If during the test there is an issue with the light output, then the LED will flash Red twice every three seconds.
If fitting does not co plete the required e ergency duration the LED will then flash Red three ti es every three
seconds.
Manual Test
The lu inaire has a test button underneath the fitting which has two functions;
1. When the button is pressed once, the schedule of self-test will be reset (i.e. fro the 1
st
day installed).
2. When the button is pressed for three seconds, the fitting will enter a self-test ode for 5 inutes with the
sa e LED color indication as the onthly/annual test (red flashing quickly).
LED ndicator Status
Green LED On: AC ains supply and battery connected
LED Off: No AC supply present
Red Flash Once every 3 seconds: Issue with the battery during the daily test
Red Flash very quickly: Lu inaire in anual/ onthly/annual test ode
Red Flash Twice every 3 seconds: Fitting failed test - Issue with the light output during auto-test
Red Flash Three every 3 seconds: Fitting failed test – the battery duration was not achieved during auto-test
Failed Test / Reset: After a failed test and the fault has been rectified, the test button will need to be
pressed for 3 seconds to activate a self-test or re ove the 230v AC supply to reset
the fault and LED indicator status back to green.
Maintenance
Repairs should only be carried out by suitably qualified person
Regular cleaning of lu inaires should be carried out at regular intervals not only to ensure good optical perfor ance
but also ensure that dirt does not accu ulate to such an extent as to i pair the electrical or ther al safety of the
fitting, this should be done with a soft da p cloth, do not use any che icals or abrasives.
Servicing should only be carried out after the fitting has been ade electrically safe and the battery disconnected.
Light Source Maintenance: the light source of this lu inaire is not replaceable; in case the light source need to be
replaced (e.g. at the end of its life), the whole lu inaire shall be replaced.
TEST NG
Ensure the lu inaires are tested in accordance with 5266-8:2004 / BS EN 50172:2004
Daily: Ensure the green charge LED is illu inated
Monthly: Check the LED Indicator Status, if Green then the unit has passed the onthly test. If the LED is flashing 2
or 3 ti es every 3 seconds then then lu inaire has failed and will require an engineer to investigate,
record the result in the log book
Annually: Repeat the onthly inspection and record the result in the log book. If the LED is flashing 2 or 3 ti es
every 3 seconds then then lu inaire has failed and will require an engineer to investigate.
Defects: Any defects or failures should be noted and recorded in the log book and actioned by a co petent person
as soon as possible
