Lexmark has a laser printer for mid-sized workgroup printing
requirements. The Optra S 1255 has the speed and features for
today's printing needs, and can be upgraded when needs and user
numbers grow. The Optra S 1255 has a fast 8 page-per-minute
monochrome output that prints at 1200 dpi resolution, and it's ready
to print in 15 seconds. It will print labels, transparencies, envelopes,
card stock and letterhead. It accepts up to legal-sized paper, and
comes with one 250-sheet tray and one 100-sheet multipurpose
tray. Optional 250-, 500- and 2,000-sheet paper trays are available.
The output tray holds 250 sheets and has a sensor that indicates
when it is full. The included black toner cartridge yields up to 7500
pages. The printer has a 35,000-page/ month duty cycle.This
sturdy printer has a LCD information display for printer instructions
and status. Collated output prints are accessible from the front, and
trays and toner are easy to reach for loading and replacement. The
Optra S 1255 is powered by a 67MHz NEC 4305-80 RISC processor
and comes with 4MB memory, which can be upgraded to 68MB with
optional SIMMs. A 2.1GB hard drive option is also available. It is
compatible with PostScript Level 2 and PCL 5e emulation with
SmartSwitch printer language sensing. A wide font selection is
offered, with 75 PostScript fonts, 75 PCL scalable fonts and 2 PCL
bitmapped fonts to choose from. The included font management
utility has additional 110 fonts. This printer uses a high-speed
bi-directional parallel port interface and includes a PCI-based
internal solutions port. This port is ready for options such as a tri-port
adapter, MarkNet S internal network adapter, coax/twinax adapter
for SCS and a hard disk. These network options are available for
upgrades. The MarkVision printer management utility automatically
integrates into network management applications for HP OpenView,
Novell Managewise and more. This utility supports Windows 3.x/95,
Windows NT 4.0, OS/2 Warp, Mac OS and UNIX. The Optra S 1255
integrates easily into multi-user, multi-network environments, meets
the high volume needs of busy offices, and prints from virtually any
PC software applications.
