INTRODUCTION TO LG TOUCH SCREEN
MONITOR
What is LG Touch Screen Monitor?
 LGTouchScreenMonitorT1710BP/T1910BPcreatesanenvironmentformouseoperationbasedon4-wire
resistivetechnologythatallowsyoutocontrolthetouchscreeninWindows.
 NoadditionaldriverisrequiredforinstallationsinceitisrecognizedasanHID(HumanInterfaceDevice)likea
USBmouseorkeyboard.AUSBcableisusedtoconnectthemonitortothePC.
 ItusescalibrationtoaligntheareatouchedonthescreenwiththeWindowscursoronthedisplay.
 Tocalibratethetouchscreen,usethetouchscreencalibrationsoftware.(CalibrationsoftwareandUSBcable
suppliedseparately.)
 Itispossibleforthetouchscreenandmousetobeusedalternatelywithouthavingtoconfigureadditionalsettings.

Supported Functions
 Click:tapthebuttonortheareatobeselectedonce.
 DoubleClick:tapthebuttontobedouble-clickedtwicequickly.Usethisfunctionafterrunningthecalibration
softwarefileandinstallingthedoubleclickfunction.
 Drag:tapthebuttonorthedragbartobedraggedwithastyluspenorfingertipandkeepithelddownwhile
movingthebutton/dragbartowhereitneedstobe.Whenusingyourfingertiptodrag,thefunctionmaynotalways
workproperlybecauseitishardertoapplypressuretothescreenevenly.Itisrecommendedthatatoolsuchasa
styluspenthatcanapplyevenpressureisusedonthetouchscreen.
 RightClick:clickontheareatoberight-clickedwithastyluspenorfingertipandholdfortwotothreeseconds.The
rightclickfunctiontakestwotothreesecondstowork.

 Oncethedevicehasbeenrecognizedproperly,theUSBcabledoesnothavetoberemovedwhenthePCis
turnedon/offwiththecableconnected.
 Ifthedeviceisnotrecognizedproperly,removetheUSBcableandreconnectit.

How to check that the PC recognizes the device properly
 WindowsXP
 WhenthetouchscreenUSBcableisconnectedtoeachUSBportonthePCforthefirsttime,themessage"Found
NewHardware"appearsasshownbelow.Themessagedisappearsinafewseconds;ifyouthentouchthescreen
withastyluspenorfingertipandthemousepointermoves,thismeansthatthePCrecognizesthedeviceproperly.
OncethePChasrecognizedthedeviceproperly,theinformationisstoredintheregistryonthePCsothatthe
message"FoundNewHardware"doesnotappearagainwhenthePCisturnedon/offortheUSBcableisconnected/
removed.
 WindowsVISTA
 WhenthetouchscreenUSBcableisconnectedtoeachUSBportonthePCforthefirsttime,messagessuchas
"Installingdevicedriversoftware"and"USBHumanInterfaceDevice"willappearasshownbelow.Themessage
disappearsinafewseconds;ifyouthentouchthescreenwithastyluspenorfingertipandthemousepointer
moves,thismeansthatthePCrecognizesthedeviceproperly.OncethePChasrecognizedthedeviceproperly,the
informationisstoredintheregistryofthePCsothatmessagessuchas"Installingdevicedriversoftware"and"USB

Running the Touch Screen Calibration Software
1 InsertthemanualCDprovidedwiththemonitorintothePC'sCD-ROMdrive.
2 Tocalibratethetouchscreen,click"CalibrationSW"under"TouchScreenCalibrationSW&InstallGuide"andset
upthedoubleclickfunction.
Afterestablishingthesettingsforcalibrationandthedoubleclickfunction,restartthecomputerto
enableamorestableperformanceofthetouchscreenfunctions.

Touch Screen Calibration (For Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7)
1 SelectthetouchdeviceanddisplaymonitorconnectedtothePCwithamouseunder"TouchDevice"and
"DisplayMonitor"respectively.(Check)
2 SetthedisplayresolutionforDisplayMonitortothemaximumsupportedresolution(optimumresolution).
-Maximumsupportedresolution(optimumresolution)forT1710BP:1280X1024
-Maximumsupportedresolution(optimumresolution)forT1910BP:1280X1024
3ClicktheCalibrationbutton.
4Whenthecalibrationscreenappears,calibrateintheordershowninthefigurebelow.
1) Usingastyluspenorfingertip,pressthecenterofthetouchpointforafewseconds.Afterafew
seconds,thetouchpointturnsred>yellow>green("TOUCH"->"HOLD"->"LIFTOFF");calibrationfor
pointer1isthencomplete.
2) Repeatthesameprocedureforallfivetouchpoints.(1>2>3>4>5inorder)
3) Whenthecalibrationforallfivetouchpointsiscomplete,thescreenautomaticallydisappears.
4) Aftertheinitialcalibration,thevaluesareautomaticallysaved;furthercalibrationisnotrequired.
5) Tocancelthecalibrationprocess,pressESCtoreturntothestagepriortocalibration.

preferences.
 IntheDoubleClickConfigurewindow,RangecanbeadjustedbyclickingSmallandBigaccordingtotheuser's
preferences.
4AfteradjustingSpeedandRange,clicktheApplybutton.
5ClickApplyandthenOKtoapplythechanges;theDoubleClickConfigurewindowthendisappears..
6 ClickCanceltocancelthechangesmadeinSpeedorRangeandreturntothepreviousvalues.Oncethechanges
areappliedbyclickingApply,itisnotpossibletoreverttothepreviousvalues.
7 IftheDoubleClickConfigurewindowappearsbyaccident,clickCanceltoclosethewindow.
