HOMER
Parts list
Carefully unpack all of the parts of your Homer. Along with the wood parts,
you will also find a package with the necessary hardware.
If you have embarked on an odyssey of
finding maximum-use furniture for
minimum spaces, Homer will deliver.
On one side are two storage drawers
plus a file drawer for letter folders. On
the other are a conveniently angled
bookshelf and a newspaper/magazine
rack underneath. Homer also features
four casters, two of which lock.

BUILDING YOUR CABINET

Attaching the casters
Attach the casters (j and k) to the underside of the
base (E) using 4 caster screws (g) for each caster.
We recommend attaching the locking casters (j)
at opposite corners to keep the table in place.

Attaching the handles
Attach the magazine rack support (F) to the
rack base (G) by inserting 2 thick dowels
(d) into the outer holes on the base. Set the
support over the dowels and attach to the
base using 2 large screws (h).
Attach the handles by setting the curved
handles (m) over the predrilled holes in the
support and base. Insert 8 handle screws (f)
through the handles into the rack.

Building the body
Insert thick wood dowels into the holes on both
ends of the stretcher (B), the holes on the top of
the back (A) and the middle holes on the sides (C
and D).
Insert bolts (c) through a split washer (b) and a
regular washer (a). These are referred to as bolt
assemblies.
Set the stretcher on top of the back. Press the
right side (C) so the dowels fit into the
corresponding holes on the back. Insert 3 bolt
assemblies through the inside for the back rails
into the sides. Be sure to fully tighten the bolts to
avoid damage or injury. Repeat for the left side.

Attaching the base
Insert thick wood dowels into the outer holes
on the bottom of the sides and back. Set the
base over the dowels. Attach the base to the
assembly using 6 long screws (h).
Set the metal cross bar (o) over the holes at the
end of the base. Insert 2 small bolts (i) through
the underside of the base into the cross bar.

Attaching the rack
Attach the metal rails (n) to the base using
2 handle screws(f) for each side. Set the
rack assembly on top of the rails, and attach
using 2 handle screws (f) for each side, again.
Attach the rack to the cabinet using 3 bolt
assemblies. Insert the bolts through the inside of
the cabinet into the rack. Be sure to fully tighten all
of the bolts and screws to avoid damage or injury.

Attaching the top
Insert thick dowels into the holes in the
top of the back and sides (not the holes
in the rails). Set the top over the dowels.
Insert 4 bolt assemblies through the
cabinet rails into the top. Fully tighten
all of the bolts.

Building the shallow drawers
Insert thin dowels (p) into the ends of the front
(J) and back (I). Slide the left side (M) over the
dowels in both the front and back. Attach the side
by inserting 4 drawer screws (e)
through the side and into the front
and back. Slide the bottom (L) into the
grooves in the bottom of the front and
back. Attach the right side (K) by
inserting 4 drawer screws (e) through the side
and into the front and back.
You will need to repeat this step for both of the
shallow drawers.

Building the deep drawers
Insert thin dowels (p) into the ends of the front
(N) and back (O). Slide the left side (Q) over the
dowels in both the front and back. Attach the side
by inserting 4 drawer screws (e) through the side
and into the front and back. Slide the bottom
(L) into the grooves in the bottom of the
front and back. Attach the right side (P) by
inserting 4 drawer screws (e) through the
side and into the front and back.
Set the rails (l) )into the notches on the sides,
as shown.

Inserting the drawers
Insert the shallow drawers (J) onto the top
rails and the deep (N) on the bottom rails.
Test each drawer to be sure it is gliding on
the rails properly.
