1. Introduction
LG-600 is a folder type mobile phone operated in the GSM Digital Cellular Mobile Radio System, which
is the Pan-European mobile cellular standard. LG-600 has the operation band of GSM 900 and DCS
1900. GSM Phase II features are fully supported and parts of the GSM Phase II+ features are also
supported. About the SIM Toolkit, LG-600 supports up to Class 3 including Class 1, 2. For speech
communication, LG-600 supports Full Rate(FR), Enhanced Full Rate(EFR) and Half Rate(HR).
For easy text, eZi Text is implemented and WAP protocol is adopted for internet connection.

The following shows key components of the phone.
Key Description
Soft Left Key / Soft Right Key
Each of these keys performs the function indicated by
the text on the display immediately above it.
WAP Hotkey
You can directly connect to WAP by pressing this key.
Navigation Keys
You can use these keys to scroll through names, phone numbers,
menus or setting options. In a standby mode, if you press up/down
navigation keys, you can see the "Dialed Number” “Received Number”
and “Missed Number”.
Send Key
You can dial a phone number and answer a call.
If you press this key without entering a number, your phone shows the
most recently dialled number.
Numeric Keys
These keys are used mainly to dial in standby mode
and enter numbers or characters in editing mode.
When you press these keys for a long time.
• Used to call your voice mail box by .
• Used to call for international call by .
• Used to call speed dials by ~ .
Star Key
Used to enter to vibration mode by pressing this key
for a long time.
Hash Key
Used to lock key by pressing this key for a long time.
END/PWR Key
Used to end or reject a call. This key is also used as Power Key.
You can power on and off by pressing this key for a long time.
Record Key
You can use voice memo by pressing this key for a long time.
Up/Down Side Key
You can control the volume of key tone in standby mode and also control
the volume during a call.

1. Push the battery locker, and then remove the battery cover.
2. Pull the battery downward and lift it up.
3. Use your thumb to pull down the battery-locker hard.

4. Loosen the 4 screws as shown below.
5. Turn over the phone facing up and detach lower case carefully from the hooks on the top of upper
case.

1. Turn over the lower case and remove the circuit boards.
2. Then, pull out volume BTN and Recording BTN.

3. Use a small ‘-’ type driver to push away a pin from the hinge.
4. Hold the display case and pull out the right hinge first and then left one.

4.1.3 Assembly of Lower Case
1. When assembling the display case to the lower case, make sure only circuit board, pin and a side
of the display cases are assembled first as shown below.
2. Insert left side first when assembling hinges.
3. Use a driver to push the pin to the right for secure locking.

1. PCB is easily detached from the upper case by hand.
Assembly:
- When placing Backup-battery onto Battery-hold, make sure the battery poles are facing the
right direction.

2. Use a '-'type driver to push away the antenna hook, and while pushing the hook, turn and pull out
the antenna from the case.
Assembly: Push the Antenna into the hole until it clicks.

5.1.2 Data Kit Download Procedure
■ General Purpose:
This document gives a guideline for upgrading software of LG-600 GSM/DCS Dual-band mobile
phone using UART port.
■ Download Environment:
In order to download software of LG-600, the following working environments should be
prepared:
LG-600 Data Link Kit, DK-10G that is connected to COM1 or COM2 serial port in the Desktop or
Notebook PC.
LG-600 Data Kit Download Monitor Program that is copied to Desktop PC or Notebook PC.
Target SW* downloaded to LG-600 mobile phone.
Note: Target SW* means any necessary software to be downloaded to the mobile phone.
Warning
You MUST use the Data Link Kit (DK-10G) and UART Download Monitor program that are
provided from LGE. Otherwise downloading process won't work properly.

■ Download Procedure
1. Unzip LG-600 UART Download monitor program (monitor632.zip) in PC.
2. Execute monitor632.exe. And then select the "Target" Menu shown in Fig1. Then, choose
"Connect" in the Target Menu.

3. A table will be displayed as shown in Fig 2. Then press the arrow-button and choose a correct
serial port. And press "OK" button.
