Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY RS232 Extender over
Cat.5, which extends control of any RS232 protocol device to
over 250 metres. It provides full duplex transmission and
hardware handshake signals with no need for any complicated
set-up procedures.

Installation
Connect your computer with the transmitter of the LINDY
RS232 Extender by use of a D9 female to male serial cable.
Then connect the transmitter with the receiver by use of a Cat.5
(or higher) cable at a maximum length of 250m.
Now connect the receiver with the RS232 device by use of a D9
male to female serial cable.
Finally connect the supplied power adapter to transmitter or
receiver. Only one power adapter should be needed, only
operation at extreme distances may make a second power
supply necessary.

Vielen Dank für den Kauf des LINDY RS232 Cat.5 Extenders,
mit dem Sie den Steuerbereich eines beliebigen RS232-
Protokollgerätes auf eine Entfernung bis zu 250m erweitern
können. Er liefert volle Duplexübertragung und Hardware-
Handshake-Signale ohne komplizierte Setup-Verfahren.

Installation
Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer mit dem Transmitter/Sender
des LINDY RS232 Receivers. Verwenden Sie dazu ein
serielles Kabel (D9 Buchse an Stecker).
Anschließend verbinden Sie den Transmitter mit dem
Receiver. Verwenden Sie dazu ein max. 250m langes Cat.5
(oder höher) Kabel.
Nun schließen Sie ein RS232-Gerät mittels seriellem Kabel
(D9 Stecker an Buchse) am Receiver an.
Zum Schluss schließen Sie das Netzteil entweder an den
Transmitter oder den Receiver an. Im allgemeinen ist ein
Netzteil ausreichend. Nur bei besonders langen Distanzen ist
eventuell ein zweites Netzteil erforderlich.

Introduction
Merci d’avoir choisi l’extender RS232 Cat.5 LINDY, celui-ci
vous permet d’étendre le contrôle de tout appareil compatible
avec le protocole RS232 à jusqu’à 250 mètres. Il fournit la
transmission de signaux en full duplex et la prise en charge du
Handshake matériel, sans passer par des procédures de
paramétrages complexes.

Installation
Connectez l’ordinateur avec l’émetteur de l’extender RS232
LINDY en utilisant un câble DB9 série mâle/femelle.
Reliez ensuite l’émetteur au récepteur en utilisant un câble
Cat.5 (ou supérieur) à une distance maximale de jusqu’à
250m.
Connectez à présent le récepteur avec le périphérique RS232
en utilisant un câble DB9 série mâle/femelle.
Connectez finalement l’alimentation fournie à l’émetteur ou au
récepteur. Une seule alimentation devrait être nécessaire,
seule une utilisation aux distances maximales devrait rendre
l’utilisation d’une seconde alimentation nécessaire.

Installazione
Collegate il trasmettitore dell’extender alla porta seriale del
vostro computer con un cavo DB9 Maschio/Femmina.
Collegate poi il trasmettitore al ricevitore utilizzando un cavo
Cat.5 (o superiore) lungo al massimo 250m.
Ora collegate il ricevitore alla periferica seriale RS232
utilizzando un cavo DB9 seriale maschio femmina.
Da ultimo collegate l’alimentatore al trasmettitore oal
ricevitore. Va utilizzato un solo alimentatore: solo per
connessioni a distanze estreme potrebbe essere necessario
utilizzare un secondo alimentatore.
