1. Microphones Capture or record sound and voice.
2. Camera Capture still and moving images for taking photos, recording videos,
and video chatting.
3. Camera cover slider Move the slider to cover or uncover the camera lens.
Note: The camera cover helps you better protect your privacy.
4. Camera light If the light is on, the camera is in use.
5. Screen Display text, graphics, and videos. Selected models support multi-

1. Po er button/Fingerprint reader* • Press the button to turn on the computer or put the computer into
sleep mode.
• Selected models support the fingerprint reader function. Enroll and
read your fingerprint for user authentication.
2. Po er light/Fingerprint reader light* The light sho s the po er status of the computer. If the computer
includes a fingerprint reader, it can also sho the status of the reader.
• Po er light
– Solid hite: The computer is turned on.
– Off: The computer is turned off or in hibernation mode.
– Blinking hite: The computer is in sleep mode.
• Fingerprint reader light*
– Blinking (for t o seconds) and then solid amber: The fingerprint
reader is ready.
– Solid hite: The fingerprint scan is successful.
3. Speakers Produce sound.
4. Keyboard Enter characters and interact ith programs.
Note: The keyboard also includes hotkeys and function keys for
changing settings and performing tasks quickly.
5. Touchpad Perform finger touch and all the functions of a traditional mouse.
Note: The touchpad also supports multi-touch function.
6. Wireless antennas Send and receive radio aves for the built-in ireless LAN (local area
net ork) and Bluetooth module.
Notes:
• The antennas are not visible from the outside of the computer.
• If the location of the antennas is close to the user’s body (< 20 cm),
you can find the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values in the Setup
Guide that comes ith your computer.

1. Po er connector* Connect to po er ith the included po er cord and ac po er
adapter.
Note: Some models do not have an individual po er connector. They
use the USB-C connector to charge instead. Please refer to the actual
product.
2. Charging light Indicate hether the computer is connected to ac po er.
• Solid hite: Connected to ac po er; battery capacity 91%–100%
• Solid amber: Connected to ac po er; battery capacity 1%–90%
• Off: Not connected to ac po er

3. USB-CTM connector/Po er connector Connect to an external display, a storage device, a data device, or to
po er.
Note: An appropriate adapter may be needed for connecting external
devices.
4. HDMITM connector Connect to a compatible digital audio device or video monitor, such
as an HDTV.
5. Combo audio jack Connect to headphones or headsets ith a 3.5 mm (0.14 inch), 4-pole
plug.
Note: This jack does not support standalone external microphones. If
you use headsets, choose one ith a single plug.
6. Novo button hole Press the Novo button to open the Novo Button menu. From the
menu, you can choose to open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility, the Boot
menu, or the Windo s startup options screen.
7. System status light Indicate the system status of your computer.
• Solid hite: The computer is turned on; battery capacity 21%–
100%
• Blinking quickly: The computer is turned on; battery capacity 1%–
20%
• Blinking slo ly: The computer is in sleep mode.
• Off: The computer is turned off.

1. System status light Indicate the system status of your computer.

2. Novo button hole Press the Novo button to open the Novo Button menu. From the
menu, you can choose to open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility, the Boot
menu, or the Windo s startup options screen.

3. SD card slot Insert an SD card or a MultiMediaCard (MMC) into the slot for data
transfer or storage.
4. USB (3.2 Gen 1/Gen 2) Type-A connector Connect a USB-compatible device, such as a USB keyboard, a USB
mouse, a USB storage device, or a USB printer.
5. USB (3.2 Gen 1/Gen 2) Type-A connector
(al ays-on)
The al ays-on connector can charge external devices hen the
computer is turned off, in sleep or hibernation mode. The al ays-on
function can be turned on or off in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is pre-installed on your computer, you can
also set al ays-on function from ithin that soft are.

To configure settings, type the corresponding key ords in the Windo s search box and select the best
match. Follo the on-screen instructions to customize settings.

For models ith a ireless LAN module, you can connect your computer to
a Wi-Fi® net ork. Click the net ork icon in the Windo s notification area,
and then select a net ork for connection.
Note: The ireless LAN module on your computer may support different
standards. For some countries or regions, use of 802.11ax may be disabled
according to local regulations.

Airplane mode Airplane mode is a convenient setting to turn all ireless communications of
your computer on and off. You may need to turn it on hen boarding an
airplane.

Updates
Microsoft periodically releases feature and security updates to the Windo s
operating system. Updates that are applicable to your Windo s version are
do nloaded automatically hen your computer is connected to the
Internet. When updates are do nloaded, you are prompted to restart the
computer to install these updates. You can also manually check if there are
available updates for the installed version of Windo s.
ttention: Only use Windo s Update to do nload and install updates.
Updates do nloaded from other sources may include security risks.

Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager
Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager is soft are developed by Lenovo. Using the soft are, you can:
• Vie product information
• Vie arranty and support information
• Run hard are scan and diagnose problems
• Change hard are settings
• Update Windo s, drivers, and UEFI/BIOS
Lenovo Vantage or PC Manager may be pre-installed on your computer. To open it, enter the soft are name
in Windo s Search and select the matched result.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is not pre-installed, you can do nload it from Microsoft Store.
The Novo Button menu
The Novo Button menu can be displayed before the operating system starts. From the menu, you can
choose to
• Open the BIOS/UEFI setup utility
• Open the boot device selection menu
• Open the Windo s startup options screen
Open the Novo Button menu
For Lenovo computers ith a Novo button, you can press the button to open the Novo Button menu.
Step 1. Turn off the computer.
Step 2. Open the LCD screen and press the Novo button.
Note: Alternatively, turn off the computer. Press Fn and the po er button to open the Novo Button menu.
Interact with your computer
Keyboard hotkeys
Some keys on the keyboard are printed ith icons. These keys are called hotkeys and can be pressed alone
or in combination ith the Fn key to open certain apps or change certain settings quickly. The functions of
the hotkeys are symbolized by the icons printed on them.
Hotkey Function
Mute/Unmute sound.
Decrease/Increase system volume.
Mute/Unmute the microphone.
Increase/Decrease screen brightness.
