Thank you for purchasing the AccuReader
wafer reading system by LockTech. This system wi
a ow you to read the new Kawasaki keyway,
identified by “KM10” being stamped on the face of
the ignition. The KM10 AccuReader wi read these
ocks comp ete y and accurate y without the remova
of the ignition or other ock. Fo owing a few simp e
steps it takes on y minutes to read the depths for
each cut in each position for a comp ete key.
The AccuReader works on the process of
e imination to decipher the correct depths of the ock.
By checking the deepest cut first you e iminate what
the cuts are not. Therefore it is essentia to a ways
read the deepest possib e depth first, in this case the
#3 s ide.
The AccuReader key is used for a wafer
positions 1-8 for a comp ete key.
Ignition = 1-8
Gas = 3-8
Seat = 3-8
P ease take the time to fami iarize yourse f
with the too s and verify a pieces are accounted for
from the ist of contents be ow:
Package Contents:
1-AccuReader key
1-insertion/re ease s ide
1-depth s ide #3 I
1-depth s ide #2 I / #3 G
1-depth s ide #2 G
1-Tube storage container
1-Tube Cap
Using the KM10 AccuReader
IMPORTANT: The 3I & 2I depth slides are t be
used n the igniti n and the 3G & the 2G slides
are t be used n the gas cap r seat l ck.
Use the fo owing directions to read a 8
wafer positions from the ignition. After reading a 8
positions from the ignition, it is advised to read
positions 3-8 from the gas cap or the seat to compare
your findings from the ignition.
USING THE ACCUREADER
1) A ways thorough y c ean the ock with a e ectronics
safe c eaner to free any potentia y stuck wafers.
2) Use the a ignment ho es through the AccuReader
key to assist in judging the distance from one wafer
position to the next.
3) P ace the insertion/re ease s ide in the s ot on the
AccuReader key and fu y insert the AccuReader key
into the keyway and remove the s ide. If the
AccuReader pu s out some before it traps a wafer,
remove the AccuReader and insert it on the opposite
side. It shou d now trap a wafer with the key fu y
inserted. The AccuReader key is now ready to read
the #8 wafer.
4) A ways start reading with the #3I depth slide
t l, then pr ceed t #2I if necessary. Fu y insert
the depth s ide into the AccuReader key. The
a ignment mark on the depth s ide wi ine up with the
(Y) Yes mark or it wi ine up with the (N) N mark.
a) If the #3I depth s ide ines up with the Y
then the depth for the #8 wafer is a 3. If the depth
s ide ines up with a N, then you must proceed to the
#2I depth s ide.
b) If the #2I depth s ide ines up with the Y
then the depth for the #8 wafer is a 2. If the depth
s ide ines up with a N, then the depth for
wafer #8 is a 1.
c) Repeat steps a through c for each wafer
position unti you have recorded the depth for a 8
wafer positions.
d) After reading a 8 positions in the ignition,
insert the AccuReader fu y into the gas cap ock or
seat ock and read positions 3-8 to confirm your
readings from the ignition. Be sure t use the 3G &
2G slides n the gas cap r seat l ck.
e) You now have recorded a the positions to
make a comp ete key.
