, speakers, or other Bluetooth devices.
Note: The Bluetooth devices must be withi a short dista ce, usually 10 meters (33 feet), from the
Chromebook.
1. Click your accou t picture, a d the click the Bluetooth ico .
2. Tur o Bluetooth.
3. Select the device you wa t to pair with a d follow the o -scree i structio s.
Set the power plan
For ENERGY STAR® complia t computers, the followi g power pla takes effect whe your computers have
bee idle for a specified duratio :

• Use a dry, soft, a d li t-free cloth or a piece of absorbe t cotto to remove fi gerpri ts or dust from the
multi-touch scree . Do ot apply solve ts to the cloth.
• The multi-touch scree is a glass pa el covered with a plastic film. Do ot apply pressure or place a y
metallic object o the scree , which might damage the touch pa el or cause it to malfu ctio .
• Do ot use fi ger ails, gloved fi gers, or i a imate objects for i put o the scree .
• Regularly calibrate the accuracy of the fi ger i put to avoid a discrepa cy.

You ca use the touchpad to perform various touch gestures. The followi g sectio i troduces some

Notes:
• Whe usi g two or more fi gers, e sure that you positio your fi gers slightly apart.
• Some gestures are o ly available whe you are usi g certai apps.
• If the touchpad surface is stai ed with oil, first tur off the computer. The ge tly wipe the touchpad
surface with a soft a d li t-free cloth moiste ed with lukewarm water or computer clea er.

Notes:
• The pe is ot waterproof. Take care ot to drop the pe i water.
• The pe co tai s pressure se sors. Do ot push the tip of the pe for a exte ded period of time. Do ot
subject the pe to shock or vibratio .
