I. Introduction
You have just purchased the Luminette® Drive. We would like to
congratulate you on your purchase and welcome you to the world of on-
the-go light therapy!
Important: Before turning on and using your Luminette® Drive, please
carefully read this manual and be sure to keep it in a safe place, also certain
that you take enough time to get to know your device using Figure 1.
A. The role of light
By means of the light/dark cycle, the human brain synchronizes functions
such as mood, appetite, digestion, sleep, libido, etc. These circadian
rhythms, which oscillate over 24 hours, constitute our biological clock.
Melatonin is what is commonly referred to as the "sleep hormone".
The brain secretes it at nightfall, which then induces sleep. Conversely,
at daybreak, in the presence of light, the brain stops the secretion of
melatonin, enabling us to get up easily, and full of energy.
In addition to its regulating effect on our biological clock, light
significantly affects mood, alertness, and physical and intellectual
performance, by improving them.
B. Light therapy
In some situations, the biological clock is no longer in sync with external
environments. The circadian rhythms are, therefore, "desynchronized".
This is particularly the case in winter when there is an insufficient amount

7
EN
of light, at which point some people develop winter blues. This is also
something that can be seen in people who tend to go to sleep too early
or too late.
Jet lag is another type of disruption to the biological clock, as well as
fragmented work disorders (which affect more than 10% of workers in
Europe) which are now recognized as real pathologies. All these disorders
can be reduced or even eliminated by the correct use of light and
darkness. When light cannot be found in natural form, light therapy is the
solution that offers the most benefits with the least side effects.
C. Its applications
• Winter Blues
• Fatigue - low energy
• Problems with sleep rhythms
• Work with a fragmented schedule
This product is not approved as a medical device under 93/42/CEE norms.
D. Contraindications
Whatever the reason for your purchasing Luminette® Drive, we advise
that you avoid exceeding the recommended daily usage.
There are few contraindications.
If you suffer from an eye condition (glaucoma, retinis, retinopathy, macular
degeneration), we recommend that you consult a specialist before

8
EN
using Luminette® Drive. If you have cataracts, light therapy may be less
effective.
If you suffer from psychiatric disorders (depression, hysteria, neurosis,
and psychosis), we recommend that you consult a doctor before using
this device.
Luminette® Drive can also be used with contact lenses or corrective lenses.
E. Possibles reactions
Adverse reactions from the light of this device are relatively mild and
temporary. They may include:
• Headaches.
• Eye strain or visual disturbances, intraocular pressure.
• Nausea.
• Agitation, sedation, nervousness, and very rarely hypomania or
mania.
In order to avoid, reduce, or mitigate these adverse effects, the following
measures can be taken:
• Increase the brightness inside your vehicle.
• Reduce the light intensity of the device if you have any of these
reactions.
• Avoid using the device for a few days until the adverse reactions
have disappeared, then try again.

II. Use
A. When can I use Luminette® Drive?
1. To combat seasonal blues
Lacking energy and motivation? Have difficulty getting up in the morning?
Feel the need to hibernate? Snack more? Notice a decrease in your libido?
You are probably experiencing the winter blues. This condition is the
result of a reduction in brightness in autumn and winter. We recommend a
light therapy session as soon as possible after waking up.
2. To combat fatigue and low energy
The Luminette® Drive reproduces the beneficial effects of the sun and
stimulates specific receptors in the eyes that trigger the body's energizing
response to light. This helps combat energy loss, makes you feel more fit,
active, and alert, it can also improve your mood. We recommend a light
therapy session as soon as possible after waking up.
3. To combat sleep rhythm disorders
Some sleep disorders are caused by an advance or delay in the biological
clock. In these cases, light therapy can provide a solution.

12
EN
• A delay in the biological clock
Have a tendency to fall asleep too late and have difficulty getting up in
the morning? We recommend you have a light therapy session as soon as
possible after waking up.
• An advance in the biological clock
Have trouble staying awake in the evening and wake up too early? We
recommend that you have a light therapy session in the late afternoon or
early evening, two to three hours before the time you want to go to bed.
4. To optimize fragmented work
If you work at night for more than three consecutive days and have
difficulty staying awake at work and/or on the way home, we recommend
you have a light therapy session just before starting work and, in case of
drowsiness, a second session during your work break.
As a precaution, we advise you to contact your occupational physician.
B. How long does a luminotherapy session last?
The recommended duration to use your Luminette Drive is 20 minutes.
Once the session is finished, the device turns off automatically.
C. How often should I use the Luminette® Drive?
It is recommended that you use the Luminette® Drive once per day.
D. How long before you can feel the effects?
Some people start to feel the regulating effects of Luminette® Drive right

13
EN
from the first use. Others, after one to two weeks of daily use.
E. How do you charge the Luminette® Drive?
Charging the device is very simple.
To do this:
• Connect the type-C connector of the cable to the specified location
on your Luminette® Drive (see figure 1) and connect the other
standard USB connector to the charger port.
• Plug the charger into the cigarette lighter port of your car.
• When the device is fully charged (charging time is about 2 hours),
disconnect the cable from the device.
Charge indication:
• When your Luminette® Drive is charging, the green charging
indicator light flashes slowly.
• When your Luminette® Drive is fully charged, the same green light
stops flashing and remains On.
• In the event of an error (battery or circuit failure), the red LED flashes
quickly.
• The device can be used while it is charging.
Device autonomy:
Its autonomy depends on the intensity chosen. As an indication, the
Luminette® Drive should have an autonomy of at least ten sessions. The

14
EN
remaining battery life is indicated by the indicator light: it is green when
the battery life of the device is sufficient for one session and red when it
is recommended you recharge the device.
F. Turning On/Off
Caution: Before the first use, make sure the device is fully charged to allow
your Luminette® Drive to operate for the entire duration of the session.
To turn on your Luminette® Drive, press and hold the On/Off button
briefly (see figure 1). To change the intensity of the light, simply press
the same button briefly. The change is made cyclically: level 1, level 2,
level 3, then a return to level 1, etc. The Luminette® Drive stays on for
20 minutes, blinks three times when the session is finished and turns
off automatically. To turn off your Luminette® Drive in the middle of a
session, hold down the On-Off button (for 2 seconds).
G. How do you position the Luminette® Drive?
For the maximum efficiency and ideal driving comfort, you must place the
Luminette® Drive correctly in your vehicle.
To properly position your Luminette® Drive:
• Place the magnetic fixing clip on your sun visor with the elastic band
provided and tighten it firmly.
• “Clip” the device onto your sun visor using the magnetic clip.
• Using a tape measure, measure the distance between your face and
the device in order to determine the appropriate light intensity.

15
EN
- If your face is less than 10 cm from the device, choose intensity
n°1.
- If your face is between 10 and 20 cm from the device, choose
intensity n°2.
- If your face is more than 20 cm from the device, choose intensity
n°3.
When looking at yourself in the central mirror of your car, make sure that
the blue light band is positioned across your eyes.
Caution: Be careful not to look directly into the LED.
H. How to maintain the Luminette® Drive?
This device is made for use in cars. After each use, it is highly
recommended that you unhook the device and its magnetic housing and
store it in an appropriate place (glove compartment, for example). To
clean your Luminette® Drive, use a soft damp cloth that has been dipped
in clear water and soft cleaning solution (denatured alcohol). Be sure to
protect also the fragile illuminating lens, and avoid putting your fingers
on it. If there are still marks on it despite your precautions, simply clean
them with cotton.
