The Slim Dimmer is a unique single portable 1.8kW dimming solution that can be used individually or as a part of
a complete dimming system. It is perfect for lm, television, studios, location shoots, or anywhere you need just
one dimmer or just one more dimmer.
Unpacking and Inspection
Before you begin your installation check the shipment carefully to conrm it arrived complete and undamaged.
1. Check the contents against the packing list to ensure the device is the correct model
2. Check the panel for loose or broken components, which might have resulted from shipping
3. Inspect for signs of damage to wiring devices, circuit breakers, handles or device enclosure

Safety Notice
The Slim Dimmer is built and tested with safety as a primary consideration, but all electrical equipment must be
used with care. Observe all normal precautions when operating this dimmer.
1. Review all instructions before use and save for future reference
2. The device shall be connected to a mains outlet with overcurrent protection and grounding.
3. This product is for use in dry locations only
4. Unplug dimmer from power before servicing
5. Do not modify dimmer or housing in any manner

1. Line Power Connection
• Connect the Slim Dimmer to a 120VAC 15A 60Hz power source using the NEMA 5-15 plug (Fig. 2)
• If the breaker (Fig. 2) trips, check the power source and cables being used before resetting
• Do not power the unit from a dimmed circuit
2. Load Power Connection
• The Slim Dimmer portable dimmer can control incandescent loads
• To prolong lamp life, set the control output to zero before connecting the load, see below
• Plug load(s) up to the capacity of the dimmer, into the NEMA 5-15 receptacle (Fig. 2) using properly
grounded and appropriately rated cords
1. Hanging
• If desired, a C-clamp may be attached to the dimmer for hanging, using a thread adapter and the 14”-20
threaded insert in the case of the dimmer
— Mounting hardware is available from Lex Products
• The ¼”-20 threaded insert can also accommodate a variety of alternate photographic and motion picture
mounting or hanging products
— Additional thread adapters are available from Lex Products.
• When hanging a safety cable (not included) must be used
• The dimmer is equipped with two holes on the face of the enclosure (Fig. 1) through which a safety cable
may be threaded and xed to a suitable structure (such as around the pipe to which the dimmer is clamped)
2. Resting
• The dimmer case may get hot when operated at or near full load
• The dimmer should only be hung or placed on ooring, equipment or furniture that is not susceptible to heat
damage.
1. The dimmer’s digital display will illuminate when powered
2. Slide the dimmer’s built-in fader to provide the desired lighting level
3. The digital display will indicate a percentage (0-100%), permitting the dimmer to be easily and repeatedly set to a
specic level
• It also permits multiple independent Slim Dimmers to be easily set to the same level

Setting Up for Operation

1. If the dimmer does not operate as expected, check the power source and check all cables and connectors
2. Be sure the push to reset breaker is on pushed in (Fig. 2)
• The dimmer is protected by an on-board 15 Amp, push-to-reset circuit breaker
• During normal operation the breaker “button” will be ush with the surface of the unit
• When the breaker is tripped, the button will pop up above the surface of the unit
3. LED display does not illuminate.
• Check to be sure that the power is being supplied to the dimmer
• Ensure the push to reset breaker is ush with the surface of the unit
4. Connected load is ghosting and will not shut off
• Slide the Level Control slider back and forth between 0% and 100%
• If the load remains on at 0%, contact Lex Products Support or your dealer for repair
