DESCRIPTION
The FXLD354WAI is a WHITE / WARM WHITE
LED lighting fixture. It is suitable for stage, disco,
night club, and other artistic applications. It has
several stand alone control modes, a master/slave
mode, and can operate via a DMX-512 external signal.
A double yoke enables the fixture to be operated in
several positions.
INSTALLATION
LOCATION
The FXLD354WAI is rated IP20 and is intended for
INDOOR USE ONLY.
Locate the unit in a well ventilated area away from
moisture and heat. Keep the vent holes clear. Holes
are provided on the yokes to install a lighting bar pipe
clamp. Use a safety cable when hanging the fixture.
POWER CONNECTIONS
The FXLD354WAI has a line cord for connection to a
120 VAC, 15 Amp, 60Hz, grounded service.
The safety ground pin on the power cord must be used.
DMX CONNECTIONS
A system using DMX control should be connected as a
chain of devices. In other words the control signal
cable should proceed from the controller to the first
receiving device and then to others in a continuous
"daisy chain" fashion.
The fixture has a DMX IN and a DMX OUT connector
to be used to connect the chain. The control cable
should NOT be split into a multiple run star
arrangement with a cable running from the controller
directly to each receiving device pack.
DMX CONNECTOR PIN ASSIGNMENTS
There are two different connectors which can be used
for DMX control. They are both XLR type connectors.
Some units use 3 pin connectors. Others use 5 pin
connectors. The FXLD354WAI receives a DMX signal
on the 3 pin MALE connector on one side of the unit.
The 3 pin FEMALE connector is used to connect the
next DMX device on the control chain. If your console
uses a 5 pin connector you can make up an adapter
cable to accommodate this. The table below shows the
pin assignments for BOTH the 3 pin and 5 pin
connectors.

DMX TERMINATION
A DMX chain should be terminated at the last
receiving device on the chain. This is done by
installing a commonly available 1/4 Watt, 120 Ohm
resistor across the DATA - and DATA + wires at the
last device. If you have only a few fixtures very close
together and a very short run to the controller then you
may be able to operate without the terminator.
OPERATION
A control panel on one side of the unit is used to set the
operating options. It consists of an LED display and
four buttons
(MENU, UP, DOWN, and ENTER)
Push
MENU
to access the operating options. Then use
UP
and
DOWN
to scroll through the available choices.
When you reach the option you want to set or change -
push
ENTER
.Now you can view the current setting
for the option and/or change it. Push
ENTER
to save
your changes and activate the option. See the "MENU
NAVIGATION" diagram for additional details.
There are 8 operation modes: DMX, White Level,
Warm White Level, IP Address, Test Colors, Auto
Sequence, Run Program, and Slave Mode.
DMX OPERATION
Use the d - - - menu to set the starting address of the
unit. You can set the starting address of the unit with
the UP and DOWN buttons.
The fixture uses eight channels with allocations as
follows:
CHANNEL 1: Master Dimmer
CHANNEL 2: Strobe Rate Control
CHANNEL 3: Warm White Level
CHANNEL 4: White Level
CHANNEL 5: Color Macro - Color Combinations
CHANNEL 6: Auto Program
CHANNEL 7: Auto Program Speed
CHANNEL 8: IP Address
Additional detail on DMX channel operation is given
in the table "DMX Values and Functions".
MANUAL OPERATION
For manual operation the white, and warm white LED
levels may be independently controlled. Use the Co - -
(white) and CA - - (warm white) menus to set the
levels. The range is from 00 (OFF) to 30 (Full On).
IP ADDRESS OPERATION
IP addressing allows you to control individual fixtures
with the same DMX address in an independent manner
without changing the DMX address at the fixture.
An IP address (00 - 85) is first set at the fixture. If set
to 00 then the fixture IP addressing is deactivated.
The console IP channel (channel 10) can then be used
to select fixtures which have a specific IP address. At
that point only fixtures which match the console IP
setting will respond to the other console channels.
If the console IP address selection (channel 10) is
set to 000 then all IP functions are turned off and
fixtures will respond according to their DMX address.
TEST COLORS
The Test Colors option runs all LEDs at the level
selected in its menu. Use the E - - - menu to set the
level. The range is from 000 to 255. 255 is maximum.
AUTO SEQUENCE
The AUTO SEQUENCE mode switches continuously
through a sequence of all the preset programs . See
the RUN PROGRAM menu for more details. Use the
Au - - menu to set the sequence speed and activate
the option. The range is from 00 to 99. 00 is fastest.
RUN PROGRAM
The unit can operate using 55 preset programs. Preset
0 is "all off". Presets 1 through 3 are solid colors. The
remaining presets are a variety of changing colors and
patterns. Use the Pr - - menu to select and activate a
preset program. The range is from 00 to 55.

MASTER/SLAVE OPERATION
The FXLD354WAI can operate in a Master/Slave
mode where one of the units can synchronize other
units of the same model.
Connect the units together using the DMX IN and
DMX OUT connectors. Set the unit to be the Master
in one of the modes above. Use the SLAL menu to set
a unit as a slave.
