Please note the following corrections and clarifications to the DC-1 operating information provided in your Owner's Manual.
1. When using a 48kHz digital connection from a source (DSS, DAT), the following effects are available:
THX Cinema Two Channel
Logic 7 Music Logic
Pro Logic TV Matrix
Music Surround
Selecting any other effect will mute the output.
2. The DC-1 displays a blue or gray screen when no video signal is assigned to a given input, or when the video signal present
is very weak. Pressing theappropriate input selectoragain will turn offthe overlay, allowing a weakvideo signal to beviewed
if desired. Pressing the input selector again will restore the overlay.
3. In the Dolby Digital version, the following changes have been made to the SETUP menu.
LISTENER POSITION
SURROUNDDELAYisautomaticallyadjustedfordifferentsettingsofTIMEALIGNMENTandisnotofferedasaseparate
menu selection.
Selecting A/V SYNC DELAY in the Listener Position menu now causes an adjustment screen to overlay the incoming
video signal.
LOCK SETTINGS
An AUDIO BITparameter has been added to this menu to allow manual defeat of the DC-1's automatic detection and
decodingofDolbyDigitalandPCMstereo bitstreams.ToplayDolbyDigitaldatafromaDAT,for example,setthiscontrol
to NON-AUDIO. For normal use, set to AUTOMATIC.
OUTPUT LEVELS
The range of the SUB PEAK LIMITER has been extended from 24 to 40dB. Adjustments of -5 to +35dB are displayed
where 0dB=85dB SPL in a properly calibrated system.
4. The inital values and ranges of several Effect parameters have been changed as follows:

*Thisparameterhasbeenaddedtoallowadjustmentofthelevelofthesurroundchannels,asmany
AC-3encodedsoundtrackssoundbetterwhendown-mixedtotwochannelswiththesurroundlevel
increased by approximately 2-3dB.

5. An ON setting has been added to the COMPRESSION parameter in all Dolby Digital Effects. When ON is selected,
compression is set to maximum at all times — independent of the volume control setting.
6. Please note that the Time Alignment value for the subwoofer is only effective when it is handling a discrete signal (i.e.
AC-3). Otherwise, it defaults to the setting for the main left and right. This would suggest placing the subwoofer the same
distancefromthelistenerasthemainleftandrightspeakers.Propersubwooferplacementmayrequiresomeexperimentation
to find the location that sounds best.
7. In the Owner's Manual, please note the following changes:
Page 12 The "You Are Here" mode sets Zone 2 Voume to -20dB.
The Record Zone 2 input assignment will not be changed.
Pages 17-19 Confirmationmessagesarenotdisplayedwhenassigningorde-assigninganinputforthe RECORD/ZONE2
outputs. The red front panel LEDs, however, will light to confirm your selection.
Page 27 Under Center, the available crossover points are: 80, 100 and 120 Hz. The graph should appear as shown
below and shows frequencies rolled off at 12dB per octave, not 6dB as stated in the caption.
