The mouseneedstwoAA sizebatteries.Followthe stepsbelowtoinstallthe batteries.
1. Press the button and thebatterycoverpopsout.
2.Installtwo"AA"batterieswhileobserving the polarity(+and -)indicatedinside the mouse.

3Installing and Uninstalling the
WIDCOMM Bluetooth Stack
3.1InstallingtheWIDCOMM BluetoothStack
BeforeinstallingtheWIDCOMM Bluetoothstack, plug the USB BluetoothdongleintoaUSB
port of yourcomputer.
1. Insertthe provided InstallationCD inthe CDROMdrive.
2. The installation stack loadsautomatically. Ifnot, click the
Setup.exe inthebinfolderof the CD ROM.
3. The welcomescreen introducesyou tothe installation process. Click Next tocontinue.
4. Read theagreement and select “Iaccepthetermsinthelicenseagreement”. Click Next to
continue.

5.Theprogramwillbeinstalledinthe folderasshown.Click Change toinstallinadifferentlocation.
Click Next tocontinue.
6. Click Install tostart theinstallation. Theinstallationmayneed sometimetocomplete.
7. The following screen appearstoindicatetheinstallation iscomplete.

8. Removethe dongleandplug itback in, the mousewillpairautomatically. Click Finish toexit
the installation.
The followingprompt requiresyou torestart thecomputersothat theBluetoothstack takes
effect. Click Yes torestart yourcomputernowor No torestartlater.
3.2Uninstalling theWIDCOMM BluetoothStack
Followthe stepsbelowtouninstallthe WIDCOMM Bluetoothstack fromyourcomputer.
1. Removethe USB Bluetoothdongle.
2. Click Start>Settings>Control Panel >Add/Remove
Programs.
3. Select WIDCOMMBluetoothSoftware fromthe programlist andclick Remove.
4. The systemstartstoremovethe program, itmaytakesometimetouninstall.
5.When theprogramhasbeen removed, aprompt requiresyou torestart the computer. Click Yes
torestart yourcomputernowor No torestartlater.
4. Setting up theLaserMouse
4.1QuickPairing inWindows
The Bluetoothmousehasbeen set toapre-pairing mode asthe factory default.Forquick pairing, enablethe
pre-pairing mode following the stepsbelow.
1. Plug the USBBluetoothdongleintoaUSBportofyourcomputer.
2. Forthe mouse, press the pairing button atitsbottom.

3. Press the button on thebottomof the USB Bluetoothdongleuntilthe LEDbeginstoflash
onceeverysecond.Thisindicatesthe. Bluetoothdonglehasstarted tosearchfordeviceto
be paired.( Thismousewillbesoldwithout dongle.)
4. Moveyourmousetoensuretheyareconnected.
Enablingthefunction ofUSBmouseinBIOS
If the mousefailedtowork(referto 7Troubleshooting”onpage14 formoreprobable
conditions), check that the USB functionof themousehasbeen enabled intheBIOSsetup.
SomeoldPCsystemsdo not support the USBkeyboard/mousein
BIOS/DOSenvironment.
4.2PairingonWIDCOMM BluetoothStack
Beforeusing the Bluetoothstack formousepairing,installthestack asinstructed in 3Installing
andUninstallingtheWIDCOMMBluetoothStack”.Then followthe stepsbelow.
1.Press the USB Bluetoothdonglebutton untilthefollowing Human InterfaceDevice(HID)screen
appears.

2.Whenthe mouseisconnected, the following confirmation message appears. Click toconfirm
that the correct mouseisconnected.

Afterplugginginthe USB Bluetoothdongleandsetting themouseintheBluetoothconnection
environment asdescribedin 4.SettinguptheLaserMouse”, youcan beginusing the mouse
immediately.
5.1Power Statusof theLaser Mouse
The BluetoothmousehasabatterystatusLED.Whenthe batteryrunsout,
the LEDturnsamber. You shouldchange thebatteriesimmediately
.(The top LEDindicateisthe samewithbottomLED)
Toviewmoredetailedinformationonthemousebatterystatus, go tothe Controlpanel>Mouse >
Bluetooth.

6. Using theWIDCOMM Bluetooth Stack
6.1UsingtheStack fortheFirstTime
Tostart using the BluetoothStack, doubleclick theBluetoothiconinthesystemtray.
1. The InitialBluetoothConfiguration Wizard willlaunch.Followthe instructionsonscreento
completethe configuration.
2.When theBluetoothConfiguration iscomplete, the following HIDscreen appearsand startsto
searchforBluetoothdevices.
3. Click onthe HIDdeviceyou want toconnect with.Thenfollowthe instructionson-screento
enabletheselecteddevice.
AbouttheBluetoothicon
The Bluetoothicon actsasan indicatorfordonglestatus.
1. Ared icon indicatesthereisno dongleinserted.
2. Awhiteicon indicatesthe dongleispluggedin.
3. Agreen icon indicatesthe donglehasdetected the HIDdevices.

6.2ConnectingtotheotherHIDDevices
Besidesthe mouse, the BluetoothStack alsoallowsyou toconnect tootherBluetoothdevices.
1. MakesuretheUSB Bluetoothdonglehasbeen plugged ontoyourcomputer.
2. Set the Bluetoothdevices, suchasprinters,modems, and PDAs, you want toconnect tothe
Bluetoothstack.
3. Press the USB Bluetoothdonglebuttonuntilthefollowing HID
screen appears.
4. Selectthe type of devicestosearchforfromthe drop-downmenu.
5.Thedetected deviceswillbe displayed.Clickon adeviceandthe stackwill instructyoutoenable
the connection.

7. Troubleshooting
If you haveanyproblemswithyourBluetoothmouse, pleasecheck the following:
Check thesystemrequirementstomakesurethat yoursystemiscompatible.
Check tosee if thebatteriesinthe mouseareinstalled correctly. Makesurethepolarityofthe
batteriescorrespondswiththe polaritysignsinsidethe mousebatterycompartments.
When themouseLEDislit red,itindicatesbatterypowerlow. Replacethemwithnewbatteries
immediately.
Oncethe Bluetoothstack (see InstallingtheWIDCOMM BluetoothStack”on page 4)has
been installedinyourcomputer, you can checkthe batterystatusof mousefrom Control Panel
>Mouse>Bluetooth.
Ifthemousefail towork,checktheUSB mousefunctioninyoursystem’sBIOS.The function
shouldbe enabled for
the normaluseof mouse.
If yourPCsystem’sBIOSsetup hasoptionsforthe mouse, makesuretheyareset todefault
settings. If youarenotfamiliarwiththe BIOS, refertoyourPC’smanualformoreinformation.
Onlyusethe mouseon aclean, flat,non-slipperysurfaceinordertoensuresmoothand accurate
cursoraction. If you useamouse-pad, choosealight-colored one, not adarkone, touseless
batterypower.
